tdiprincess says "The greastest taste since Iced tea!" about Lipton - Diet Sparkling green tea (strawberry kiwi)

Recently dear hubby and I were looking for some low calorie beverages for work. We work at the same place and we eat lunch together. Anyhow, we both enjoy iced tea. We came across Diet Lipton Sparkling green tea (strawberry kiwi). I was a little weary of the idea of a "sparkling" flavored iced tea. But, the hubby and I decided to go on a new adventure.
We bought a few bottles and different flavors.

The diet strawberry kiwi green tea has a very good flavor. They have put in just the right amount of "sparkling". This makes it quite refreshing. The overall taste is very light and fruity. I would highly receommend this to people who want to try something new, who enjoy lipton iced teas already and anyone who wants a zero-calroie alternative to soda-pop but still want a yummy taste!

Enjoy!
...

tdiprincess says "Now featuring: natural zero calorie sweetner!" about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

I was able to enjoy the sample of Purevia sent to me. I have tried it in my coffee and in iced tea. The taste is pretty good. I personally am a Splenda-lover, if that helps anyone know what my "tastes" would be.

My initial swallow of coffee sweetened with Purevia was not what I expected. I am used to the flavor of Splenda. The taste is good but there is an aftertaste that seems a little biter. I continued drinking and as I was able to get used to the aftertaste I enjoyed the flavor more.
Once the consumer can get past the aftertaste Purevia is a very good zero calorie sweetner. I'd rank it a little under Splenda just because of the aftertaste. If Purevia can get rid of or change the aftertaste, it would rank just as good, if not better than Splenda.

Zero calorie sweetners need to be tried out. Everyone seems to like specific ones. I enjoy Splenda, but can't stand Sweet 'n' low. My MIL swears by Sweet 'n' Low but can't stand Splenda.
Please try Purevia for yourself to see if you like it!...
...

tdiprincess says "Perfect Balance between Sweet and Salty!" about Nature Valley - Granola nut clusters

I received a coupon for these little guys, Nature Valley Nut Clusters, and decided that I just had to try them! They come in 2 varieties (that I know of) Nut lovers, which is peanut and granola based and Almond, which is almond and granola based. I decided this time on the almond variety. Partially because this had 4g of protein per serving, compared to 2g per serving in the nut lover's.

The first bite was sensational. I was quite surprised by the taste. I didn't expect it to be salty at all. But, the saltyness with the sweetness makes these clusters awesome! They are the perfect size for snacking on a few here and there. A word of caution: Don't keep the bag with you! You WILL eat more than one serving!

These are highly recommended for people who enjoy snacking, granola bars, nuts, the combination of sweet and salty, and anyone who wants to try a new enjoyable snack!

tdiprincess says "Would you like to actually make money for your opinion?" about MySurvey

In the last few months, I've joined the world of taking surveys. This can be done online, by phone and by mail. One of the survey provider sites is MySurvey.com.
In my spree of signing up for multiple survey websites, I joined My Survey. When I first joined and started taking surveys for them I wasn't a huge fan. I kept getting a bunch of 10 point surveys. They were short, usually less than 5-minute surveys, so I would do them.
Then one day I took a quick survey and they asked if I wanted to do another survey. I did, I qualified and I got 1,025 points for the survey. It wasn't very long, maybe 30-40minutes.
I thought great! Then I looked at their rewards, 1,000 points is equal to $10.00. which is really good. I had just made better than $10.00/hr.!
This site come highly recommended. They always have cool sweepstakes. They keep their low point surveys very short, and their high point ones reasonably long.
This survey company actually pays for your opinion!
Oh, and if anyone would like a referral,......

tdiprincess says "Bully Hill's Love My Goat. Not to sweet, not too dry!" about Bully Hill , Red Wine

This Bully Hill's Love My Goat is a wine that I have had many times. Bully Hill is a wine maker in the New York region. They have a nice line of wines. All varying in colors, flavors, and tastes.
The Love My Goat is a happy medium between dry and sweet. It is a great wine for those starting to venture into dryer wines, but not wanting to jump right in. It is a good proud pleaser as most people like it. It works both for bitters and sweeties!
This wine although being red also tastes very good chilled. Served at room temperature this wine is good with a nice plate of spaghetti dinner. When served chilled it goes great with apetizers and dessert or just to drink.
Bully Hill wines are generally a crowd pleaser. They aren't too expensive and taste like they should be more expensive! This is a great buy. I highly recommend venturing into a bottle of Love My Goat next time you choose Bully Hill!
...

tdiprincess says "The V1- is one of the only few Radar Detectors to trust!" about Valentine One - V1 Radar Detector

There are tons of Radar Detectors out on the market these days. The question is: Which one do you buy?
There are cheap ones and expensive ones. There are some things in life that cheaper is better. Radar Detectors are not one of those things! The more you spend the better off you are!
The Valentine One is a state of the art Radar Detector. It can sense radar from the front, back and sides and tell you exactly where it is. It shows X, K, Ka and Laser. It can detect from miles down the road. Which gives a speeder enough time to slow down when needed.
Cheaper radar detectors can only sense what's in front of them. They also only detect about 0.5miles away. Which is not enough time to slow down.
No one should ever completely rely on a Radar Detector. For example, the one limit of the Valentine One is that while it detects laser it can only do so when you're getting hit with laser. In order to be hit with laser the police officer must be able to reflect if off something on your car such as a license......

I found this website thanks to someone on viewpoints. I've been checking it out for the last month. I must say that this has definitely opened up a whole new world of online deals. There are a number of forums that lead people to good deals and freebies. However many of those have a lot of scams.
Spoofee however is not like that. They keep a pretty tight control on who joins and whose posting. So far I don't think I have stumbled across any scam deals put up there by any of the members. They also offer some valuable information on online survey taking.
I highly recommend this site just to check out some coupons and freebies.
Some of the cons are that the posts can be a little confusing. But generally if you wait a little bit someone on the board will explain it better. At times the deals have expired, but they are good about marking that on the actual thread title instead of deleting it. There are some deals and freebies that don't work for everyone. Sometimes they're looking for a specific......

When I first saw the recipe I wasn't overly impressed. However, I took another look.
They have TONS of recipes for everything! You can search for a recipe. They also have sub-categories.

Recently one of my good friends got this new gadget. The Reynold's Handi-vac. When I first saw it I thought, "whoa.. what is that?" He explained what it was. I didn't think it was very practical.
However, I decided to do some research after he demonstrated it to us. It seemed really great. I did the research. It is only $9.99 for the handi-vac and the bags are about the same price for regular ziploc bags!
I still held off and researched some other options. I looked at the Foodsaver and other food vacuuming systems. They're generally at least $100. They seem to take up a lot of space (which we don't have much of) and the bags are quite costly. Also, people complained of the heat seal coming undone eventually.
I also found that some people would rewash their bags. So if I'm just throwing veggies in the bag, I'll rewash it and use it for veggies again.
We broke down and bought one. Although, me being as frugal as I am found one on Ebay. We ended up paying .99cents and $6.50 in shipping. So I......

The other day I stumbled upon the site Caloriesperhour.com. When I first took a look I wasn't really too sure about it. However as I began to read on it has some very good and valuable information.
The first thing they have and encourage everyone to read is a tutorial. It looks at quite a number of topics. It begins with their weight loss philosophy. They discuss that in order to lose weight and keep it off one must change their lifestyle of eating and exercise in order to lose long term. The next topic is eating disorders. It is very timely and askes some in depth questions about why one eats.
They also offer a calorie calculator, the BMI and RMR indexes. It also has a special calculator that helps determine how much of a calorie deficit one needs each day and for how long to reach their goal weight.
Don't be mistaken, doing it their way means a complete change in lifestyle. This is not a crash course diet. One isn't meant to lose multiple pounds a week. This shows a longterm loss in weight......

When we were in North Carolina visiting my husband's sister and brother-in-law they had these Reese's 100 calorie wafers! They found them at their local BJ's wholesale. They shared some with us. These babies taste AMAZING!!! They're thin and chocolatey.
The wafers come in a packet of two each. Each box has I think 7 of the packets. These will go quick so stock up! They help keep portion control. Although sometimes you'll just want to keep eating them up. But they're a good handy snack to enjoy!

My husband and I enjoy ice cream. Okay, he LOVES ice cream. When we first got married we had a gift card for Bed Bath and Beyond. We went looking around the store. He was begging for an ice cream maker.
I thought about it and set up a couple rules if I said yes. First, no more store bought. Second, not using whole milk or heavy cream for ice cream making every time. He agreed to the terms.
So, we bought the Cuisine Art Automatic Ice Cream Maker.
We got it home and we excitedly opened the package. There is a main base which holds the outlet plug and an on/off switch. Then there is the tub, which gets frozen and holds the ice cream mixture. Next, there is a white round spatula-like contraption that does the actual turning. Last, there is a clear plastic lid that holds it all together. The package also came with a set of instructions and some good basic recipes to start making ice cream.
After opening the new gadget, I read a basic recipe. We made chocolate ice cream the first time. We ran......

Wall-E was another cartoon animation film with a target audience of kids. However, a movie goer could delve further into hidden meaning than any child would. This was a movie that makes a person really think about where they are headed.
It starts out showing Wall-E the robot that has been alone for 700 years. He is the only robot left cleaning up the garbage left behind by the human race. While he has been alone he has started collecting things of interest. They also show little bits of newspapers and news stations showing a little bit of what exactly happened.
One day a ship comes down and drops out a robot. Wall-E falls in love with her. And slowly she falls in love too. Until one day she turns off and Wall-E thinks she's dead. A few days go by and a ship comes to take her away. Wall-E holds on and learns the physics of space.
They come to the big ship where the humans have been living wastefully for the past 700 years. We had a little extra money so we decided to start looking.
The first place we went was Rosa's. I know quite a number of people who have shopped and bought from Rosa's.
The salesman was a complete waste of time! He kept telling us what we wanted and what we needed. He would only show us what was the latest and best. We asked to see anything on sale and he pointed them out but said we wouldn't want those. Don't get us wrong, he was very friendly, but at Rosa's they're only out to get more money. Which I suppose most stores are, but some beat around the bush.
We found a set we liked. He explained their warranty. But, we said that we were still looking and that we would come back.
The next place we went was Sears. The salesman was a really great guy!
Towne restaurant is a pretty good place to eat. They have good coffee and tea also.
Towne features a lot of Greek food and some American food also.
Breakfast can be a Greek omlet-with feta cheese and olives served with a pita. They also have regular omlets: ham and cheese, western, etc. and they all come served with a pita.
Lunch will have soulvakis, lemon chicken and rice soup. They also serve some sandwiches and burgers. Towne also features a variety of salads.
Appetizers they have one that is called in English flaming cheese. I can't remember the specific name of it. But this is something everyone must try at least once! They bake the cheese and then serve it on a platter with roasted tomatoes.
Neutrogena and a few other companies have started coming out with a helio-plex version of sunscreen. It protects people from UVA and UVB, not just one or the other. I always thought that sunscreens covered it all, but I guess not. And here we are!
I was at a local wholesale store (BJ's) and in need of suncreen. I sw the Neutrogena cooling mist, helio-plex sunblock and went, meh, sure I'll try it. The package came with 2 bottles of the stuff too!
The cooling mist has 45spf, which is pretty good coverage. And the mist is quite cooling. It has a nice smell to it, it can be a bit strong, but its a good smell.
The great thing is that it is a steady stream! With one press of a button I have my face, neck, arms and legs done pronto!
It lasts pretty much all day. I'm generally outside for a good portion of the days and it does a really good job protecting me.

I went to make some Angel food cake this weekend and quickly realized that I would need a sifter. I have wanted to get one for a while, but when it comes to gadgets in the kitchen, I wait to get one until I need one.
I decided to grab a sifter when I was at Wegman's. They have an area called cooker's nook. They have many of the latest gadgets for the kitchen. They only had one type of sifter. It was the Oxo Good Grips sifter. I almost missed it when I saw it. It is no ordinary sifter.
The old fashioned sifters had a little knob off the side of the sifter and you cranked it until the flour was sifted. Not this baby!
The Oxo has of course a really nice grip. As you pick it up, you feel that the handle moves from side to side. Yes, all you have to do to sift flour now is move the handle from side to side.
It also comes with a clever pull off top and bottom. You can fill up what you need into the sifter, get positioned over your bowl and pull of the bottom. It decreases the mess made.
The sifter......

tdiprincess says "Ever wanted to try something new and refreshing? " about Driscoll's Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar Strawberries

A while ago I heard about the idea of Strawberries with balsamic vinegar. Right I thought that the idea of putting those two together was wrong! However, as time has gone on, I decided to try it. I hadn't gotten the chance to, until now!
The basic balsamic vinegar and strawberries recipe is really quite simple.
It's as follows:
Per pound of sliced strawberries
add: 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar (the older and tastier the better)
1/4c Sugar (or to taste)
Some variations:
add some fresh crushed black pepper
add fresh mint
powedered sugar instead of granulated
fresh orange juice to replace some of the sugar.

I ended up adding some pepper and a little extra sugar. I sliced up 3lbs of strawberries.
I also sliced them the night before and added the vinegar and sugar the night before to let them marinate for the night.
I served them with angel food cake and some whipped cream.
And just as I was nervous trying them, so was everyone else. However, everyone enjoyed them. We all had seconds!......

tdiprincess says "So Is Anchor Bar the best Buffalo Wing Place in Buffalo?" about Anchor Bar or Duff's? - Buffalo, NY

A long standing tradition of Buffalo Wings, is that they first, originated in Buffalo NY and originated at Anchor Bar. I do not refute any of that. There are some who say its a conspiracy, but whose to really know.
But, is Anchor Bar the BEST in Buffalo? While they do have Frank's hot sauce, does that mean they're the best.
I've eaten at Anchor Bar. And as growing up in the Buffalo area, there are numerous pizza and wing joints throughout the area that have pretty good Buffalo wings.
The one true rival is Duff's. They have their own sauce, just as Anchor Bar does. They have been open for many decades, just as Anchor Bar. They have been using the same sauce for years, just as Anchor Bar.
So who is better? In my humble opinion, they are both good. But Duff's is a better place to be.
Anchor Bar has glamorized the fact that they were the first. You walk into Anchor Bar and wait in a very long line on a Saturday night. There's a big bar. They have motorcycles hanging around the room. They have......

tdiprincess says "Volkswagen Jetta 2001 TDI Diesel" about Volkswagen Jetta - 2001

Hello all! I'm here talking about our Volkswagen Jetta 2001 TDI (Turbo Diesel Injected).
Okay.. so here's a review for all the wives whose husbands are trying to conserve fuel. Many people are talking about going with hybrids. What about a diesel?
The Volkswagen Jetta TDI is quite fuel efficient.. we get 45-50mpg. Right now were paying about the same for premium gasoline. The diesel is more fuel efficient than most hybrid cars out there.
Hybrid cars use a large number of batteries and a gasoline motor. Which overtime can be a bit costly to maintain.
Diesel engines last for a very long time. We have 265,000 miles on our Jetta and its still going strong.
Volkswagens are also very comfortable cars to drive in.
Some people complain about the smell of a diesel. Just sit behind a bus, and take in the odor of diesel burning. While diesels do have a specific odor, the Jetta is not a bus. The only time we smell the diesel is on start up or if were stuck at a light for too long. But it really isn't that......
