valw101 says "Makes great cakes!" about Wilton Angel Food Cake Pan

Making angel food cakes has been in my family for a very very long time. When I was a young girl I would go over to my great grandmothers house and I would love to help her make angel food cakes. She only used Wilton pans. She always only used the "good stuff" It was important for her to do things right. She was a very good cook and is famous in our family for making those cakes. When I recently got married my grandmother whose mother was the famous cake maker, gave me a very special shower gift. It was a gift bag and in it were all of the ingredients of how to make an angel food cake. All of the baking supplies including the Wilton cake pan. It was a neat gift. I love my Wilton pans because they are truly non stick. This makes clean up so much easier. There is no major scrubbing to when it comes to dishes usually a light scub will get the job done. They are also very durable pans. I would recommened these pans for any cooks.
...

valw101 says "Beautiful Pictures " about Target Home Moments

We first noticed this wall hanging while at Target when we were out shopping. When we went back to Target later to register for our wedding gifts I saw the photo again. I knew I had to put it on our registry. It is a kind of pricy item for a wedding gift so I did not know if we would get it or not. But I was so excited to see it among our wedding gifts when we opened them. It is truly one of my favorite gifts. It is a beautiful wall hanging. It is three different photos together in one frame. The frame is brown and the photos are in sepia tone, which is my favorite. The pictures are of the country, plain and simple. They show buildings, bridges and beautiful scenery. The sepia tone really brings out the photos I believe as it makes them really look and feel most rustic. This frame would go great in any home where you are using brown as an accent. It is a longer frame so it needs good space. We placed ours above our couch.
...

valw101 says "Get ready to work!" about Tae Bo - Instructional

AS a personal trainer I am naturally very interested in health and fitness. I like to try out new products and ideas to see how they work. I also like to try new things to amp up my workout a little bit so my mind doesnt get bored but also so my body is not doing the same thing every day but instead is being challenged by new activities. Tae Bo is definently challenging! It is very intense and you must be willing to work hard and sweat a lot! Billy Blanks is a no nonsense type of guy and he really throws this workout at you. What is great about this video though is that it is his instructional video so it is a little more slower paced than his newer ones. It is easier to follow along with it. You can also stop when you are feeling uncomfortable and catch a break or grab a drink and then begin again when you are ready. It is nice to be able to pop in this video and know you are getting a great workout and never stepping foot in a gym!
...

valw101 says "Only shampoo my husband will use!" about Herbal Essences Moisture Rich

Like the tagline says this is the only shampoo my husband will use!! Now I am not the picky one when it comes to shampoo or conditioner. I should probably be more picky but I usually go more for the cheaper stuff. My husband has very short hair though and tends to get dandruff easy. He has tried many dandruff shampoos but none seemed to work well for him. He tried the Herbal Essence moisturizing shampoo and it has seemed to work the best for him. Now we both use both the shampoo and conditioner. It leaves the hair feeling healthy and is especially helpful for dry or damaged hair. Another plus to the shampoo is that is smells great too. Both the shampoo and conditioner are thick and rich and really feel great on your hair. The shampoo is also reasonably priced especially compared to the salon stuff. We actually buy the products in bulk at Sams Club store and save even more money by doing this.
...

valw101 says "Great Color but had to do 3 coats!" about Dutch Boy Red

We just purchased a new home, our first home actually. It was a good find and a great home but the decor was all outdated. We decided to buy the place and thought we would do a lot of painting. We planned to paint a few bedrooms and kitchen, in the end we had painted every wall and I mean every wa in the entire 1700 square foot home. It was well worth it now as we love our new home and all of the colors we chose. Choosing colors was not always easy. We didnt exactly know what we were doing and what would go where. We ended up buying eight gallons on paint in one day adnd guessing where it would all go. We chose Dutch Boy brand because it was a brand we both new and trusted. I think this is important when choosing paint. More than likely you are going to be looking at that paint for many years and you want it to continue to look great. In the end we were happy with what we chose but the red color we did in our kitchen did take four coats. This was not fun to do and very time consuming but...
...

valw101 says " Makes everything in the kitchen easier!" about KitchenAid Artisan 10 Speed Stand Mixer

My husband and I just recently got married a month ago. Neither of us had ever had our own home or appliances for that matter. When it came to picking appliances for our gift registry we really researched equipment as to what we would like and would we wanted. I had seen this mixer often and it is one that friends of ours had recently purchased. I read a lot of reviews online for this product that were good. So I sent my sisters out on the day after thanksgiving to buy me this mixer. It was on sale at almost every store and I think they ended up buying it at Kohls. I was not sure I wanted to spend this much on a mixer but getting it on sale really helped. I have used it often since getting the product. I use it for everything from mashing potatoes, to making banana break and cakes. The one beater really works well to get all of the product from the bowl. and it makes it very easy to clean when the job is done.
...

valw101 says "My favorite four years!" about Iowa State University

I always say that I was born a cyclone, raised a cyclone and will die a cyclone and nothing will ever change that. So when it came to picking a college there really were no other options for me. Not that I felt like I really had to but I could not wait to head off to Ames in the fall. I knew where I was going to go for sure my junior year and by the beginning of my senior year I had picked my major. Most of my classmates had no idea what their futures held but not me I know I would love Iowa State! And love Iowa State i sure did. I moved into the dorms my freshman year and had the more fun iving there than I ever thought I would. It was a great place to meet new people and there was always something to do in the dorms. I lived in an off campus apartment for the next three years. Never far from campus only about 6 blocks at the most. ISU has a terrific bus system which is especially handy during the winter when that 20 minute walk seems like forever. I love the campus at Iowa State and the...
...

valw101 says "My new favorite kitchen appliance!" about Magic Bullet Express

I had seen this prouduct on the TV informercials for a long time and I am usually quite a sucker to buy them off of TV. But this time my fiance was like No I dont think so, those things off of TV rarley work well they are just scams. So I never purchased the product. We got married almost a month ago and even though the Magic Bullet was not on our gift registry we received it has a gift from a cousin of his. I was SO excited! No one understood what the big deal was but I was very excited because i had wanted one for a very long time.

The next day I opened the box and got started!! I have only had it for about two weeks so I have not made too many things yet. But what I have found is that is it amazing for making smoothies or icecream. For breakfast on the go I just toss is whatever fruit I have laying around, strawberries, bananas and a little orange juice and ice and I have a perfect breakfast smoothy that is not only easy but healthy!!!
...

valw101 says "Canons Make Great Cameras" about Canon - PowerShot A430 Digital Camera

I love my canon camera! It is very durable. It takes great photos. It is pretty easy to use even for those that are not tech savy. It is easy to zoom in and out of and the picture is very clear. I have had many Canon cameras but this is the latest one I have. The only thing I dont like about it is it is kind of bulky. I wish it was a little lighter and more flat so it would fit into my pocket. Instead thought I just bought a cheap camera case and it fits in there fine. I like that is uses double (AA) batteries. I just buy the rechargable ones and then just reuse and reuse and reuse the same ones over and over. This saves me a lot of money on batteries. It is also very easy to download these photos onto your computer. I just plug int the cord and turn it on. I have never had a problem with the photos. i would highly recommend this camera or any Canon to anyone! They are all my family buys now.
...
