usar1984 says "Wears out too quickly" about Tupperware Can Opener

I bought this Tupperware Can Opener as I thought it was great that there were no sharp edges after using it. I also thought it would be easier on my hands. It did not leave sharp edges (good), but was actually hard on my wrist. It was okay to learn how to use, but it did not always cut like it should. Then, after just a few years, it stopped cutting. I asked about warranty (ask before next time) & learned it only had a one year warranty. To replace it, it would cost $30. I bought another one at Wal-Mart (regular style) that has a lifetime warranty. If $30 every few years is a cost you can afford, it is okay. Otherwise, spend less than $10 for a lifetime...

usar1984 says "new to the area or looking for new things to do...?" about Meetup.com

Meetup.com has something for everyone. If you don't see a group for you, you can start one. Groups are designated by area and interest. You can meet different people, learn a new hobby, go places you wouldn't have otherwise gone, etc. I initially learned about these groups through another single person. I joined a hiking group, a singles group, and a dining out group. There are so many activities I know about that I wouldn't have known about before even though I have lived in this area for 13 years. I have met people I wouldn't have otherwise met despite the variety of things with which I have been involved. I live on the East Coast & told a friend on the West Coast about meetup. She joined a photography club and is loving it. You have nothing to lose by checking this site...

usar1984 says "A great way to save landfill space, save money, & help others" about Freecycle

FreeCycle is a bunch of people around the nation who are grouped by location. The purpose is to match items with need and prevent waste. Think "one man's junk is another man's treasure". Example - I have a dog house I no longer need. I post it & a person needing a dog house emails me. We arrange a pick-up time. I get rid of my dog house, the person gets what they need for gas money only, and we save space in landfills. I actually posted a 'want' for a piano and received an upright grand piano. My cost was time, gas money, and labor! I now have live music every day as my sons play on their latest 'toy'. Check it out and I believe you will be glad you did. —...
