xela7125 says "Great product, but Medelas are pricey" about Medela Harmony Breast Pump

I have had 2 Medela pumps, an inexpensive battery operated model and an expensive model that plugs in, does both breasts at once, and does it pain free.

There is no comparison.

Go for the big ones! Most of my working mom friends have Medela pumps, and all of the models are great. They are expensive to start with, but te batteries cheaper pumps require add up quickly. And cheap pumps HURT!

Medela pumps have several controls to set the pump to imitate your own baby's suckling strength and speed. It is very convienient, having it's own carrying bag and it is laid out very nicely. It's much quieter than other types of pumps. However, using it in a quiet office, you will not be able to disquise what is happening.

Overall, would definately recommend Medela pumps. They have pump and freeze bags that are very convienint to use and the pump parts are easy to take apart to clean. You could even buy or borrow a used pump, and buy replacement parts so it is sanitary.
...

xela7125 says "The best of the bunch, check out Dodge Caravans" about Dodge Grand Caravan - 2006

The stow-and-go seats are life changing!

This van has changed how we get from point a to point B. With so many seat configurations, you can do anything. We travel with a 85 pound dog, so it is great to be able to put one of the seats down for the trip, allowing her to stretch out and also be low to the ground in case of an accident. Then, once we arrive at our destiation, we can leave her in the cottage etc. and take all of our friends out to eat, just by simply flipping up the seat. It's wonderful.

The van drives well, we have had no major repairs. The door opening with the touch of a button are wonderful. When my son was a baby and we had those awkward baby car seats, and I would be carrying a diaper bag etc, it was great to open the door while I locked the front door and simply carried him out and snaped the seat in. It's also great in the summer, because as I walk out from a store etc. I can open both sides of the van while still quite far from the car and let all of...
...

xela7125 says "Canon Digital Rebel is the best yet" about Canon - Rebel XTi Digital Camera

This camera has completely changed the way I take picture. It is just wonderful to work with, and takes the best photos I have seen anywhere. It is very easy to operate, and even a novice can capture a great picture. While the cost to start up is high, it is not going to need to be replaced because it can take huge photos, and the shutter is incredibly fast with basically zero delay. I have enlarged a standard photo to 20x24 and it still has amazing clarity.

It uses Compact Flash or CF cards which are harder to find if say you lose yours on vacation in Mexico (Happened to me :( ) but you can get them even at Costco in large sizes for relatively inexpensive prices.

I have a young child, and with this camera I can capture real moments, and even create slideshows that look like movies. We have made flip books of him doing a little dance, and the pictures took so close together it is amazing.

I would recommend this camera to anyone who is a hobbiest or is interested in...
...

xela7125 says "Avent bottles helped with gas, and grew with child" about Avent Starter Kit Baby Bottle

Avent bottles did the trick!

I received lots of sample bottles at the doctors office, hospital and in the mail, but none of them compared to the ones I bought. I primarily breast fed my son, but bottles were still used quite often. They normailly contained pumped breast milk. With other bottles, my son got gas and frequently spit up, even though he was drinking the same milk either way. We got the avent starter set with both the 5 oz. bottles and the 8 oz. bottles. Something with the nipples and rings is different, and it does not cause nearly as much gas. Another plus was that they are wide mouth, shorter bottles which made cleaning a breeze. The company has a good breast pump that attaches to the bottles, or you can use a Medela pump and a converter ring (fairly inexpensive and easy to clean).

Another plus with this system is that it grows with the child. You can use the small bottles to hold home made or left over baby food to take with you, and feed right out of...
...

xela7125 says "Elite car seat is great from infant to toddler & beyond" about Cosco Alpha Omega Elite

The Alpha Omega Elite car seat is bit more exensive when compared to single function seats. However, in the long run, it saves money. It is very easy to use, and lasts from infant to preschool as a belt positioning booster. The seat has a really neat base that allows it to recline, and eventually comes off to be a booster. I washes well, and it is easily and quickly put back together. We primarily use the latch system in our own car, but when we use a different vehicle it is easy to install with a standard seat belt. You don't have to flatten your hand, either, as with another seat we have owned. The belt can be seen under the cover, which is attached with electic loops. I checked out safety ratings before purchasing the seat, and the research is very promising. We have not been in any type of crash, but the foam is the "EPS" foam and is very thick around the head and neck. It is very easy to adjust the height and the length of the belts, all on the front of the seat without...
...
