terrylynn57 says "Army Wives brought me back to TV!" about Army Wives

As a wife and mother who is also employed as a 911 dispatcher, I rarely watch TV. If I am not working one of my 12 hour shifts, I am sleeping, reading, or catching up on my email, not to mention grocery shopping, housework, etc...., but my attention was caught by an online mention of the show Army Wives, and being an ex Army Wive, I decided it might be fun to check it out.

I had already missed the first two seasons, so I pulled up my Netflix account online, and requested the first season. When my first disk arrived, I waited for some quiet time, and curled up to see what all the fuss was about.

By the time the last of the four episodes on the disc had finished, I was hooked! I don't think I have enjoyed a show so much since Dallas (a 1980's series, for those of you under 30). While real Army life wasn't quite like the show, it did take me back to those days when I lived on base, and I could not wait to start on disc number two. Now I know I am going to have to watch all of the shows...
...

terrylynn57 says "Amazon Kindle-a reader's best friend!" about Amazon - Kindle

For months after Amazon released the Kindle, I haunted the site endlessly, dreaming of having one for my very own. Having been an avid reader since childhood, the idea of carrying a stack of books in a small device was enticing indeed.

In September of 2008, my husband, probably tired of listening to me ramble on and on about the Kindle, handed me his credit card and asked me to please go ahead and order it. Three days later, it was mine!

The Kindle is a truly amazing device. It holds hundreds of books, yet fits in the side pocket of my purse. I am never without a nice selection of books to read, and the Kindle even has newspapers and magazines available for wireless download. (Reader's Digest is my favorite) You can either turn on Whispernet and wirelessly download books from Amazon.com, or connect it to your computer and transfer the books. If you are reading a book, and have to stop for a bit, the Kindle goes into screensaver mode, and when you come back, you hit two little buttons,...
...

terrylynn57 says "Hypnose is sensuality in a bottle." about Lancome Hypnose Fragrance

Perfume has always been an essentual part of my routine. For years, I played around with different scents, with a preference for those that were soft, yet had staying power.

About three years ago, my husband and I were strolling through the mall, and I stopped at the Lancome counter to look at a lovely shaped bottle with lavender colored perfume inside. After spritzing a small amount onto a paper strip, I decided that it smelled so good I would try it on my wrist. Well- my husband immediately demanded that I buy a bottle of Hypnose! He said that it was the best fragrance he had ever smelled, and since that time, he has never let me run out of Hypnose.

Lancome has wonderful deals with Hypnose. I have collected many totes, makeup bags and samples of makeup- just by buying a bottle of my favorite perfume.

The scent of Hypnose is soft, yet sensual. I have gotten quite a few compliments from complete strangers when I was wearing it, and I intend to keep buying and wearing Hypnose!
...

terrylynn57 says "Excellent for holding your GPS! " about Garmin Friction Mount (EG10352)

After purchasing our new Garmin GPS, I began looking at holders. The suction cup idea did not appeal to me, as I was worried about it coming loose and dropping my GPS, or having someone see it, and break into my car. While browsing Amazon.com, I came across the Garmin Friction Mount, and saw that it had a great number of positive reviews. I decided to order it from Dell, and when it arrived, I was very pleased.

The Garmin Friction Mount is heavy, and it feels like little sandbags with rough bottoms. A plastic piece in the middle has a ball that you attach your GPS holder to, and then you can swivel the GPS for perfect viewing. I have sat the holder in the middle of the dashboard, in the driver's side corner of the dashboard, and even in the middle of the floorboard, and it never moves! I can slid the mount up under the edge of my seat when I get out of the car for shopping, and I pop the GPS into a side pocket of my purse for safekeeping. At around $30, this friction mount is worth every...
...

I had been hovering over the GPS display at Target each time we visited, until my dear husband finally told me to just go ahead and get one. After researching different brands online, I finally settled on the Garmin - Nuvi 265wt GPS. It was easy to figure out, and had some fantastic features. Upon buying it, I was allowed a free 2010 map update from Garmin.com, which was simple to download. This unit has free traffic information, and bluetooth phone compatibility-which I love. No more earpieces or pulling off the road to talk to my family or friends on the cell phone! I already have a list of favorite places with directions loaded. My husband and I enjoyed going for a long ride last week. We knew where we were going , and programmed it into the Garmin, but we took a different route, just to see if this device would get us where we were going if we made unmapped turns. It recalculated, and rerouted us evertime until we ended up exactly where we had planned!

terrylynn57 says "A tasty way to get your calcium!" about Viactiv Calcium Chews

After turning 50 earlier this month, my doctor sent me to have a bone density scan done. Although the test was quick and painless, I was nervous about the results. A few days later, the doctor's office called to tell me that I was showing some slight bone loss in my back, and they advised me to increase my calcium to avoid further loss.
I do not like pills, and while some antacids are recommended for extra calcium, I was looking for something more to my liking. I went to the drugstore and scanned the shelves. Finally, I noticed the pretty purple box of Viactiv. Picking it up, I examined the information on the box. Each chew has 500 mg of calcium, plus vitamins D and K.
The flavors were intesting too. These little chews come in caramel, raspberry, french vanilla, strawberry creme, chocolate mint, and milk chocolate.
I chose the milk chocolate. As soon as I paid for the chews, I went to my car and proceded to open the box. I unwrapped a chew, and popped it into my mouth, Wow! It was actually......

I bought my son a Playstation 2 when they were first released, and he played it for years with no problem. When it finally gave up the ghost, I replaced it with the newer, slim line Playstation2. Again, the folks at Sony have made a quality product. We have had no problems whatsoever with this system, and believe me, it has thousands of hours of use on it! My son was interested in the Playstation3 when it was released, but with it's high price tag, I am sure it will be a while before we invest in one. Playstation2 is still going great though, with lots of new titles still being released. My son has watched DVDs, played CDs, and enjoyed game after game on this system, and he says that the graphics are good, and the games that are coming out are interesting. Sony has proved itself as a name to rely on....

After going through three or four coffee makers, last year my husband and I decided to go shopping for something that might last more than a year. Since he drinks at least one pot of coffee per day, we needed something that would hold up. Browsing through the shelves in Target, we came across a Bunn coffeemaker with a steel thermal carafe. We decided to buy this coffee maker. At first we were thrilled with the Bunn. After all, it made a pot of coffee in just a minute, and the thermal carafe kept the coffee hot for hours! Unfortunately, after a frew months, the spout on the pot began to dribble coffee down the sides when you were pouing coffee. We tried washing and wiping the lip of the pot off, and still it leaked. I went onto the Bunn website and found out that some other people had found this to be a problem also. I contacted Bunn's customer service, and they informed me that there had been a defect in the earlier pots, but the problem had been corrected, and they would send me a new......

Two years ago, my husband stopped to look at the satellite radio display in a local retail store. He read the information, and told me that it sounded like a good idea. We spoke to several of his friends who have XM radio, and they all recommended it highly. Since it was in the fall of the year, I said nothing more to my husband about it, but waited until I went to town without him and bought the Delphi Roady 2 Satellite Receiver. I then came home and contacted XM radio to activate my subscription.
Christmas morning, my dear husband was overjoyed to unwrapped the Delphi reciever, and he set it up within minutes. He spent most of the day sitting at the computer, playing solitaire and listening to his satellite radio. My husband still tells everyone he meets about how great XM radio is, and how much he has enjoed it. This Christmas will be two years, and the joy of this particular present has never worn off.
...

Books A MIllion is the place I go whenver I leave home. The stores I have visited have always been clean, and the books pleasingly arranged. The first year I discovered BAM, I bought so many books that they sent me a gold card! I never have to renew my membership, and that's a fantastic plus!
BAM also has a coffee shop inside, called Joe Mugs. My husband and I have spent hours and hours sitting and sipping coffee there.
I have been an Alltel customer for over 4 years now, and I am very satisfied. Their customer service reps have always been polite and helpful, and they sell good products. My plan is a family plan, and the My Circle feature has kept us from ever using over my anytime minutes.
The only thing I can say that is not 100% positive is that they need to put up more towers in eastern NC. I cannot get any signal at my job, but US Cellular customers have no problem!
Overall, I would highly recommend Allel to everyone.
...

When I fist saw the Hostess 100 calorie cakes, my first thought was that they were too good to be true. I bought a box to take to work, and was pleasantly surprised at the tast of them! They were light, not dry, and very tasty. Yes,they were a bit small, but they made me feel satisfied. Eaten slowly and savored, they provide a nice sweet treat without tons of calories. I would reccommend them to anyone!...

I have tried almost every brand of bottled water on the market, and Figi water is the best by far! The water has a clean, fresh taste, unlike some bottled waters that taste like the bottle itself.
The bottle itself is pleasing to the eye, giving you the impression of a tranquil island, where sparkling water flows fresh and cold from natural sources.
Figi water can be hard to find, but it is well worth the search!
...
