sillyfishies says "Too social a setting for me." about Curves Fitness Center for Women

I really needed to get in shape, and having tried other 24 hour type places, I thought I'd be more comfortable in a women's gym. I chose CURVES. It seemed to have it all, as it was within a mile of my house, i could walk there & get a bit of cardio as well a a workout. The first few times I went, it was quiet, and the owner left everyone alone unless someone needed help with a machine. As I continued going, I enjoyed the streching and workouts alot, but the atmosphere inside changed, and not for the better. My schedule varies from day to day, but generally, mornings are best for my workouts before 10. My CURVES center hired some new people after a few weeks, one of whome was quite a busybody, and encouraged the other ladies to be the same way. I started this gym a a way to comfortably workout, not to make friends or have early morning conversations about BillyBob's cousin's baby! I even wore earphones & music to try to distract & discourage the talking, but it didn't work. ...
...

sillyfishies says "Not the most effective product for sure." about GoSMILE Advanced Tooth Whitening Kit

I love trying new whitening methods for my teeth abut every 6-12 months or so, even though my teeth are pretty white to begin with. I do drink lots of coffee, tea and red wine so they are prone to staining. I had seen the GOSMILE system before and finally saw it on sale so Ibought it (regular price was just too much for me to justify.) The kit I bought contained 20 whitening ampoules and 10 tough up ampoules for after drinking wine, or coffee out of the house when you cant brush immediately. The ampoules are a plastic tube with a cardboard cover and a spongey tip. To release product into the tiop, you just squeeze the ampoule to break it and then rub the spongey part on teeth for a minute or until liquid is gone. I used these twice a day for three days but then burned my gums too badly, so I had to wait three more days to start again. I finally finished the package but honestly barely saw any improvement. I was hoping for super white teeth but was a bit disappointed....
...

sillyfishies says "The Chi IS the best-no question!" about Chi Flat Iron

When I was more of an amateur at straightening my hair, I bought a flat iron for about 30 bucks. It didn't make my hair that great, but did work ok. I recently discovered the CHI Flat Iron at a beauty store & was amazed by the smoothness of glide it had compared to my other iron, so I bought it right away! I work with stylists all day, and they all said that CHI was the best, so I finally tried it on my own hair. My hair is naturally very curly and frizzy no matter what! it always took forever to smooth it out, and even then, the results did not last at all.

Now I'm able to flip with just a slight turn of the wrist, and flatten to a totally straight look with ease after blow drying. Any frizz is long gone after i use this with just one or two slides down the hair! Another cool thing about the CHI is that you can curl with it by wrapping the hair around andquickly twisting it through to create nice big spiral curls which is a very sexy look that is popular now! I...
...

sillyfishies says "Sealy beds are good after all!" about Sealy Posturepedic Mattress

After a few years with our Select Comfort bed, my husband and i decided to buy something different. We had both been waking with back discomfort & had difficulty finding a new "sleep number" that worked for either of us, so we decided to try a traditional mattress again. We went to a mattress discount store & after checking many beds out, decided on a Sealy Posturepedic comfort firm mattress and box spring set. The Sealy was originally great feeling, but after a day or two, it felt uncomfortable, so we tried using a fluffy pillow top with it. We lasted a night with that and felt like we were in a cocoon-too squashed up! We were seriously debating returning this Sealy bed, and finally got smart & read the paperwork that came with that particular bed set. It stated that it takes a week or so to adjust and that body contours in the bed were normal at first (which we thought was a problem). We gave it another week & WOW are we glad we did! Both of us are sleeping more soundly...
...

sillyfishies says "This is the best- do it all cleanser you'll ever find!" about Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap

I'm so happy to review this product! Dr. Bronners Peppermint liquid soap is a lifesaver! I discovered it a few years ago & keep finding new &exciting things to clean with it. I think peppermint is the most popular scent, as it is usually what you see in stores. Even trader joes carries it. They use certifies organic oils in the soaps too! This is one REALLY minty soap! If used in the shower, it leaves you super cool & tingly! It can be used as toothpaste as well, although i prefer traditional toothpaste better, but it is great for travel or camping since it can be used for face, body , hair, teeth, dish-washing, clothes-washing, floor cleaning, car cleaning etc... There are endless uses for this great soap! Just read the bottle & you'll get a few ideas too! The company is certified fair trade now as well & don't test any products or ingredients on animals. I love buying products from socially responsible companies! Plus, it's the BEST!

My proof that this soap...
...

sillyfishies says "Triple Yuck!!!" about SOYJOY - Soy Snack Bars with Dried Fruit

I was so excited to try this new bar i heard about called Soy Joy. I love soy products in general & am always searching for a new healthy bar with real ingredients! Unfortunately, in my opinion, this bar failed the taste test! As i mentioned, i love soy & eat/drink products containing soy regularly, but the bar i tried had a very unpleasant aftertaste, almost as if the soy was rancid. I do admit, however that the bar did have a decent ingredient list & seemed to contain real ingredients like nuts, dates, berries etc, in addition to soy protien.

My other complaint is about the texture of the bar itself. I thought from the ingredient list that the bar would be soft, but it was very firm, almost hard, but it was chewy. The spice flavor overwhelmed the fruitiness, but not that horrible soy taste.

I have found other bars that like MUCH better, that have good ingredients in them as well, such as Cliff Nectar bars, which are wonderful, although i was really hoping for a soy bar...
...

sillyfishies says "This is an easy to use product!" about Peter Thomas Roth Instant mineral SPF 30

Peter Thomas Roth Instant mineral SPF 30 was great find for me! it's nice becasue it is a mineral powder, which makes it non clogging & fine for acne sufferers. I first used it a few years ago when it hit the shelves, and now I can't live through a summer without it. As with all SPF products, you are advised to re-apply every couple of hours or after swimming or bathing. Seems pretty obvious, doesn't it? No problem with this product though, as it is a powder, it won't screw up makeup or gunk up your pores on a hot summer day!

I've even offered it to men i know & reccomend it often, as it has no color (it's not make-upy powder at all) and helps reduce shine on the skin immediately!

My only negative so far is that if your hair is wet (like after swimming) it is hard to cover your whole forehead without getting it in your hair, and if the retractible brush gets wet... it's all over for at least an hour till it dries!
...

We go to Reno a couple of times a year & use a player's card at the Peppermill when gambling. They always send great offers because of this, such as free stays (2-3 nights) Birthday dinners free, and other fun deals. The restaurants are tasty & it's nice to be able to hang out in one place without going downtown where it can be a little "seedy" at times, not to mention cold in the winter & scorching in the summer! The rooms & suites are really lovely as well, offering steam & hottubs right in lots of the rooms!...
