The monitor is handheld, it rotates and zooms the camera. It's wonderful. You can tote the monitor around, clip it on your pants, and at night plug it in for a charge on your nightstand for all night monitoring. We have 5 children and splurged on this monitor for our youngest two babies. At $199, it's pricey--the only drawback. You can also add up to 4 cameras, allowing more video access throughout your home. I think it should include 2 camera's for the price.
