smurray001 says "THE perfect gift!" about Willow Tree Angels

I first saw these Willow Tree angels in a Craker Barrel store and just fell in love with them! They are made from a real Willow wood, and when you handle them you can just feel the quality and workmanship in them. They come with a little gift card with a message that matches the figurine. The figurines are made in a way that is easy to convey sentiments from the heart, and it's easy to find one that's just right for any ocassion. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to buy any at the time I first saw them. Then I got a subscription to the Current catalog and they had some in there for almost half the price that they were in Cracker Barrel! (They are also cheaper to order via the website compared to buying them from Cracker Barrel.) If you are looking for just the right gift for any ocassion, then these Willow Tree Angels are just what you're looking for, and they will surely be treasured for many years to come!
...

smurray001 says "Small amp, big sound!" about Crate Profiler 5

My husband bought me a Crate Profiler 5 amp to go with my new Strat that he got me for Christmas. I love this little amp! It is small and very portable, but puts out a lot of sound. I am only a beginner, so this is perfect for someone like me just starting out. It can also be used by professionals as a practice amp. It has 5 stereo watts coming out of two 4" speakers. It comes with 11 built-in profile sounds. It also has USB outputs for recording music onto your computer (software is also included)! It comes with a power supply, but can also be run on batteries, adding to it's portability. It also has delay, modulation and reverb effects. For private listening, it comes with a CD/MP3 player stereo input jack and headphone jack . I am still trying to learn the different sound combinations, but the sounds I have gotten are clear, and the sound and tone are great! Best of all, this is a very afforable amp and worth every penny! You won't find a better amp for the...
...

smurray001 says "Who says more expensive is better?" about White Cloud Diapers

I was a loyal user of Huggies brand diapers until recently. I started noticing that the quality I was used to in Huggies diapers was leaving something to be desired (that something was dryness and protection for my 18-month old daughter!) I had tried Pampers but being on a tight budget, I could not afford them, so I tried White Cloud diapers, which were sold at Wal-Mart. I had only been using them for a short time, but I liked them. They were very affordable and fit my baby well, and she did not leak while wearing them. They also had a cute design on them and were soft. Unfortunately, just when I found a brand of diaper I could afford and really liked to replace the Huggies, they're now discontinued. I don't know if they have been discontinued nation-wide, but I live in NC and I cannot get them at our Wal-Marts. Hopefully some of you still have access to them and if you do, I highly recommend them.
...

smurray001 says "Cute and fun, but could be dangerous" about Tek Nek "Rock N' Ride" Pony

We bought the Tek Nek Rock-N-Ride pony for our daughter for Christmas. She was only 15 months old at the time, and wasn't very coordinated to stay on it or rock herself. The recommended age is 18 months - 3 years, so she was a little too young for it then. She is now 19 months old and she loves to ride it, but she still cannot get on it by herself. It sits a little too high for her (she is slightly above average height). The horse itself is really soft and cuddly, but the base is made of plastic and can slide very easily on tile or a hardwood floor (we keep our daughter's on carpet!). Each ear has a button that is very easy to push and the pony sings and makes noises - its mouth even moves! There is no volume control and some would consider the volume loud. But the sounds are crisp and clear and my daughter loves to sing along with it. All in all, this is a terrific toy, but could be improved by being lower and having rubber grip pads or something on the bottom of the...
...

smurray001 says "Fun but can tip over" about Radio Flyer Fold 2 Go Tricycle

My husband and I just bought the Radio Flyer Fold-to-Go trycicle from our local Wal-Mart last week for our 19 month old daughter. We put her on it in the store and she loved it! This is a really cute trike! It comes completely assembled and comes in colors for a girl (purple/pink) or a boy (yellow/blue). There is a cute little storage area in the back with a plastic lid. (The lid doesn't lock closed) The trike feels very sturdy and is made of steel. The best thing about this trike is that it folds for portability and easy storage! It is actually pretty small when it is folded, so doesn't take up very much room at all so we can leave it in our minivan. The recommended age is 18 months - 3 yrs. It does have a tendency to tip over. We put our daughter on it and she tipped over a couple of times when we were steering her around (she is much too young to be on it unsupervised). Overall though, it's a great product! Kids will love it!
...

smurray001 says "These Diapers are NOT Great Anymore!" about Huggies Snug and Dry

My Review from February 13, 2008: I have tried Pampers, Luvs, Huggies and various store-brand diapers, but I have to say that Huggies are my favorite. They leak the least of all of them and fit my baby well. It's also a plus to get coupons for these quite regularly from my local Sunday newspaper.

UPDATE: I have been using Huggies since my first review on them, up until a couple of months ago. The last several packages of Huggies I have bought have been so disappointing!! My daughter has leaked in them so many times, and they haven't fit her like they used to - they're saggy and just don't feel of the same quality. I buy diapers in bulk, so I had to use them up. At first I thought maybe I just got a bad batch, so I bought some more. Same thing!! Pampers are a little too expensive for me, so I tried White Cloud from Wal-Mart and they worked really well! Unfortunately, they have been discontinued so I am using Target brand diapers, which are very comparable to White Cloud. ...
...

smurray001 says " Not as great as I had hoped" about Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottle

After reading all the great reviews about theses bottles, my husband and I decided to use these for our baby. She is now almost 5 months old and I have not noticed any huge benefit in using these bottles over any other bottle system. My baby has had gas and spit-up all along (we've even changed her formula), so these bottles did not help in that area. If you happen to forget to put the vent tube in, they will leak ALOT, so they cannot be used without the vent tube! They come with too many parts which are cumbersome to clean, and they are expensive. I am disappointed in these bottles, so therefore cannot and do not recommend them. ...
