I recently bought a pelonis oil filled radiator heater at walmart. It seems very handy. It takes several hours for its full capacity to engage. I love the fact it is on nice rollers and has a heat proof handle. This is the quietest heater i have ever seen. The controls are very simple to understand. There is a low, med, and high heat control. So far the continuous and steady heat is exactly what i was looking for. There is an automatic shut off feature and you can also set a timer for how ever long you want the heater to stay on....
