rose23986 says "Can't tell the difference" about Coke - Zero

I usually don't drink any drinks except for water and milk. But my boyfriend is a devout coke zero drinker and whenever I am with him I like to drink it too. We actually have to buy two bottles so that we both have enough.

Coke Zero tastes just like regular Coke and thankfully is without the calories - which is perfect because I don't believe in drinking your calories. Diet coke is too sweet, but coke zero is just right. It is crisp and surprisingly even quenches my thirst.

I love Coke Zero at the movies because it goes great with popcorn. Cherry Coke Zero is an even better product and is like a desert all in itself.

It also comes in vanilla flavor, but I am not fond of the taste of that one.

People should still only use it in moderation though. Just because it has zero calories does not mean that it is without harmful (if used excessively) products. It still contains asapartame which is an artificial sweetner being investigated for its link to brain cancer.
...

rose23986 says "Dry and useless" about Target Brand Baby Wipes

Usually I don't mind store brand products, especially Target store brand. But the Target Brand Baby Wipes are the worst baby wipes I have ever used. Yes they are a good price. But they are so dry that they are barely useful. And the only closing mechanism they have is a sticky tape cover so they dry out even more after the fact.

I actually carry baby wipes with me everywhere so that I can wipe off my face before reapplying make-up, clean up quickly since I live in NYC and the air is dirty, or to remove heavy stage make-up. But these wipes will barely take off foundation let alone eye make-up. I can't imagine how much gross residual poo they leave on a baby's bottom.

The only good thing about these wipes is that they are textured. That does help remove some of the dirt and grime.

I will still buy store brand in the future and will buy Target brand for other products, but I will get my baby wipes somewhere else.
...

rose23986 says "Product is equivalent to price" about Avon Smooth Mineral Makeup

I bought the new Avon Smooth Mineral Make-up due to the price. I figured that I didn't have much to lose (and I could always get a refund). I already use mineral make-up but was in search of a less messy, less expensive alternative to the brand I currently used.

First, it was hard to match colors online. I ended up ordering ivory which made me look like a ghost and was too light for my skin. Luckily, Avon was great about the return and let me keep the product and still gave me a refund.

I then ordered nude (the second lightest color), but it's a little too dark. In the end, I just mixed the ivory and nude together to get my perfect combo.

Still, the product remains messy, like all mineral make-up and does not go on as smoothly as the more expensive product. I feel like mineral make-up meant well, but it wasn't created for girls on the go and makes touch-ups difficult. I think there is a better alternative out there.
...

rose23986 says "Goes on smooth!" about Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner

I decided to buy Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner initially because of the price ($3.99 on sale!). Purchasing online was a bit difficult because I couldn't tell if the eyeliner was a pencil or crayon from the picture and I really wanted to find crayon eyeliner. Boy did I find it!

This product is great! The fine tip, goes on extremely smoothly and stays put. So far I have had no smearing problems. Every time I wear it I get compliments on my eyes. I do wish that Avon had more colors. So far they just have the basics (brown, grey, black, dark blue, and dark emerald). I'd like some fun metalics for nights out. Maybe they will release them as part of their Mark line.

Initially I bought 2 colors (they were buy one get one free), but I then went back and bought the rest of the colors, all of which were equally great.

My roommate who is a make-up artist was surprised at how great the product was for the price too. She is thinking of buying her own set.
...

rose23986 says "Softens and Strengthens" about Redken Extreme Conditioner

My hair is very unruly and dry, but still fine. I have tried many many products to tame it. Redken's Extreme Conditioner makes my hair soft and re-hydrates it. I can practically feel my hair drinking the conditioner. I do not use it combined with the extreme shampoo. I feel like conditioner is what people should splurge on since it's purpose is to hydrate the hair. Shampoo's job is to clean.

After using the product just once my hair was softer, detangled, and shinier and my waves started to come out. My hair also looked thicker. However, I still have a problem with frizz and fly-aways. It wasn't too heavy and my hair still has a lot of body. My boyfriend loves the way it feels. My hair also looks great when I straighten it so I'd recommend this product for curly or straight hair.

The scent of the conditioner is fine. Nothing special. My boyfriend says that he prefers other scents as do I. Sometimes I add a touch of herbal essence into it so that it smells better. ...
...

rose23986 says "Expensive Service for inconsistent picture" about Time Warner Cable - Company

It always annoyed me that Time Warner Cable was my only option for cable in NYC. Lately their customer service has been better, but whenever the cable goes out I have to wait forever to have someone come fix it. Plus, it is very expensive. I would love to downgrade my cable more, but I can't do that if I still want my DV-R. So I am stuck paying for 100 channels when I barely use 5. And my internet is very inconsistent. The only positive thing I can say is that lately when I talk with someone on the phone they have been kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. And they haven't been too pushy.
...

This was a gift for last Christmas from my boyfriend in honor of me switching over to using a MAC. I know I am behind the bandwagon, but I liked my MP3. Now, I like my ipod nano for the most part. There are a couple things I wish I still had from my mp3 player. In particular, the ability to voice record. I love the size though and the battery lasts for a long time. It is a little hard to understand how to upload music to it and slightly annoying to navigate, but that could be due to my own tech limitations. The color is gorgeous and overall I enjoy it.
...

I loved my subaru impreza. As a very petite person, searching for an all-wheel drive car that was not a gas guzzler and that was not an SUV really only left me with two choices. A very expensive Audi or a Subaru. I loved my subaru and the service that Subaru gave me. One thing I also love about the car is the way it looks. It is sleek and sporty while still being practical. And even as a small car, boy can it hold a lot. It has rails on top for additional storage and the hatchback holds more than meets the eye. One thing I easily added to my car was remote start. Once I had that I had the perfect snow car for Michigan weather.
...

I wouldn't trade my experience at Ithaca College for anything in the world. I had an amazing time there socially and academically and wish every day that I could go back in time and do it over again. Although the snow can be annoying, it is such a beautiful campus and there is so much to do on campus, that it really isn't that much of a problem. It's a little hard to get to so you have to eventually have a car. The gym facilities are great and the theatre program is unparalleled. I don't know anyone who did not love their time there. The only problem is that it is expensive. They may be ranked high with financial aid, but they give a lot of aid to a very few select people.
...

The Orville Redenbacher Gormet Hot Air Popper makes a fast healthy snack with little mess and cleanup. It is very economical as well. It costs much less to buy a container of kernels than it does to buy individual microwave bags. Air popped popcorn alone has little flavor, but add a little i can't believe it's not butter spray and you are good to go! My only complaint is that the opening is too large and the popcorn and kernels start to fly out if you don't hold the container close enough.
...

rose23986 says "Light coverage that lasts all day" about Mineral Essence L2 Foundation

Mineral Essence is the original mineral makeup. I prefer the foundation (and foundation only) to bare essentials which you can buy at Sephora. It is important to know that they are not the same brand.

Mineral Essence costs a little less that Bare Essentials. I also like the way the foundation lays on my skin better. The Bare Essentials always looked like I had a layer of foundation on. I think it was a bit thicker. Mineral Essence is light, but provides the same coverage.

The only problems I have is when my skin is very very very dry and sometimes it will tend to stick to those spots. But mostly it is fine. I still prefer it to all other foundations.

It is also so light that you can sleep in it without it clogging your pores. After I started wearing it, two of my friends and my mother switched as well.
...

Mineral Veil is a must have if you are going to use mineral makeup. A lot of people, especially those with dry skin, think that if you use powder makeup your face will not get oily. But something about the ingredients in the mineral wear brings out the oil in your skin and the mineral veil is essential to keeping it from getting shiny. I recommend just brushing a touch of the mineral veil onto your t-zone if you have dry skin and all over if you have oily skin.

I also find that it does not matter which brand of mineral makeup you use for the veil. It is all the same.

When I first started using mineral makeup I didn't like it because of the oil factor. But as soon as I started using mineral veil, I never went back.
...

My boyfriend gave me the back knobber to use one day when he was too lazy to give me a massage (feel free to roll eyes here!). But honestly, it was fantastic. The knobber reached the parts of my lower back and shoulder that are always aching and in need of some hard core kneeding. It's curved shape made it easy to use and easy to reach my middle and lower back. I promise you, after this your knots will be gone (at least for a day).

Two warnings though. one) It looks like a kinky sex toy so do not leave it lying around when you have guests coming over. two) It is ONLY for those who like deep tissue massage. Otherwise, you will hurt yourself.

My only complaint is that my kneck often hurts a lot too. But this contraption won't work on the neck.
...

rose23986 says "For the shopoholics!" about Lucky Magazine

I love this magazine. Especially the stickers inside every issue that allow me to flag pages and remind me what I want to buy. Every magazine should have those. I can't tell you how often I mark articles and then forget to go back and look up websites or order a dress I saw on a celeb.

And most of the clothes are affordable too so I don't have to feel bad after reading it that I can't purchase anything I saw. I also like that the clothes are trendy but wearable. So often I see cute items in magazines but wonder, where will I wear that in day to day life? They are also season appropriate which is great. Since so many celebs live and vacation in warm weather, I am often stuck looking at short sleeve outfits in December. Hello!!! I live out east. I will freeze!

I know some people do not like that there are very few articles. But I love it. The magazine is focused. It is supposed to be like a shopping catalogue. I love that I don't have to dig through the articles......

I prefer Glamour to Cosmo. Although, I'm not sure exactly why. I guess the magazine feels like it has more variety month to month.

I like the makeup and hair tips that come in each magazine. But I feel the magazines are too expensive for what you get. And with the recession I feel like they are cutting the pages down. Still, it's nice to have a fun mindless read once in a while. Especially when you work hard all day and just want to relax.

I wouldn't recommend a subscription because then the magazine definitely gets repetitive. I usually get it once every 3 months. Also, DO NOT sign up for their free issue. If you do, they will call and hassel and try to bill you for subscriptions for months on end. I had to call 3 times before they stopped sending me notices that I was delinquent on an account for a magazine subscription I never received.

...

This product works best as a spot treatment. It won't rid someone of acne, but it will certainly make a bright red, annoying, and often painful bump significantly diminish and be less noticeable without drying your skin. I think one of the main ingredients is alcohol so don't be surprised when it stings a little.

Overall, I use it only as a spot treatment as I have found that it does not work well on whiteheads.

I have also noticed that it does not do a thing for body acne.

But it is cheap and easy to take with you when traveling. It also lasts a long time. If you don't like the idea of rolling it on your skin, shake it and put it on a q-tip and apply to the affected area.
...

I recently purchased this product after trying almost everything the dermatologist gave me. I don't like products with peroxide because they dry out my skin and dye everything I own, so I purchased this. At first it worked sort of well. Better on my body than my face. But it does not absorb smoothly like it claims. It is very sticky and impossible to put makeup over. Therefore, I cannot put it on every 2 hrs like the directions say because I do not sit at home all day.

I saw a slight change the first time I used it, but haven't seen much since. If I am able to apply it more than once a day I see a more definite change. It definitely does not dry out my skin or dye my clothes which is nice. And it is virtually odorless. Worth a try, but there may be better products out there....

I received an AMC gift card for my birthday and was very disappointed when I learned that I was unable to redeem the card online! Since I live in NYC, and to make matters worse I live near Times Square, I often have to pre-order tickets to movies online. Since I have to redeem the card in person, I frequently run into the problem of sold out movies. A lot of time, I don't have time to stop by the movies and pick up a ticket hours before. It's out of my way. I would rather these cards be convenient.

Also, since the card is sold with a $12 value and the movies in NYC are $12.50, I cannot use the card in their automated machine. Instead I have to wait in long lines and deal with rude agents.

It was nice of my friend to buy it for me, but in the end it made my movie experience more difficult.
...

rose23986 says "Excellent customer service. " about United Airlines

I flew American Airlines on a last minute trip to Chicago. I was amazed to find out the day of my travel, that I could fly any time that same day on standby for no additional charge! The customer service rep on the phone was even able to tell me how full the flights were before I headed to the airport to wait.

In the end, I got an earlier flight that left and arrived on time on my way to chicago and on my way back caught a flight that wasn't technically accepting standby passengers (they let me on anyway) that also left and arrived on time (it actually arrived early).

When boarding standby passengers, they were very efficient and curteous. I will definitely fly American again.

...

rose23986 says "Family Fun for all ages" about Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is a great movie for adults and kids. It moves along quickly and has loveable characters to keep children's attention and has slight adult humor hidden within to appease adults. Also, it's fun to watch over and over again.

Dory the forgetful fish is extremely funny. You will find yourself quoting her often after seeing the movie. In fact, "just keep swimming" is a great motto for your daily workout. If Dory can do it, so can you!

The sharks can be a tad scary so I recommend it for children at least age 5....
