roadwarrior2008 says "Watch out for details and misrepresentations" about Restaurant.com.

Warning: restaurant.com refuses to remove restaurants from its website which customers report are no longer accepting gift certificates (coupons). They have no problem selling GCs to such restaurants however.

An example is:

Kabul Kabob

6802 Commerce St

Springfield, VA 22150

(703) 451-3373

I reported months ago that they would not accept it anymore but restaurant.com has not removed it. I even called back and asked why and they said restaurant has not told them to no longer accept but they have no issue with giving credit for restaurants not accepting them anymore. I had to pay full price for meal and I added items to make minimum. Some restaurants listed are no longer in business. It appears from their reaction (who cares, we gave you credit) they would rather have more restaurants listed than happy customers - I will not purchase until they change policy. I had purchased almost 30 coupons from them and have not since. Always, always ask restaurant first.
...

roadwarrior2008 says "Sofa bed should not even qualify as a bed" about Harbortown Point Resort - Ventura, CA

Forget that the rooms are rated for 2/4 (1 bedroom) and 4/6 (2 bedrooms) in Harbortown Point Resort - no one wants to sleep in extra sofa bed. We exchanged this via Wyndham as a FairShare Plus Resort exchange for place in Orlando based on fact it could sleep 4. One bedroom in Harbortown Point Resort can only sleep 4 if three sleep on the bed and one on the couch without pulling sofa bed out.

The Harbortown Point Resort's sofa bed was absolutely TERRIBLE - springs were pushing through however you attempted to lie on it and we needed to buy a inflatable sofa bed and pump from Walmart so my daughter could sleep.

Aside from the Harbortown Point Resort's sofa bed it was about how I expected the room to be. Studio sized room with mini-kitchen, quiet, with usual odd assortment of channels at hotel-like places, wireless internet and a balcony. There was a sliding curtain separating bed from rest of room for privacy.

The Harbortown Point Resort itself had a pool (too cold for us),...
...

roadwarrior2008 says "Yahoo Mail - Getting worse and worse" about Yahoo Mail

Yahoo! Mail has been pushing their "security" more and more. First was the annoying security image which was optional which most people ignored. Now Yahoo!'s definition of security of is providing more information about yourself such has cell numbers, alternate e-mails and secuity questions which you can not lose, change or can not access account when needed.

Exact quote:

Yahoo! is making improvements in case you forget your password. The more details you provide below, the easier it will be to reset your password later. Most of the information is not static hence useless or is available from people who know hence vulnerable. Anything you give goes into Yahoo's database.

1. Where did you spend your honeymoon?
2. Where did you meet your spouse?
3. What is your oldest cousin's name?
4. What is your youngest child's nickname?
5. What is your oldest child's nickname?
6.
roadwarrior2008 says "COX lies about free High Definititon in commericals" about COX - Cable TV

COX lies all of the time about its free High Defintion programming in their commericals. The COX programming does not cost anythng extra directl;y but in order to access the High Defintion channels such as movies and music you need to pay for a monthly fee on each box for all channels over 101 channels. If you do not have a box, which you have to rent via them, you can not get any of HD programming so it is not "free" no matter how many times it states it. Rather than charging for HD programming COX is charging an access fee PER TV.

The only equalizer is that other service mediums other than COX lie has much as COX does about its advantages.
...

roadwarrior2008 says "Poor perfomance, errors and broken promises" about Winster

Avoid Winster like the IRS or the Black Plague. Winster system is extremely slow using Flash for everything with design making you use entire screen (including shutting down all toolbars) or having parts of it not be shown. Whenever their system is slow it blames Winster blames your system for it. All help is dependant upon "Hosts", fellow players who supposedly have your best interest at heart but often make players who do not go along with their ideas including giving them best pieces.
...

roadwarrior2008 says "Advantages and disadvantages, works for some and not others" about MyPoints

Mypoints is great at adverting its advantages but is not good at responding to issues with their website.

Some issues on surveys:

The surveys pay very poorly for amount of time required to do them with survey company often rejecting you almost at end.

Some offers require very specific information identifiable to user (i.e. birthday) which normally you would not provide but sometimes you do not find out it is required until after several screens.

Some surveys require specific software and do not find out until later.

All of these make the potential points hard to obtain.

Other issues:

MyPoints Games is a gambling site and even if you specify not interested in gambling they still send you mail about MyPoints despite multiple requests to stop. Similar to lesser degree about smoking offers.

They will repeat many offers talking about opportunities you may have missed but for many of these offers you do NOT get points for reading it.

Watch out for MyPoints points inflation - that reward you almost...

...

roadwarrior2008 says "Local dining serving great Indian Food" about Dishes Of India - Alexandria, VA

Dishes Of India is in the basement of a suburban Alexandria (outside the beltway) shopping small. When you descend into the restaurant you go via a glass and mirrored stairway taking away any claustrophobia. The restaurant is not very large not the huge restaurant which is very common for local Indian restaurants. The cuisine, mostly Northern, is excellent including the lamb which is what I judge Indian restaurants on first. They also serve buffets on weekends. A second restaurant opened in Chantilly recently.

To the price conscious this restaurant is listed in the Entertainment Book with a card and at least for me they do not even bother punching the card resulting in unlimited "Buy 1, Get 1/2 price" discounts indefinitely. It is also listed on United Airline's Mileage Plus® Miles Dining program so you can collect miles as well if you are registered.
...

Shrek 2 is one of the movies I watch when I need a break from the tension from work or on the road; my DVD is so worn out I needed to buy a second version. While Puss In Boots is the favorite character for many people to me the King is mine and Puss In Boots would have been a better addition for third movie....

I and some friends were in town and we read in a local newspaper about one of the events Jimmy's Old Town Tavern was holding with a Guest Bartendering event. The bartender was a lot of fun keeping everyone engaged and enjoying themselves.

Absolutely great place to hang out with friends....

Whenever I join a site I look at what they require to join - are they making it easy to join or frustrate you when you are trying to join - and mechanism for finding information.

1. Joining - it is very frustration for sites which have handles or aliases if sites do not let you check if handle is used making you re-enter password information.

2. I looked for a hotel I stayed in recently and rather than listing them by how close they are to where I am located they listed them in some internal order. I tried to refine by location but I could not narrow the search area beyond US.

Also it logged me out when I in middle of first review which does not help my opinion.
...
