theresekng says "A dream product" about Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation

I rarely wear makeup, so the fact that I'm giving this product 5 stars is really something. It's non-intimidating and very easy to use. I apply it with only my fingertips. It's very light, but at the same time, offers very good coverage. It also lasts a long time, both on my face and in the bottle, since a little goes a very long way. Good...

theresekng says "Just a solid, boring airline" about Northwest Airlines

Flying business class on Northwest has been a good experience for me, although the service is run-of-the-mill and no-frills compared to the thoughtful way that Asian airlines like Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways treats its flyers. The Thai Airways lounge in Bangkok, for example, offers free spa services along with hot Thai food. Cathay's lounge in Hong Kong has a noodle and dimsum bar. Northwest, in comparison, offers crackers, cheddar cheese, bad coffee, soda, and beer. I think the best food I had at one lounge was a danish and some yogurt. — However, Northwest does its best to accommodate, and I give them props for this. Once, I got to the airport late (entirely my fault), and Northwest gave me a ticket for the same flight 2 days later (the next time there was seat availability)--at no extra charge. —...

theresekng says "A wonderful, unusual, beautiful book" about The Time Traveler's Wife

This is a lovely book. In turns, it's funny, poignant, thought-provoking, heartbreaking. I grew to truly care about the characters, Henry and Clare. I wouldn't say that this is a tragic love story as some people have described. I think that this is a book that illustrates true love and uses a fantastic backdrop to show just how far true love will...

theresekng says "A great ride" about Honda Civic - 2007

Riding the Civic with a CD playing in the background feels like entering a classy, well-appointed lounge bar or cafe. The car is good at keeping external sounds out, so you feel cocooned in your own world. — On top of this, it's fuel-efficient and very practical, so it doesn't even feel like you're paying extra for the--err--atmosphere. —...

theresekng says "A handy business phone" about Nokia - e61i Cell Phone

The Nokia interface is very easy to figure out and use without having to constantly refer to the manual--although I've been a Nokia user for years, so I suppose it's easy to upgrade and pick up where my older phone left off. I was immediately able to surf the Internet as soon as I took the phone from the box and inserted the battery. — The PC Data Suite that came with the phone allowed me to synch phone data with Outlook, which is a great productivity enhancer. My phone now has my complete to-do checklist, calendar, and notes. It's easy to input data into the phone with the QWERTY keyboard. I also downloaded a free e-reader (MobiPocket) and am now happily reading an ebook from my phone. The screen is nice and wide, but it does make it a little weird to make calls, as the phone spans my entire palm. — I do miss the Palm desktop, though, as this phone has replaced my old Palm Tungsten T5 completely. —...

theresekng says "Absolutely my favorite scent" about Philosophy Amazing Grace Spray Fragrance 2 oz

I was with a colleague when she put on this scent, and I immediately went out and bought the same thing for myself. I love how fresh and light this scent is, but stays on the whole day without me getting sick of it at some point. — I also like the simple bottle and label design. It's not pretentious and yet looks very nice. — Truly amazing! —...

theresekng says "Too expensive, too easy, but got good connections out of it" about New York University

While I was glad for the free toilet paper that university housing gave us poor souls who couldn't afford to buy our own, I thought we deserved at least 2-ply stuff for the tuition we paid. Oh, and free beads during mardi gras in the student center. Woohoo! — The one good thing, though, was that my department chair recommended me for an internship at a publishing company that eventually gave me a scholarship. So I did feel that someone in NYU went out of their way for me. —...

theresekng says "A solid and reliable computer that hasn't let me down" about IBM Thinkpad

This is my second Thinkpad and I'm very satisfied with it. My first Thinkpad, also of the R series, had a defective hard drive (it conked out about a week after I purchased it)--which would lead one to think that I would never buy Thinkpads again. But after-sales service was pretty good. I explained that I had a presentation the next day, and they repaired it within the same day. The technician put in overtime and finished at about 7 or 8 pm. While waiting, I got a hair treatment at the salon. —...
