I have been very impressed with Saving Shelter Pets.

With many animal organizations today getting large and unwieldly, supporting a large staff, or sometimes losing its way - SSP is a breath of fresh air. Every penny donated by a person intending to save a dog or cat from "deathrow" or to pay for a spay goes directly to that with no money taken off the top for administrative fees.

No matter who you are - a casual, occasional volunteer or someone who volunteers everyday - everyone can sees the "books" so to speak of every rescue effort. No other group would ever do that.

I have been so gratified to come to know this wonderful organization and to be able to work with people who I have never met, or in many cases will never meet in person, all for the sake of a dog ot cat (or should i say many!)

If you love animals and just have a few free minutes at the computer during your busy week, or a few hours to give - I urge you to check them out. You can use a few minutes of your spare time to save a life versus another round of solitaire.
