soccermom44 says "I love my Sienna " about Toyota Sienna - 2004

When I was younger (pre-children) I said I would never be an M & M - a Mom in a Mini-van. I had to drive bright red sportscars or Jeeps. Well, now I have 2 kids and live in the suburbs. When it was time for a new car, I actually looked at mini-vans. I was about to sign the papers for a Ford, when we went to lunch and saw a Toyota Sienna.

The quality difference was amazing. The basic shape is much better than the boxy Ford, and it drove much smoother. We looked up Consumer Reports, and the Sienna was a hands-down favorite.

Now, I am so glad I have that van. I regularly drive up to 7 kids with coolers, sports equipment, coats, etc. and everyone is comfortable. You would think driving all that mass would be expensive, but the gas mileage is much better than anything else I used to drive.

The only problem we have had is the hubcaps. They are just thin, cheap plastic covers that clip in. One bad pothole and they fly off. They also always look dirty. I hope they put better...
...

soccermom44 says "We were totally addicted to this show - now???" about Prison Break

I have been watching Prisonbreak since the first episode, and my whole family has become addicted to it. The first season was amazing. Every show was gritty and realistic, yet had clever twists. We would try to guess what would happen, but you never really could because they were so risky with the plot. A character who seemed so vital would be taken out. It really kept you on the edge of your seat.

We even rented the past episodes during the summer, just to catch little things that we had missed with the original show. The newer season has the same quality characters and plot-lines, but it doesn't seem to have the same magic. I don't know if it is inevitable that the story will weaken, or there is only so much that you can do with a series.

All in all, it still beats the typical, ridiculous shows that are out there. I'd much rather watch Prisonbreak than any other TV show.
...

soccermom44 says "Loved it, even though I did not think I would" about Transformers

When this came out in the movie theater, I said no way, I'm not wasting my money on a Saturday morning cartoon. But I have 2 boys, so we ended up buying the movie when it came out. I was only going to watch the first 5 minutes and then do laundry. Half an hour later, and I said to heck with the laundry (OK, that's not a big surprise) The movie was a surprise, though. It was exciting and funny. The main character, Shia, is a normal-acting kid.

I was really glad we bought it, and my boys loved it. They are out of the cartoon phase, but still liked the escapism. No, it is not the greatest epic movie of all time. But it definitely is fun, funny, and exciting. A definite go see it movie.

...

soccermom44 says "Ultimate treat for non-coffee drinker" about Starbucks Hot Chocolate

They just put a Starbucks in our grocery store here on the island (we live on an island outside a major coastal city). Everyone was excited - except I don't drink coffee!! So one cold morning I tried their hot chocolate on the way to the kids' soccer games. Sweet!! Literally!

It had the wonderful European chocolate taste, with a real milk/cream base. Not the usual hot water with powdered chocolate in it. The packaging was perfect - it kept it hot, it didn't spill in the car, and it was comfortable to hold. It wasn't a flimsy styrofoam cup with a lid that didn't fit like most places.

It just made the morning perfect - frost on the ground, the kids playing awesome, and hot delicious chocolate to drink. What more could you want?
...
