tereasjoy says "Cheaper alternative to Britax Marathon" about Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat

We bought the Graco Nautilus for my 5 year old daughter to use in my husband's van. We have the Britax Marathon in my van, and we really like it. However, it is quite expensive, so when we found this seat by Graco, we decided to buy it. I have only seen them at Walmart around us.

This seat is for children up to 65 pounds and 52" tall with the 5 point harness, and 100 pounds and 57" tall as a booster seat. It is important to keep a child in a 5 point harness as long as possible.

I was hoping that this seat would come in a pretty girly color, but it was only available in black, so we go that. When I got it home, it did require a little bit of assembly. Nothing hard and no tools were required. You just have to snap a few things into place. I did it in under 5 minutes. The seat seems quite sturdy once everything is snapped into place.

My 5 year old can buckle herself into this seat (although, I always check to make sure she is buckled in correctly.) The seat was easy to hook into our 1998 Safari...
...

tereasjoy says "Great carseat for older child " about Britax Marathon

We bought the Britax Marathon for my oldest daughter when she outgrew her regular carseat. We wanted her to be in a 5 point harness as long as possible, because it is safer than just a booster seat or a seatbelt alone.

This carseat has a weight limit of 65 pounds and height limit of 49". My oldest daughter outgrew the seat when she turned 9, so we bought her the Britax Regent. Our youngest daughter now uses it. She is 47 1/2" tall, and she still has some room to grow before she outgrows the seat. We have never had the straps on this seat twist, which is really nice. It has a tether strap, which should always be used, for added safety. We are able to fit this seat very tightly into our Chevy Venture, with bucket seats.

The seat is certified for use on airplanes, so we take it with us when we fly on Southwest. It fit easily into the seats.

We have only used this seat as front facing, but it is also rear facing up to 35 pounds. Rear facing is the safest position for children, so you should...
...
