watchthestorms says "Leave it to Lammy!" about Sony - Um Jammer Lammy

Um Jammer Lammy is the sequel to the first PaRappa the Rapper game and follows along with the same rhythm game play. A bar appears at the top of the screen and after an npc character has sang a verse of a song you have to follow by pushing the buttons that appear on the line, resulting in Lammy playing a matching tune on guitar. It has a funny but strange plot line that will leave you wondering what exactly these guys were on while creating the game. The fast paced unpredictable nature of the game and the catchy tunes will leave you wanting more but the game play will leave most frustrated as it can get kind of confusing on harder levels. That’s what makes it a good challenge though. It’s pretty rare these days but if you come across it it’s definitely worth a play through or two. — ...

watchthestorms says "One of the most underappreciated survival horror games." about ASCII Entertainment - Clock Tower

Clock Tower was one of the best games released in the days of the psx. The first of the series released in the United States, it’s a wild point and click adventure set to what looks like a B rate horror film. Although the graphics aren’t the best they actually add to the overall creepy feel of the game. The plot is based around Scissorman, this mysterious unstoppable murderer/ monster that uses a giant pair of scissors as his murder weapon, hence the name. It may sound hokey but it’s seriously one of the scariest survival horror games I’ve ever played, even compared to Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The point and click aspect of the game may put some gamers off but it really shouldn’t. It isn’t hard to get used to and it’s totally worth it. The game consists of 3 random levels ranging from a university building, to a library, to a mansion and multiple endings according to which secret options you choose during the game making it high in...

watchthestorms says "A new branch for the clock tower series." about Capcom - Clock Tower 3

If you’re a long time fan of the Clock Tower Series Clock Tower 3 may be a bit disappointing. The first game after the original company was bought by Capcom; it’s taken an entirely new direction from the old school Clock Tower games. This is the first game in the series to use direct control over the character rather than point and click movement. It’s also changed its plot around quite a bit from the murder mystery/monster scenario to focus more on the occult and spirits. Although the changes throw me off a little I do like the game in itself. It has a nice plot line and it’s full of fast paced action and quick thinking. There are 5 levels with increasingly hard bosses all with their own weaknesses and strong points to overcome. — I wouldn’t really recommend this as an introduction to the Clock Tower series but it’s a great stand alone game or addition to the series as long as you can get around the major plot changes. — ...

watchthestorms says "My favorite game of all time!" about Capcom - PS2 - Resident Evil 4

This has to be my favorite game of all time. Action packed and full of puzzles so it takes a little brain power as well as skill. I first played the Game Cube version which I like more. It started out as a dare, my best friend at the time dared me to beat it because he couldn’t get past the opening sequence and he didn’t think I would be able to either. I wasn’t wild about survival horror or any type of horror for that matter, bar the Clock Tower games I grew up on. I accepted the challenge and 10 minutes in I was hooked. — The plot of this one is a little different. No details except that there are no zombies in this one. I won’t spoil any surprises in the game but the ps2 version has a separate ways mini game that the Game Cube version doesn’t. I can’t speak for the Wii version since I haven’t played it yet. That alone is worth buying the ps2 version. On the downside the graphics aren’t as great as on Game...

watchthestorms says "Everything you'd expect from Nintendo." about Nintendo GameCube Console

I love my GameCube as much as any of my earlier Nintendo consoles and the wii. Of course the graphics aren't as good Nintendo is more concerned with gameplay rather than graphics, if you're graphics hungry try an xbox or ps3. For what it is it's awesome There are tons of great games my favorites being Resident Evil 4 and Animal Crossing. It's also pretty cheap now days too which is a plus for someone who cant afford to pay a lot for a quality system. The price is around $50 I think and any games you buy for it will be compatible with a wii if you ever decide to upgrade. I honestly haven't had any problems with it, no glitches or defects. It was one of the first realsed in the original purple case and I bought mine used at least 3 years ago. They're tough and thats great for someone clumsy like me. More so than my ps2 that fails to play dvds after dropping it one time. Its been through 2 moves, the trip from wherever I bought it from on eBay, and whatever...
