white27 says "Great crib for newborns & travel" about Graco Travel Lite Crib

As a mother of 3 girls, I have had plenty of experience with newborns & having a place for them to sleep. We got the Graco Travel Lite crib as a shower gift for my first daughter. It was the perfect alternative to a bassinet in our bedroom when we first brought her home. We didn't have a second bedroom in the house and with limited space in our bedroom, the crib was great. We used it with the bassinet attachment until she weighed too much and then used it as a crib until she was almost 9 months old. Even after that, it worked great as a travel crib for a night or two. My third daughter is still using it as a crib at 6 months old.

It is a wonderful space-saving tool and is great for it's intended use of traveling. The crib is easy to set up and take down, and also does not take up much space when stored. I would not use it as an alternative to a full size play yard, as it is not really big enough for a crawler to move around in. However, the Travel Lite crib is a more...
...

white27 says "Great durable bib" about Dura Bib Stage 2 Sun

I went through my share of different kinds of bibs when my first daughter started feeding herself. It's hard to find the perfect combination of a bib that can catch the food, stay on, and be cleaned easily. A family member had this bib on their toddler and I fell in love with it. I now have 5 in the rotation and still use them on my near 3 year old. They are still in great shape and will be used on my 6 month old very soon.

The only place I have found them is Walmart, but you really only need to buy a few and they will last forever. I have been using them straight for 4 years and they still look great. I throw them in the washer and dryer at least once a week and they have held up fine. I even wash them on the sanitize setting with all the dishtowels and kitchen washclothes.

Unfortunately, the toddlers do manage to figure out how to unsnap them. Luckily, the novelty of doing that usually wears off like most new accomplishments. I HIGHLY recommend this bib and doubt...
...

white27 says "Great for newborns" about Halo 2-in-1 Microfleece SleepSack Swaddle

I recieved this as a gift from Emerson Birthing Center when I had my third daughter who was well over 9 pounds. I used it alternately with the Swaddle Me I had for my other two daughters. However, my third daughter didn't really like to be swaddled much and did better with her arms free. Also, at 22 inches long, the newborn size sleepsack just didn't fit very well. However, the concept is great. It was a bit tricky to get the swaddle part of the sleepsack in the right position so she couldn't get her arms free. We were frequently readjusting it because she had broken loose. Despite these shortcomings, I would still recommend it to any new parent as it is much safer and easier than having a blanket in a newborns bed. I am very glad that it was given to me since with the third child I would not have gone out to buy any new baby gear, as newborn things are only used for the shortest amount of time.
...

white27 says "Great for newborns who like to be swaddled" about Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Swaddle Blanket

I got the swaddle me as a shower gift for my first child. I really like the ease of use and the soft fabric. She really enjoyed being swaddled tightly and this helped comfort her and get her back to sleep. the swaddle me is so much easier and quicker than trying to get them swaddled in a blanket. It also stays tight and unless you have a really active baby will stay in place and they won't kick out of it. However, the loud velcro often startled her into alertness when trying to change a diaper in the middle of the night. Also, she outgrew it very quickly so that the bottom was too tight around her legs. My second daughter didn't like to be swaddled at all and a sleepsack was a much better alternative for her. Unfortunately, you won't know how your child will like to sleep until you get them home so getting one after you see how they enjoy a traditional blanket swaddle would be a great idea.
...

white27 says "A sleepsack is a wonderful new parent gift" about Halo Micro Fleece Sleepsack Wearable Baby Blanket

With three girls under 5, I have had a lot of experience with babies. I think the Halo micro fleece sleepsack is a wonderful thing. It is so much safer than using a blanket. Also, you don't have to worry about the baby being uncovered or cold during the night. I give the sleepsack as a shower gift to all the new parents we know. My two oldest children used the sleepsack until they were well over 1 year old, just because they wouldn't stay under the covers. Since you can get the sleepsack in fleece or cotton, it is good for all kinds of weather. There is even one with a swaddle attachment for newborns who like to be swaddled. My hospital gave it to me when my third child was born. This is definitely the one piece of baby gear that I couldn't do without. They have been washed numerous times and have lasted wonderfully through all three girls and hopefully a fourth if we ever get to that point.
...

white27 says "Great for children" about Pixar Short Films Collection

This is a collection of all the animates shorts that are on the Pixar movie DVD's. So that means that you may already own many of them. However, if your children are like mine they enjoy these shorts even more than the movies and we end up watching them over and over again. We got this DVD to have them all in one place and very accessible for things like plane & car trips (which are long with a 3-yr-old and 1-yr old)....

white27 says "My 3-year-old's favorite game" about Cranium Cariboo Game

My 3-year-old daughter loves this game. It involves matching letter, colors, and shapes to open doors and collect balls to find the treasure. We have all the typical toddler games - Hi-Ho Cherry-o, Candyland, and Chutes & Ladders, but none of those will hold her attention nearly as well. She is now venturing into the more advanced level where all the letters and more numbers are involved (not just ABC & 1-4). ...

white27 says "I love my high chair" about Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair

I have used this high chair for 3 years and I love it. I have also used high chairs at many friends houses and this is by far the easiest one to use. Taking the tray on and off is easily done with one hand. The seat sits up forward enough (some high chairs are reclined even in the most forward position). The cushion comes off very easily and I have run my through the washing machine many times - and it still looks great. The only drawback is that my second daughter figures out how to take the tray off and send it flying accross the room when she was 16mos old, so now i just pull it up to the table and she eats with us!
...

This is a wonderful toy! The girls play with it everyday. It keeps my 1-yr old occupied for long periods of time (impressive for any toy). My 3-yr old now uses it as a door to her pillow forts. It is a little big, but well worth the space....

This was the greatest investment for my kitchen. My daughters can reach the counter to see & help with everything that is going on. It is safe, sturdy & will grow with the kids. This has made making meals so much easier because I don't have to carry a kid around!! Both girls fit up on it together. A must-have for every family house. The one thing that is used all day long....
