slugbug says "Sporty and practical" about Toyota Solara - 2006

My husband and I purchased this car in fall of 2005 (it's 2006 model) and I have had no compaints at all since we first got it. It's been two and a half years now and the only thing I've done to it is oil changes and tire rotation. Excellent smooth ride, lots of get up and go (even in the 4 cyl.) and I feel stylish when driving it. I've had many compliments on the appearance and handling of it. I think many people overlook this car thinking it's not practical, but I haul my infant child around in the back with no trouble at all. The back seat leaves plenty of room for the carseat and an adult to sit and the ceiling is tall enough to not be in the way. Overall a great car and of course it's a Toyota so it should last forever....

slugbug says "Performs as needed no complaints" about Brother Multifunction MFC-465CN Printer

I just purchased this to replace our HP 712C so anything was an improvement but I am so happy with this printer. I read reviews and did my research before ordering. I have not used all the features as of yet but the print, scan and card reader features are all excellent. I see that Mac users have had troubles with this printer but I am a desktop PC user and I've had no trouble at all with this unit. For right around $100 this printer will hopefully last for several years which is partly why we decided on it. It has wireless ability which will likely be the way of the future sooner than we all think. The ink is reasonably priced (even better if you purchase compatible cartridges online) and has lasted for quite awhile so far (not sure how many sheets we've printed). Overall I am impressed with this printer....

slugbug says "Solid and stylish" about Eddie Bauer Adventurer Travel System

I bought this travel system while pregnant and I got it on sale which was great! I love the quality and the fact that I have a stroller and carseat to match is great as well. This carseat is SO heavy! My baby isn't all that big (13 lbs at 4 months) but it's a lot of work hauling around the carrier in stores that don't have carts. I get by okay and since we do have the stroller we can use it when neccessary. Also, the stroller is really handy to use with the one hand release but even folded, it takes up my entire trunk. Not a big deal most of the time, but it is hard to travel for the holidays because it leaves no room for our bags etc. Depending where we go and what our plans are, we generally just leave it at home and use a small umbrella stroller now the the baby can hold his head steady....

slugbug says "FUnctions but not nearly as well as Huggies" about White Cloud Diapers

I stockpiled all different brands of diapers while I was expecting including White Cloud. I opened a package of size one diapers to use and could immediately tell they were a cheaper (more cheaply made) diaper than the main name brands but I gave them a try. The designs are cute and the price can't be beat without coupons but I was disappointed in the feel of these diapers. My little guy isn't sensitive but these diapers seemed scratchy and crunchy compared to others we had used. I didn't like being able to feel the absorbing crystals in the unused diaper. Of the three diapers I used form the package, none of them leaked but they do turn a gross yellow color when soiled. As if changing diapers isn't already a less-than-glamourous job, now you get the visual of pee from the outside of the diaper? Not cool. I can get almost any name brand diaper with coupons cheaper than the White Cloud and have quality to boot!...

slugbug says "Functions as it is supposed to with minimal complaints" about The First Years Baby Monitor

We registered for this monitor during our first pregnancy. I can't even remember why we chose this partivular one other than there were about 20 to choose from. We used the monitors the first few months when I wanted to do laundry or sweep out the garage while baby napped. Once baby moved from our room into the nursery though, our fondness of the monitors diminished. While the monitor does pick up every single sound the baby makes, it also has a constant humming noise too. I adjusted to the humming noise but then realized that everytime the dog walked by the handset, the noise changed pitch and got louder. Not a big deal for someone without pets or someone who sleeps heavier than I do, but a bit annoying in our household.

Overall, product functions well and does exactly what it is supposed to. Slightly noisy but tolerable.

...
