try2dwjw says "Camera Happy with my Canon Rebel XT/350D" about Canon - EOS 350D/Rebel XT SLR Digital Camera

I'm a fairly new SLR user. I researched for over a year, before deciding to purchase a Canon 350D/Rebel XT. I bought my baby for Christmas 2008. Since then I have taken THOUSANDS of pictures. My poor computer is getting slower by the second. I've always been snap-happy with a camera in my hands but, point-and-shoot digitals were slowing me down. No more! With my Rebel I can shoot about 6 frames per second in action mode... which I will say drives my family absolutely insane! They don't appreciate their personal paparazzi. My daughter, however, loves the attention!

I'm still playing around with all the settings... I will likely never know how to use them all, as there are so many. This is one of the things I loved most about this camera - it grows with you. It's as easy as a point and shoot- just select Auto and click away. Or you can move the dial around and play with other settings- for portrait, action, night mode, etc. But it's also a serious professional machine with the ability to...
...

try2dwjw says "Addicted to Cricut - But not paying an arm and a leg for it!" about Cricut

I got my Cricut for Christmas in 2007. I have to admit I didn't use it all that much at first. Then Provocraft came out with a TON of exciting, new cartridges. I bought some and now I'm HOOKED!

My favorite cartridge is Storybook. I has everything from princess crowns to birds- even an owl. And it has a TON of swirls and flourishes to fit everynook and cranny of your scrapbook pages, handmade cards, posters, and decor. AND it also comes with a complete font that is to-die-for! I can't wait to buy some vinyl and make some shapes/phrases for my walls. I live in an apartment so I'm thrilled at the idea of decorating my walls without leaving a mark behind.

The reason I bought the Cricut was to save money in the long run. I can now cut any font or shape I own in any size (1" to 5 1/2" with the personal). Just the value of being able to make my own custom titles and letters alone is priceless! And to make them out of ANY paper (as well as other materials, such as felt, cork, vinyl, etc) -...
...
