unrooly says "Another Shopping Rag" about Real Simple Magazine

I *hate* this magazine. With a passion. The title is "Real Simple". It should be "Real Simple Ways To Blow All Your Money On More Crap And Destroy The Earth Faster in Order to Acheive the Appearance Of Simplicity". I think that kind of says it all. — — Rather than having anything to do with simplicity - it helps you trash the things you already own - and REPLACE it all with NEW stuff that is definitely *not* inexpensive. You can LOOK like you live the simple life. At a cost. Simplifying your life is not about buying new Stuff. It's about NOT buying new stuff. And this entire magazine is a giant ad for Stuff and More Stuff. —...

unrooly says "Love it." about Nintendo Wii Console

This thing is amazing. I wasn't excited about getting one. But we got one for my son (and the other boys in the house) and I love it! It's very easy to control and the games I've played are fantastic. Big Brain really makes you think and, well, use your brain. The Wii Sports package is a blast. Raving Rabbids had us all playing and laughing for hours. It's not a typical gaming system. I never understood a those other ones, with this one I can't wait for new games! ...

unrooly says "Economical and VERY environmentally friendly" about Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap

I don't use the Peppermint Dr Bronners. Personally I use the Baby (unscented) for bath and body, and the Tea Tree for dishes and other cleaning. I love this stuff. At first I didn't, because I was using WAY too much. I now use a ratio of no more than 1 of soap to 4 of water. We use a foaming dispenser now which makes it so we can use even less soap to water and still get the benefits of the soap. What takes getting used to is that it really is *soap* and not detergent, which is what almost all commercial "soap" actually is - including shampoos. We use it on our skin in the shower and hands at the sink. It's amazing for my face. We haven't used it on our hair so I can't attest to that. It was leaving a film on our dishes, until I added a teaspoon of salt (hard water) AND lowered the ratio down to about 1:4 of soap to water. Again using the foam dispenser. It *seems* you need a lot more, because you have to put more...

unrooly says "This must be the best" about Cosmic Catnip by Cosmic Pet

I'm not sure what the difference is, but I have one cat who couldn't care less about catnip unless it's this brand. This brand and ONLY this brand. My mother's cat loves catnip but goes to much greater lengths (and does much sillier things) to get his paws on this brand over the brand she used to buy. This really is the only kind I'll buy anymore. ...

unrooly says "Can't live without it" about Braun hand blender - MR400WH

I replaced my old Braun for the new one. What a difference! It works much harder and faster than the old one. It chops 4 cloves of garlic up in three squeezes of the handle. Same with fresh herbs. I can blend soups or beans for burritos in a matter of seconds right on the stove. Saves lots of time and cleaning. ...
