scapp70 says "Queen's third album Sheer Heart Attack is awesome" about Sheer Heart Attack by Queen/Orchestra Regina

When rock band Queen enjoyed a taste of success with their top ten second LP Queen II, they were hungry for more. They were making a salary from their management of less than £50 a week after 'expenses'. They were determined to get a piece of that pie which included royalties, commissions and to actually touch the fruits of their labor. They just returned to Britain a bit early from their US tour supporting Mott the Hoople because guitarist Brian May had contracted hepatitis from a dirty needle during vaccinations. Then as he was feeling better, he developed a stomach ulcer, which hospitalized him again. He wondered if this was to be the end of the road for him with Queen. Queen went into the studio before they were due, since the tour was cut short and start recording their third LP Sheer Heart Attack.

But his band had no intention of booting him out. Instead they carried on writing and recording the songs that the rest of the band wrote. Bassist John Deacon...
...

scapp70 says "Queen's Heaviest album Ever" about Queen - Queen II

British Rock band Queen released their second LP, creatively titled Queen II, in April 1974. Their debut album failed to make any major waves in America or even their own England. Luckily, Queen had a bit more support from their record label as far as promotion this time around. And when David Bowie was unable to fulfill his time slot on England's TV show Top of the Pops, Queen were tapped to fill in for him. When they were seen by their country promoting their newest (and only) single Seven Seas of Rhye from their Queen II album, their sales rose and they finally had a Top Ten album reaching #5 in the UK. The track featured Freddie at the piano, a rarity on their first LP, playing a fiery intro, akin to the future Bat Out of Hell title track from Meatloaf years later. Their vocal harmonies were powerful and layered giving a crowd effect, despite that there were only three members singing (bassist John Deacon opts out from background vocals). Seven Seas of Rhye is even...
...

scapp70 says "Queen's First Vision - their 1973 debut" about Queen - Queen

British Rock band Queen's debut album was released in September of 1973 on the end cusp of the Glam Rock scene. Queen somewhat embraced the Glam Rock thing yet not to the lengths of David Bowie had done for the year before and they never sounded Glam musically. No, even on their first album, Queen, the band had a sound of their own. Their music was nowhere near as light and bouncy of T-Rex or Bowie, their sound in the beginning was much more heavy, sounding more along the lines of Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath.

Their self-titled first album hadn't garnered any real success initially despite that two singles were released from the album. Keep Yourself Alive was the first single, and it was pretty much ignored by radio on both sides of the Atlantic. It was a track heavily driven by machine gun like guitars layered upon another, and with a catchy chorus to boot. The second single Liar was a leftover from lead singer Freddie Mercury's previous band Wreckage, but then...
...

scapp70 says "ENCHANTED - My favorite Disney Movie!" about Enchanted

Disney has such an fantastic catalog full of amazing films, wonderful classics that span nearly a century. Amazingly, the newest addition, Enchanted is the best of all. That's right, better than Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Wow, that it a bold statement, but while I love this movie the most, it wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable without the history of all these films. Enchanted referrences so many Disney classics, and part of the fun in recognizing all of them, that is if you can.

The movie is about a beautiful maiden named Giselle who lives in the animated fantasy world called Andalasia. One day after being chased by an ogre, she is rescued by the handsome Prince Edward. The two immedietely fall in love and vow to marry each other the next day. You know how it is in a world of fantasy. Prince Edward's mother-in-law, Queen Narissa fears that Giselle will try and dethrone her, so she puts her special evil powers to work and pushes...
...

scapp70 says "Queen Will, Queen Will Rock You" about Queen - News of the World

British Classic Rock band Queen had conquered the world in 1975 with their album A Night at the Opera and the single off this album Bohemian Rhapsody. Now the year is 1977, and they are ready to reconquer the earth with a bolder and even heavier statement - News of the World.

The two big singles released were We Will Rock You written by guitarist Brian May and We Are The Champions written by lead vocalist Freddie Mercury. The two songs, although completely different from one another, go hand in hand at sporting events around the world. Because of the sparseness of We Will Rock You's STOMP STOMP CLAP is something that Queen or sports fans can sing without the use of a music background, which is what Brian May strove for originally when he wrote the song. We Are The Champions is made up of the over-the-top hard rock Queen sound that we had gotten used to from their A Night at the Opera album two years before. This makes total sense when you factor in that We are the Champions...
...

scapp70 says "Eddie Murphy in Haunted Mansion: Blu-Ray" about The Haunted Mansion

It's surprising that someone would think of the idea to create a movie around a theme park attraction, but I guess life is full of surprises. The Haunted Mansion came out at about the same time as Pirates of the Caribbean had, what's next - Space Mountain: the Movie? Actually, it;s even silier than that, it has been announced that the next Disney World attraction to become a major motion picture is The Jungle Cruise. It sounds dumb and impossible, but stranger things have happened.

Having said that, The Haunted Mansion is not that far-fetched an idea. The ride has it's own story and some of the tale has been translated into this film. This is about a Louisiana man from the 19th century who threw a masquerade party to celebrate the fact that he would be asking the love of his life, Elizabeth for her hand in marriage. His name is Master Gracey, and when he learns that Elizabeth had seemingly took her own life, in a pure Romeo & Juliet fashion, he takes his own life as well.
...

scapp70 says "Adam Sandler gives us the modern day 'It's A Wonderful Life'" about Click (2006)

Written by Steve Koren (Seinfeld writer, Evan Almighty writer, Bruce Almightywriter) and brought to life by comedic actor Adam Sandler and sexy actress Kate Beckinsale, we have an updated version of the classic Jimmy Stewart film It's A Wonderful Lifeessentially. Within Click, instead of an angel showing what life would be like if he'd never been born, we have an angel showing what life would be like if he was given a remote control to fast-forward through the parts in life that can be viewed as boring, frustrating, tedious, time-consuming and so on.

Obviously, the moral of the story is that each and every part of life should be cherished and appreciated because it's over before you know it, and the regret of what you missed out on could be great if you prioritized the wrong things in life.

Adam Sandler brings a lot of humor and balance to what is a sombre plotline, and Kate Beckinsale is just wonderful to look at, arguably at her sexiest ever. The angel (Morty) is played by...
...

From the first time I viewed the trailer I was excited to see this film from Disney, "Meet the Robinsons". It turns out that I was not disappointed either.

The film starts off with a young 13 year-old Lewis, an egghead wannabe inventor who lives in an orphanage and shares a room with his best friend Michael, (or as he's better known as -Goob). In-between his inventive inventions he is interviewing for potential parents to take him into his new family.

At a science-fair at school, he is encountered by a strange new character Wilbur who claims to have a time machine. Lewis agrees to travel with Wilbur to the future if only Wilbur agrees to take Lewis back to the past so that he can learn who his mother is.

Meanwhile, the villain - Bowler Hat Guy is trying to destroy everything Wilbur is trying to accomplish by taking Lewis to the future. Bowler Hat Guy also has a time machine (there were only two made in the world).

In the future (2037), Lewis meets a kooky family, The Robinsons. ...
...
