spicytango says "Too much drama, not enough fun..." about The Biggest Loser: Couples

I have always loved The Biggest Loser, but this season I'm really glad I have Tivo because I get tired of them dragging the shows out over an hour. It's a little much--I fast forward through some of it.

I really like the premise of having couples on the show--the interactions are really interesting. But there's a lot more of the gameplay/drama this season and not nearly enough of the "feel good" stuff. With so much faked drama and crap on TV nowadays, it's nice to have a show that leaves you with a good feeling. I'm not liking this season's extra-contrived gameplay.

It's a great motivator too - I've lost 55 pounds myself!
...

spicytango says "Excellent Customer Service!" about Luxor Hotel - Las Vegas, NV

I have stayed at the Luxor a few times and have always had excellent experiences. This last time was the best--we had a problem in our room (the internet didn't work). After two frustrating days of them trying to fix the internet, I went to the front desk at 10pm in a not great mood. The EXTREMELY nice front desk person immediately referred me to the night manager, who offered to put us in a better room. We ended up with what I can only describe as the Presidential Suite! It was fantastic, and the rest of our experience was equally as good. The only downside is extremely slow check-in and check-out. But other than that, the spa is wonderful, fitness room is fantastic, and the attractions are great too (but I still miss the River Nile ride). I definitely recommend the Luxor!
...

spicytango says "Roomba cleans hard floors really well!" about Roomba iRobot Discovery Vacuum

I love my Roomba! We have wood and tile floors all throughout our upstairs, and I hate sweeping or vacuuming hard floors. Roomba does it for me. He (we call him "he") gets under furniture, into little crevices, truly amazing. I have used Roomba on carpet too, although not enough to rate it. I definitely recommend Roomba for hard floors, and as a great conversation piece!
...

spicytango says "I won't ever use this website again." about Orbitz

I have only used Orbitz once and I won't make that mistake again. I usually use Travelocity and Priceline, but I thought I would give Orbitz a try and see how it compared. I was planning a weekend away, and when I found a good hotel at a great price on Orbitz I was thrilled. But then I clicked to book the room and it mysteriously jumped in price by about $40/night. I got a little pop-up that said the original price was no longer available and this was the new price. I didn't want that price, so I left the site. But I was suspicious. So I went back a couple days later, and sure enough the original price was back, and when I clicked to book, it mysteriously jumped up again. At this point I was upset with the bait-and-switch tactic so I called the 800 number. Of course I got someone in India who had never heard of bait-and-switch. I asked for the number of the corporate office and they claimed not to have it. I called back a few minutes later hoping to get someone more intelligent...
...

spicytango says "I love the Playa - great price, great pools, great place to stay" about Hotel Playa Mazatlan - Mazatlan,

I have stayed at the Playa three times now and I have had great experiences every time. I am the type of person who expects good customer service and the Playa has always delivered. The pools are wonderful - ranging from the larger, cooler pool to the smaller, warm pool, to the big hot tub pool. And then when you're tired of the pool you can head right out to the beach! The rooms are comfy with nice balconies. One drawback is that there aren't refrigerators in the rooms, but I've heard you can rent one if you really want to. There are so many dining options in the area that I don't mind not having the fridge.

The Playa has a new mini-spa where you can get a fantastic massage and sit in the steam shower. The price is right--only $40 U.S. Can't get a massage for that anywhere at home! There is also a nice workout room with three treadmills, an elliptical, and both free weights and machine weights. But it's only open until 3pm. I wish it were 24 hours accessible by room key, but...
...
