tlrclark says "Very convenient" about Netflix

Netflix has been incredibly convenient for me, especially before I had any TV reception. I find it great for both feature-length films and TV shows on DVD. Generally, the movies are very available, although occasionally brand new releases can take a little while. Overall, however, the turn around time from movie to new movie is 2-3 days. They don't ship on the weekends....

tlrclark says "Moving." about Poisonwood Bible

I read this book years ago and I still remember it quite vividly. The imagery is very evocative, especially important since it mostly takes place in Africa and I have never been there. Like all of Barbara Kingsolver's novels, the characters feel real from day one and only continue to develop. Amazing....

tlrclark says "My favorite" about Real Simple Magazine

This is my favorite magazine. It's a pleasure whenever it comes. It's big, juicy, and has gorgeous photos and tips to lead an ideal sort of life. Even if we don't get there, it's nice to know that there's an example out there. Yes, many of the items featured are expensive, but I think of it more as a fantasy world than real life....

tlrclark says "Not as good as Ziploc" about Hefty One Zip Storage Bags (1 Gallon)

I find these to be not as good as Ziploc brand, or even Target brand for that matter. The sliding tabs at the top tend to fall off or break, limiting my ability to reuse bags. The bags themselves don't break, however, I still don't trust liquids in them....

tlrclark says "Great for a beginner." about Janome Sewing Machines - Janome Harmony 8048

My first sewing machine, and more than adequate for everything I want to make. It can have many different foot options, but I've found the default one to be fine. Mostly I use it for sewing small household projects and making steeks in handknit sweaters, but it can also make buttonholes....
