veganmagic says "Vaseline Intensive Care helps to soothe dry, cracked skin" about Vaseline Intensive Care Total Moisture Dry Skin Lotion

For the past few winters I've alternated between Vaseline Intensive Care Total Moisture Dry Skin Products and other similar generic brand products. For general moisturizing, the generic brands worked as well as Vaseline, and were less expensive than Vaseline. But when the skin became so dry (from heating) that the cracked skin was painful, Vaseline worked better and faster than the generic brands to soothe the cracked skin and the pain. ...

veganmagic says "Probioic Pearls great for travelling" about Probiotic Pearls

Probiotic Pearls are great for travelling, because they are so small and easy to pack, and the enteric-coated pearls need no refrigeration to keep the beneficial bacteria at maximum potential. I've found that if I start taking Probiotic Pearls a week or so before travelling to places where the local water or food might give me the runs, the Probiotic Pearls help to avoid Delhi Belly or Montezuma's Revenge. It's also a good idea to take Probiotic Pearls after taking antibiotic medications, to help re-populate the intestinal tract with benefixial bacteria. ...

veganmagic says "Valerian root supplement calming, but need more to promote sleep" about Spring Valley Valerian Root Supplement

I have tried various herbal supplementals for calming nerves and promoting sleep, and I found that this valerian-only product did not work as well for me as other valerian-based products that contained passion flower and perhaps also skullcap. I don't mind the smell so much, if the product works well. In my case, I prefer products that contain more passion flower and/or lemon balm...both of which work far better than valerian for me....

veganmagic says "Aloe vera gel cools the burn" about Herbal Authority Aloe Vera Gel

I have an aloe vera plant in the kitchen for stovetop burn emergencies, but when I'm on a beach holiday, I don't always have an aloe vera plant nearby. This gel is great for relieving sunburn, especially for the first few days after sun overexposure (which is not too healthy...), and keeps the skin from drying, itching, and peeling. It's good for cracked skin, too, in the wintertime, far less expensive than urea creams and lotions....
