suziw says "Perfect travel stroller; lightweight, shady and portable" about Maclaren Volo Silver - Umbrella Stroller

We've used the McClaren Volo stroller on subways, at airports, at the zoo, in the neighborhood, at Sea World, shopping etc.

When buying this I wanted i) a canopy ii) big enough to last a few years for a tall toddler and preschooler iii) undercarriage storage iv) lightweight v) easily and compactly collapsed. Although the most expensive umbrella stroller at Target, it is the very best value.

It is the most practical stroller we have and we are so glad we got it instead of the cheap alternatives that are a fifth of the price. I can collapse it and open it with one hand and one foot then lift it one-handed. And I'm a weakling with a bad back! I've slung it across one shoulder to carry it up escalators and through subways and wheeled it through New York in winter with the additional padding and cover. It's shady enough for our Texas summers. The shade actually moves all the way to the front (I'm not sure if this is an intended feature or my 3 year old's efforts!) and the stroller is big...
...

suziw says "Not for hot climates or side sleepers" about Tempurpedic Mattress Set

I have the 10 inch tempurpedic and am amazed that this product has so many good reviews. I really dislike this mattress. Although we keep our A/C at 72 degrees the mattress gets so hot I toss and turn all night moving across the king sized mattress to escape. My husband? Well he moves to the coil spring in the guest room. Also the mattress smells really bad when you first get it; this takes many months to decrease. As for comfort, the bed sinks so that your shoulders feel dislocated (I'm a side sleeper) and your back moves into an unnatural position. Ironically I hear the salespeople talk about the thicker mattresses having better airflow!! Rubbish! It's just a thicker piece of heat retaining foam.

Don't buythis mattress unless you've slept on one for several nights in temperatures you live at. Otherwise you are wasting your money and buying a poor nights sleep.

suziw says "Too hot, too expensive and too lonely" about Tempurpedic 8" Memory Foam Queen Mattress

Friends recommended this bed. But my husband and I could never get used to it. We live in Texas and keep our house at 72 degrees but this mattress is still too hot. My husband ends up moving to the coil spring mattress in the guest bedroom and I toss and turn and rove over the king mattress just to stay cool. Terrible nights sleep and a big waste of money. Also cramps your shoulders because of the way the bed sinks - I sometimes wake up with my fingers and arms numb. And if my toddler sleeps next to me, her hair ends up drenched and stuck to her face with sweat. I hate this bed - if I could find the receipt I'ld try to give it back or trade for a coil spring Sealy. I often wonder if the great reviews here are salespeople because I can't believe anyone loves this bed.
...

suziw says "Pregnant 3 times in 6 months" about Clearblue Fertility Monitor

I've been using this product; Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, for several months. Once I stopped breastfeeding I fell pregnant within 4 months and have become pregnant 3 times in a 6 month period.

Easy to use. Just follow the monitors instructions each morning that you switch it on. Once it tells you to 'pee' on the stick do it and check the fertility bar read-out. Essentially you 'try' as soon as you see the 'high' fertility bars (2 bars) and then for the next 5 or so days (while there are 2 and 3 bars) 'try' every other day (that way you try once at optimum fertility - the 3 bars). No assumptions anymore about ovulating day 14. Especially since I have ovulated at various times; 12, 14, 15, 18 days into my cycle.

Sadly I have had 2 early miscarriages (not unexpected at my age) but remarkably I have also been pregnant 3 times in the last 6 months (currently hoping...). I really believe this product has helped. It took me 16 months to fall pregnant with my first child!!

This product...
...

suziw says "Smelly, retains heat and gives me back ache" about Tempurpedic 10 Inch Mattress

We heard all the rave reviews and were taken in. So we bought our $3000 king size tempur-pedic mattress and now my husband sleeps in the spare room and I get up several times a night to ease the back ache.

First there was the noxious head-ache inducing smell that we lived with for several months. I don't know how to describe it; maybe carpet glue or something along those lines.

Then there is the heat generated by the mattress; living in a hot climate I end up perspiring heavily in this bed because it retains heat. I have to move frequently just to cool down.

Then there is the discomfort; I hoped my upper back pain would get some relief but no. I get up several times a night and move around to try and relieve the stiffness in my back.

We are both side sleepers. My husband complains the bed disconnects his shoulder when he lies on his side. I end up lying on several pillows to try to align my spine more comfortably.

I wish we could have tried this bed out beforehand. After 1 night...
...
