roserighter says "By far the best video game for kids." about Playstation 2 - Lego Indiana Jones

My boys are big Indiana Jones fans. We saw the latest movie at the theater and they have been hooked ever since. Then came the Indiana Jones Lego Sets, whcih were a big hit. Now we have the Playstation 2 - Lego Indiana Jones and they love it! My kids are 6 and 10 and thye both thoroughly enjoy playing. Even better, I actually enjoy watching them play. The graphics and the little extras in the game are priceless. Indy kisses the girls, knocks his friend out, rides a horse, slithers along steep ledges and rides a mine shaft. I can actually recognize scenes form the movie. — — I have never seen a more clever video game than the Lego Indiana Jones for Playstation 2. The prioce was average for these types of games, but it was well worth ot for the hours of entertainment it has provided my boys. — — I highly recommend Playstation 2 - Lego Indiana Jones for Indy fans, Lego fans and gamers alike. —...

roserighter says "Keeps you on the edge of your seat." about Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D proved to be a good choice for me and my kids. It had all the elements of a family movie combined with enough excitement to keep the boy's attention. — — I've never been a huge Brendan Frasier fan. I think a lot of his roles are corny. Somehow he pulled off the role of a science professor in Journey to the Center of the Earth though. It wasn't a stellar performance, but I was impressed. — — The idea of seeing a 3D movie and getting the glasses was a thrill for my kids. I had never seen a 3D movie either so it was a new experience for all of us. I'm not gonna lie, there were moments where I was jumping out of my seat. Fish with sharp teeth were jumping right out at us and there is a scene where the characters are riding in a mine shaft and it feels like you are on a roller coaster simulation ride. — — As a whole, we enjoyed the movie. I recommend Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D for families with kids...

roserighter says "Mimzy was a little bit creepy." about The Last Mimzy

As a mom of two boys, I am always looking for a good family movie. I seem to have a harder and harder time finding something for us all to enjoy. Last week we came across the movie, The Last Mimzy at the rental store. We grabbed it in hopes of watching a magical movie the kids and I could enjoy together. — — My Opinion of The Last Mimzy — I'm not sure why I expected something totally different, but I did and we were disappointed with the movie. It was actually about a creepy doll and magical rocks that were alien in nature. The little girl has supposedly been chosen to save the alien by figuring how to build a bridge back to its home. It becomes a matter of national security, but that isn't enough for the parents to realize that something strange is happening to their kids. The adults in The Last Mimzy are slow to catching on to what is going on. Somehow the kids have better instincts than they do. — — My boys are 5 and 9. The younger one barely sat...

roserighter says "Pizzeria taste and rising crust from Freschetta Forzen Pizzas." about Freschetta Frozen Pizzas

Though I am a self-confessed pizza addict, I am a little choosy about the pizza I eat. Of course, I love a good pizza that comes fresh out of a wood-burning stove with perfectly melted cheese, just the right amount of sauce and crispy/soft crust. The next best thing is throwing a Freschetta Frozen Pizza in the oven at home. — — The Freschetta Difference — Not all frozen pizzas are created equal. Frozen pizzas have come a long way from the thin tasteless ones I grew up eating though (we called them cardboard pizzas.) Freschetta makes an awesome pizza. It cooks up really nice. The crust is thick with a crisp outside and soft steamy center. The cheese is gooey and the sauce has a bit if zip to it with small bits of meat. — — My Recommendation for Freschetta Frozen Pizzas — Once you go Freschetta, you won't go back. I am hooked on these pizzas. I find them on sale sometimes 2 for $10. They are great to have on hand and pop into the oven for a last...

Frizz Ease Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Extra Strength Formula is the first product i have tried for my frizzy hair that actually worked. I am excited to finally find a product hat works well at taming my frizzy hair and relaxing my fly-aways. — — Sold on Frizz Ease Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Extra Strength Formula — I am so happy with this product and how it works on my hair. Until recently I struggled with naturally wavy/curly hair that was hard to control. Some days it wasn't so bad, but changes in weather would wreak havoc on my hair and ruin the style I worked to create. I don't have to worry about the weather giving me a bad hair day when I run a small amount of Frizz Ease Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Extra Strength Formula after I wash it. This product gives mt hair a level of control that no other product could provide. It is light, not greasy or oily and it wasn't even that expensive. — — My Recommendation for Frizz Ease Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Extra Strength...

Eat This Not That! is a terrific little book that is a restaurant guide for saving hundred of calories per meal. Author David Zinczenko shows how to swap food choices to save calories and lose weight without feeling deprived. Unlike most diet books, Eat This, Not That! doesn't have a meal plan to follow, nor does it ask you to cut out certain food groups. The goal of this book is to get dieters to make better food choices to save calories, making weight loss a reality. — — Eat This Not That! includes helpful information on: —...

roserighter says "Boy seeks unknown objects in the Seeker." about The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising

Finding a movie I can enjoy with my boys (ages 5 and 9) is becoming increasingly difficult. When movie hunting last week, we came across the movie, The Seeker. I bought the DVD because it looked like an action-packed movie about a boy with magical powers. — — What Was The Seeker Seeking — The Seeker, a 13-year-old boy, didn't have much of a clue about what he was seeking. He was thrust into the role to come between light and dark. He is the 7th son of the 7th son, but doesn't think he fits the part until he learns of his twin that he never knew of. Ultimately, the boy is seeking his brother and saving him while protecting the world from a dark force. He's confused and unsure how to handle his newfound powers. — — My Opinion of The Seeker — I'll admit that this isn't my kind of movie, so it wasn't going over well with me from the start. However, I spend most of the movie discussing what was happening with my 9 year old son. trying to figure out...

roserighter says "P.S.I Love You is not a lighthearted romance story." about P.S. I Love You

I had heard great reviews about the movies, P.S. I Love You. I have had it up to my ears with actions flicks and chidlren's movies since I am always watching them with my boys. The time had come to rent a movie for myself to enjoy. What better way to spend a mom's night in than watching a great romantic movie, right? — — I thought that P.S. I Love You fit the bill. I coudlbn't wait to put the kids to bed and get lost in my movie for a couple of hours. I had been fighting a cold and runny nose and just felt like relaxing. P.S. I Love You only made things worse. I cried through pretty much the entire movie. — — The movie is about a young couple with everyday issues. He died before she even reaches her 30th birthday, but he arranges an elaborate plan to woo her long after he is gone. Not too long after his untimely death, the letters start coming. Some are delivered by mail, others by relatives. He is always reaching out to her though and reminding her that he...

As the owner of two pet (and two boys) I found myself in need of a solid carpet cleaner without a lot of fuss. I am not technically inclined or handy around the house, nor did I want to spend a long time reading through instructions trying to figure out a new machine. I knew that if a carpet cleaner was too much trouble to use, it would not get used. — — I came across the Bissell QuickSteamer Lighweight Deep Cleaner at the store. The price was right for $70. I like the fact that it is lightweight, it is easy to use and it required very little assembly or set up time. — — Using the Bissell QuickSteamer Lighweight Deep Cleaner is actually kind of fun. It scrubs the carpet and sucks up set in stains, leaving your carper smelling fresh and looking like new. — — I highly recommend the Bissell QuickSteamer Lighweight Deep Cleaner, especially for people like me who are intimidated by more complicated appliances....

I caught the movie 13 Going on 30 last weekend on TV. It wasn't a movie that impressed me when it hit theaters a few years ago, so I never gave it a second thought. At the time, I saw it more as a flick for teens. — — I'm glad I had the chance to watch it though because it turned out to be a really cute movie with a great love story. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies and couples finding love when the odds are stacked against them. — — There were moments of 13 Going on 30 where Jennifer Garner was laying it on pretty thick as far as being a silly teenage girl. It was a little irritating at first, but she grew up a bit as the movie went on and it ended up being enjoyable. —...

The No-Spill Big Bubble Bucket is great for hours of play. The bucket itself is sturdy with a wide bottom. I can't tell you how many times I have bought my kids bubbles and they get wasted because they get knocked over easily. This bucket is virtually spill-proof. — — What I love about the No-Spill Big Bubble Bucket is that there is more than one wand and they are big enough for little hands to grab and use with ease. The cheap little bottles of bubbles normally come with one flimsy little wand that is hard for preschoolers and kindergartners to use. I end up being the one to blow the bubbles all the time. I don't mind playing with my kids, but they get frustrated because they want a turn at it too. — — I think the No-Spill Big Bubble Bucket is worth the extra money. You can always add the cheap bottles of bubbles to the bucket or make your own when it runs out. —...

Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Lotion caught my eye because I am forever suffering from dry skin. It sounds almost medical, being labeled as "intensive rescue." You get a good size bottle for the price, so I decided to give it a try. — — The Vaseline Moisture Locking Lotion is a white, non-greasy formula. I like the lotion. The only problem is that it states on the bottle that is if unfragranced. While perfume may not have been added to the lotion, specifically, it does have a light smell.
Nim's Island is a cute family movie. I took my two boys and my mom to see it today and we all enjoyed different parts of the movie. — — My boys loves the animals moments, especially the lizards. My mom liked the scenes that incorporated parts of the author's book and her main character. I liked the author herself and the courage of Nim. — — Nim's Island is full of excitement, beauty, tranquility and a little fear. — — The one thing I didn't like was how the dad just left Nim on the island for what was supposed to be a two day trip. I didn't think that sent a good message to kids. The good news is that he does eventually make it back to her, right after the terrified author shows up. — —...

I have tried a lot fo diets over the past few years. I read over and over again how you are supposed to fill up on fruits and veggies for snacks, but they just don't do the trick for me and I end up feeling deprived. I have learned to seek out little daily rewards that won't ruin my diet. — — I found the South Beach Diet - Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies and decided to give them a try. They are actually not bad. They fit into my calorie needs for a snack and aren't bad for you. They have a chocolaty taste, but more than that they are a good crunchy little cookie. They satisfy the need to eat a crunchy snack while curing your sweet tooth. — — Now don't expect them to fill you up if you are really hungry.

The No Grain Diet by Dr. Joseph Mercola (Dutton, 2003) is a book that details how you can lose weight by completely cutting carbs out of your diet....at least temporarily. — — Dr. Mercola describes our cravings for carbs as an addiction. He offers solid advice and practical application for carbohydrate addicts. He doesn't just state the obvious and leave you to figure out the details on your own. — — The No Grain Diet is packed with helpful tips on tapping into your health, getting a good night's sleep, how to overcome emotional eating, troubleshooting your weight loss program and no-grain recipes. — — The good things about The No Grain Diet is that it goes into great detail about how to handle your emotions when you stop using carbs as a crutch.
You Are Special is a wonderful picture book. Perhaps it is meant for children, but I think anyone can benefit from reading this book by Max Lucado and Sergio Martinez. The words flow beautifully, the pictures are perfectly illustrated and it is a great read aloud book. — — What I like most about You Are Special is the positive message it sends about being yourself, being special just the way you are and not letting people judge you or put labels on you. It says that if you have faith and you get support, the labels won't stick. — — I have not been able to find You Are Special at a used book store or online at a reduced rate.
The Game Plan is a nice movie to rent for family night. It has a little something for everyone. Th Rock is in a lot of shots that highlight his muscles, there is a football theme for the sports fans, humor and the most adorable eight year old girl. — — The Game Plan didn't strike me as good enough to see at the theater, but we rented it and watched the DVD at home. My five year old has no interest, but that is to be expected. My nine year old son enjoyed the movie. It is perfect for a stepping stone for those earning credits towards a degree down the line, are enrolled in an associates degree program or juts want to brush up on their skills. — — I actually attended Schoolcraft College after getting my BA from EMU. I returned a few times, in fact. The first time I went to Schoolcraft College it was purely for my own interest. I took a writing course taught by a local author. It was a great experience and the price was really reasonable. — — Later in lie, after my first son was born, my values and goals were shifting. I returned to Schoolcraft College in Livonia, MI and enrolled in child care classes. With the degree I already had under my belt, all it took were 12 credits to receive the equivalent of a CDA. I love the classes. One class I was even able to rent the videos from the library and watch them over the weeks of the course and was only...
