The pieces are made of colorful, fun, durable materials. We have had the Weebles castle for about one and a half years as well as some of the other  play sets. This is a toy that you can keep adding to. I have a 2, 6, and 10 year old that play with these toys and they hardly show any wear....they are that durable.
