rklobstr says "Piece of junk." about Nextar - ngps3

My friend bought this Nextar ngps3 GPS, then gave it to me when he bought a better one. We have both been extremely disappointed with the Nextar ngps3. The company has promised since day one to provide updated software 'soon' but in two and one-half years has not issued one update. Many points of interest that the ngps3 lists are closed, and newer places (two years old) are not listed. MP3's can be played with the addition of a SD card, but the SD card must be loaded through a SD reader on your computer. You cannot plug the ngps3 into your computer and load MP3's into it that way. The ngps3 has a short battery life of about 2 hours but can be plugged into a cigarette lighter. The ngps's menus are not intuitive. No GPS software is included for creating routes and downloading from your computer. Customer support is horrible - after only 2.5 years they no longer support this model. The person at their customer service line who told me this was totally unconcerned that they...
...

rklobstr says "Just the basic drill." about Black & Decker Cordless Drill 9089 6.0 v

The Black and Decker cordless drill 9089 is a very basic 6.0 volt drill. At Wal-mart is costs $20. 6.0 volts is enough power to drill a screw into a stud to hang a framed photograph or put together a pre-made bookcase. When I needed to screw into a very hard stud, this drill did not have enough power. The battery does not stay charged for more than a couple of days. I have to pre-plan my projects and charge the drill beforehand. Sometimes I have to stop and let it charge again for a few hours before I can finish my project. The chock is not easy to tighten well and therefore I sometimes find the drill bit sticking out of the wood. It comes with a case that holds the drill and charger cord. The case has a little box inside with a picture of drill bits on it. However this box is extremely difficult to open and is not the right shape or size to hold the drill bit case that also comes with the drill. I think I should have bought something else.
...

rklobstr says "Fast, easy and no oil." about Orville Redenbacher Microwave Popcorn Maker

The Orville Redenbacher Microwave Popcorn Maker is the simplest popcorn maker out there. It is a plastic bowl with a lid. A small paper circle is placed on the bottom of the bowl. The paper has a coating on it that reflects heat around the bowl. Popcorn is poured into the bowl. A couple minutes in the microwave and POW POW POW you're all set. This popcorn is very healthy because there is no oil or butter needed for popping. I put some garlic salt on it and it tastes great just like that. Popcorn by itself is very healthy - the butter and oil are what makes it bad for you. The bowl itself is inexpensive and has no moving parts. Refills of the paper reflector thing, however, are sometimes hard to find. They can be ordered directly from the maker. One paper reflector can be used several times. You just have to make sure it does not get burned by popcorn that falls underneath it, and it's good to go for another batch.
...

rklobstr says "Perfect for my small space." about Dirt Devil VersaPack Vacuum

My house is in the middle of the road - not operating-room clean and not frat-house dirty. The Dirt Devil Versa-Pack vacuum is perfect for me. It is very small and lightweight. It picks up the dust bunnies under the couch and easily maneuvers everywhere. I do not have to go over the same area for five minutes because it is clean right away. I love not having to buy bags. I can bring it upstairs easily, and I can vacuum the stairs easily. The Dirt Devil Versa-Pack has a detachable part that makes small jobs easy, like cereal spilled on the floor. Using this attachment is much easier than using a broom and dustpan. The Dirt Devil Versa-Pack was also very economical at only $25 from a big-lot type store. It is reliable and durable. I am not worried about it breaking from normal use. I can clean my entire small house in a few minutes with this vacuum, empty the bin quickly and move on.
...

rklobstr says "My favorite toy!" about Canon - Digital Rebel Digital Camera

The Canon Digital Rebel is an ideal camera for a 'serious amateur' photographer. The menus and controls are easy to maneuver. You can use fully automatic, fully manual or aperture/shutter priority. The fully automatic modes are very useful when a new opportunity comes up fast. One click of the mode wheel easily changes to the right setting. I especially enjoy the sports mode which includes a four-exposure burst. This means you can hold down the shutter and the camera will take four photos. Take your finger off the shutter for a half-second and press again for four more. Sporting events and (my favorite) wildlife viewing are best captured this way - one of those four shots is usually a keeper. The Canon Digital Rebel also allows you to take three shots, each with a slightly different exposure, when you are unsure about exactly the correct shutter speed or aperature to use. One of the three is usually perfect.
...

rklobstr says "Economical." about Sunbeam Blender 4181

The Sunbeam 4181 blender was only $13 at Wal-Mart. It performs the basic functions one would expect from a basic blender. It has several different speeds which all work. For the price, it is fine. I am not a gourmet so it serves my purposes adequately. It has been reliable and has not caused any major problems. The top seals tightly and does not leak. However the pieces are a hassle to clean. The materials used for the two lid pieces do not shed food easily. Every molecule has to be scrubbed off. The pitcher is sturdy plastic and has measuring marks on the side. Most of it is not hard to clean but the very bottom has too many contours. Food collects in the contours and is hard to get out. The worst part is the bottom piece. The plastic material also does not shed food easily. Too many contours trap food that is hard to access. You have to screw the bottom piece into the pitcher very tightly in order to avoid leaks.
...

rklobstr says "Indispensible." about Sunbeam toaster oven 6201

I use my Sunbeam Toaster Oven 6201 for everything. Every morning I make toast and it always comes out exactly perfect. The heat is very consistant and reliable. The timer and heat controls are accurate every time. I use it for broiling bruschetta, for baking potatoes, for baking french bread pizza and for warming up garlic bread. After making some dishes in the microwave, I often put them into the Sunbeam toaster oven for a little browning under the broiler, especially a dish topped with cheese. I know I can rely on it to perform as expected. The exterior finish is white so it blends in with the rest of my kitchen. This surface is easy to keep clean. The inside of the glass door, however, does get dirty and this stuff is not easily removed. I like the crumb tray but it would be better with fewer nooks and crannies where crumbs fall. I can never get all the crumbs out. Grease is especially hard to clean out of the nooks and crannies, and off the inside of the glass...
...

rklobstr says "Pantene ProV is the best on the market." about Pantene Classic Care

My hair is very thick and coarse. Most drugstore conditioners do not do enough to add moisture and keep my hair from getting tangled. Pantene ProV is the only conditioner that makes my hair soft and smooth, and prevents tangles. It does not weigh my hair down or make my hair feel like it has a lot of 'stuff' on it. An added bonus is the fantastic scent. My hair smells so great all day. There is no need for perfume when you have this clean, fresh scent in your hair. Pantene ProV also adds more shine to my hair than any other brand. I have tried all the expensive salon conditioners but none can make my hair feel or look as good. I get a lot of compliments about my hair from strangers. When I have it cut, the stylist always says my hair is in great condition with few or no split ends. I do not have it trimmed very often so I must believe that Pantene ProV is responsible for this.
...

rklobstr says "The only one that works!" about Aussie All-in-One Shampoo & Conditioner

My hair is very thick and coarse. Showers always take forever because of this. I have tried every all-in-one on the market to speed things up. They all leave my hair feeling too dry and all tangled up. Aussie All-in-One is the only shampoo and conditioner that works for me. The first time I used it, after rinsing it out my hair felt kind of sticky. I was afraid it would be dry just like with all the other products. I almost put some regular conditioner in but I was out of time. As soon as I started to towel-dry my hair, I was so surprised to find that it suddenly felt very soft. I was able to get a comb through my hair easily (unlike with any other all-in-one that leaves too many snarls to comb). It also seems to dry a little bit faster so the whole showering-and-getting-ready process takes less time. Now I use Aussie All-in-One whenever I need to be ready fast, and my hair feels very soft.
...

rklobstr says "They could charge $30 for Pantene ProV and we'd pay it." about Pantene ProV

I have very thick, coarse hair. Most shampoos and conditioners leave it all tangled up. It can be so bad that I can't get a comb through it. Pantene ProV, on the other hand, is the best I've ever used at making it silky and soft. I can easily comb it right out of the shower. Paul Mitchell and all the other expensive salon brands can't hold a candle to Pantene ProV. As an added bonus, Pantene ProV smells fantastic. I wish they'd make body wash because then my skin would have the same amazing scent as my hair. Whenever I have my hair cut, the stylist always remarks that I have very healthy hair with few-or-no split ends. I don't go in for a trim every six weeks so I must attribute the health of my hair to Pantene ProV. My hair would feel dry if I used any other shampoos and conditioners. However with Pantene ProV it never feels dry. My hair is also shiniest when I use Pantene ProV.
...
