suemegg says "great little computer" about Acer Computer AOD250-1706 Aspire One 10.1" Netbook - Ruby Red (LU.S700B.198)

My thirteen year old daughter used some of her babysitting money to buy herself a cute little Acer One Netbook, she was delighted with it and asked me to check it out. I was somewhat scepticle about the neetbook, it seemed so small and toy-like, but once I used hers I was hooked.

My fifteen year old daughter also decided to get one, and there I was with my 15 inch Acer Laptop computer envying the girls with their "toys". I was about to go on a flight and decided that with the long battery life and lightweight feature of this computer that it would be a great travelling companion, so the third Acer One came to our home.

It was great on the flight, not big and bulky like my laptop, easy to carry in a shoulder bag and easy to stow under the seat for take off and landings. I had downloaded some books that I wanted to read and had my web design software so I was able to work on websites as well, making use of all the hours on planes and airports.

It has a web camera and a good...
...

suemegg says ""MagicJack works like the ads say."" about magicJack - magicJack

I took my Magicjack out of it's package, skimmed the instructions, plugged the Magicjack in and less than two minutes later I had a phone number and tested it out. It worked well, the sound quality was as good as our normal phone line, so we will now stop paying our phone company for long distance calls, and doing so will save us about $240 a year.

Right now we could not get a phone number with our own area code, but it really doesn't matter since we won't be using it for incoming local calls as we will keep our landline until Magicjack has numbers in our area. But it will still be very useful to make long distance calls and as an extra line and a fax line.

I plan on getting another Magicjack and send it to family in Australia so that they can call us as if they were making a local call. I am very rarely influenced by advertisments, and this product seemed to good to be true, but after reading some reviews I decided that due to the great potential to save money each month...
...

suemegg says ""My Aerogarden is great for year round use." about AeroGrow Classic AeroGarden Indoor Garden, White

My son bought me the Aerogarden Classic with the herb seeds for Christmas two years ago. I had not seen an Aerogarden before then and skimmed through the instructions, and thought it was one of the best presents I had ever received.

I got the seeds started the next day and was pleased to see them germinate rapidly and for the rest of the winter we enjoyed fresh herbs. I keep in in the kitchen on the counter for quick access to the fresh herbs when cooking.

I then grew some tomatoes, they weren't a huge sucess but did alright.

Next I used my Aerogarden for fresh greens in the fall and winter, it was great for that and it was especially good in the winter to be able to harvest fresh food..

This spring I have used it to start seeds for growing outdoors, I am on my second batch in the garden started tray and am waiting for the last frost date to get my healthy seedling in the gorund.

Then I will use the Aerogarden over summer for more fresh herbs.
...

suemegg says "My Dyson DC 07 is the best vacuum cleaner I have used." about Dyson DC07 All Floors Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

The Dyson Vacuum is the best vacumm cleaner that I have ever used.

They say it never looses suction and that is correct, unless the sponge filter needs cleaning. A fact which I tend to forget until my vaccum cleaner seems to be running poorly. Then I check and find it needs cleaning desperatley. All it requires is to be rinsed off in water and left to dry for a day, then when you put it back into the cleaner you find it works like new all over again.

The attachments are very useful, I particularly like the seventeen foot long hose for stairs and other hard to reach places.

I like the fact that this is a bagless vacuum cleaner, as I don't like having to buy bags all the time, the filters are washable too, so no need to buy new filters either.

This machine gets so many fine particles up out of the carpet, I am very pleased with what a great job it does in cleaning, the rotating brushes can be turned off for cleaning hard floors. When it needs to be empited there is a quick release...
...

suemegg says "JASON Hemp Hand & Body Therapy makes my dry hands feel good." about JASON Hemp Hand & Body Therapy

I suffer from extremely dry skin, with my fingers often so dry that they crack and bleed. In spring time when I start working in the garden the joy is so often over-riden by painful hands. I have tried many lotions over the years with minimul success, some do a little good while other seem to compound my problems due to allergies to the harsh synthetic ingredients.

I discovered JASON Hemp Hand & Body Therapy a few years back and tried out the tester in the store, went home and watched my hands for signs of redness due to a reaction to the ingredients. None occured, so I tested it again on my next two visits, and eventually put my money down, still a little concerned that it would be yet another waste.

My hands have not looked back, it takes so little applied after gardening to prevent the cracking skin. It smells good and leaves no greasy feeling residue. This product gave me back my favorite spring past-time.
...

suemegg says "I love cooking with free energy using my Global Sun Oven" about Global Sun Oven

The Global Sun Oven is a great way to save energy, which translates to saving money while reducing your carbon footprint on the planet.

It works in all weather, but in the far north [or south for our neighbors in the Southern Hemisphere] when the sun is low in winter the time required to catch enough sun makes it a little impractical, but not impossible.

Recipies suitable for slow cookers work very well in the sun oven, but you can adapt any recipe to use. I have cooked roasts, vegetables, cakes, stews and many other dishes. The food cooked in a sun oven is very moist and retains a lot more vitamins that foods cooked in an electric or gas oven.

Cooking outdoors in summer is great for keeping the house a little cooler, so mine gets used a lot on hot days. It can also be used as a dehydrater.

I live in Minnesota but even this far north I am able to use my Global Sun Oven from early Spring to late Autumn. It is also great to take camping or on day trips, no worry about gas...
...

suemegg says "If I thought my 5.2 Neuton was good, the new CE 6 is brilliant"" about Neuton Neuton CE 6 Battery-Powered Mower

I own two Neuton mowers, my oringinal CE 5.2 with a fourteen inch cutting path and the new Neuton CE 6 with a nineteen inch path.

The new mower has a more powerful motor even powered through an overgrown weedy patch. It does a very neat job of the mowing the lawn, it is not quite as quiet as the smaller model, but it is still quiet enough to hear the bird songs over the sound of the mower.

The trimmer is also more powerful, so zips around the edges with ease.

We have a large lawn and I am able to get the job done in a morning, and know that if the battery is charged all I need to do is filp a switch and the mower WILL start. I also know that when I stop for a short break the mower will start right back up.

As well as being efficient and quiet the Neuton mower is good for the environment, as gas mowers are a large source of pollution. The use of Neuton mowers has prevented many tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

I cannot reccomend this mower highly enough. If I had...
...

suemegg says ""The Aerogarden starter try added another great feature to my Ae" about Aerogarden Starter Tray

The Aerogarden starter tray is great!

I used it three weeks ago to start tomatoes and peppers, with seventy starter positions and using only one seed per plug I got sixty five plants to start. I was very happy with this as some of the seeds were from 2007.

According to the seed packets the seeds should have germinated in seven to ten days, but in the Aerogarden starter the started emerging within five days and all but five had emerged within eight days.

With the full spectrum light directly above them, the seedlings all grew straight upwards, and because they were not competing for light or nutrient they developed good strong stems.

I potted them out into jiffy pots where they will grow until the danger of frost has passed and three days ago I started a variety of other vegetable seeds, this morning I noticed that the cauliflower have already germinated.

I think the warmth and light from above makes a huge difference in the germination rate and speed.
...

suemegg says "My dry lips love Burts Bees." about Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

I have always been troubled by dry lips in extreme weather, and have tried many different brands of lip balms. Some seemed to aggravate the condition while others didn't seem to make any difference. I have very sensitive skin and have to be careful what I put onto it if I don't want to suffer from rashes or allergies.

Burts Bees lip balm is a great product. I have been using it for many years now to help my lips survive the sub-zero winter temperatures and the hooter days in the summer. My lips no longer crack and bleed from being subjected to weather extremes and the natural ingredients in this lip balm does not irritate my skin.

This is the only lip balm that I buy, and I keep several on hand, in the car, in my purse and in the bathroom, that way there is always one close at hand. My daughters now all love this product too and so they don't steal mine I like them each to have one of their own.
...

My Kyocera phone is a great tool in my daily life. I live on a farm and in the days before cell phones it was sometimes to keep track of where everyone was, and when I needed help with a chore it could take a little time to find another pair of helping hands.

The phone is small enough to slip into my pocket and have it with me at all times, I like the flip phone as keys can't be pressed accidentally.

The screen is good indoors and in the shade outdoors, but I have trouble seeing in bright sunlight. The menu is easy to access and navigate, there is a good enough varitey in ring tones for assigning to family and friends so I know who is calling me. The ringer volume is good, and I like the vibrate feature, I can feel it very easily so I can always take a call before the phone rings in situations where I don't want to disturb other people.

It seems quite robust, as I dropped it onto cement recently and there's not even a mark on it. The battery life is good.
...

suemegg says "My Neuton mower is the quietest and best mower I have ever used." about Neuton CE 5.2 Battery-Powered Lawn Mower

I always hated buying gas to run a noisey, smelly motor mower, so my prefered mower was on old style motorless, reel mower, these are great for even ground but there were many areas where it just didn't "cut it".

I had thought about an electric mower, but was always concerned that I might run over the electric cord, so had put them right out of my mind.

So I started searching for a cordless alternative that didn't smell bad or give me a headache from the noise and I found the Neuton and bought it. The only downside to the mower is that we have a large lawn so it takes two batteries to be able to mow it all in one day. It is very quiet and it is good to be able to stop the mower for a while, then with a flick of the switch the motor purrs back into action.

I also have the attachment for edging and trimming, it is a very useful item and easy to use. It's good to have one reliable machine to do it all.
...

My primary decision to buy my first Acer laptop was price. Two years ago I dropped it from tabletop height it still worked fine, with the exception that the fall damaged the monitor frame and it can no longer close. My son informed me that he had seen laptop computers destroyed by lesser falls, and was amazed that there was no damage to circuit boards or the drives. This computer is still used daily by my daughter, and I bought myself a new Acer Aspire.

My new computer is an Aspire 4730Z has better speakers than my older one, but still somewhat lacking in sound quality, but that is the only downside I have found with these computers.

I love the quality of the image on the screen, it is very sharp and I don't strain my eyes when working on website design for hours on end.

I'm not a techie so I can't talk at length about RAM and ROM and whatever else, but this computer will do all I need it to do.
