ricki says "Can furnish a home in one stop!" about r c willey - Las Vegas, NV

This store has everything one might need to set up a home. Electronics, beds, livingroom, diningroom, family room, game rooms, appliances......you name it and it can be found here. Sales people are nearby, but not hovering. Helpful to answer questions and direct you to the area you need to go to to find accessories, or other rooms to get ideas of what may, or may not, go with what you're considering.

The delivery set up was great, however, the wrong items were sent. We were given a time frame that the delivery people would be there ~ a three hour window. They were prompt, courteous and brought the furniture in and were willing to set it up and remove the plastic wrap. I asked that it not be unwrapped as we were still painting in that room. It was not until after they had left that we discovered two of the pieces were the wrong color. When we contacted the store we were told we would have to talk with our salesperson directly. There was nothing they could do. Was transferred...
...

ricki says "Saved the day during the holidays!" about Amazon.com

I was in a panic looking for a Wii carrying case. I tried Circuit City in Riverside and Victorville, California. Then I called up to Las Vegas to see if their store might have one. I went to Best Buy.....all the stores were out and it was getting closer and closer to Christmas. I typed in the search engine for a Wii carrying case. Amazon.com came up. I hadn't thought about trying there until the search revealed it. I clicked; typed what I wanted and immediately it came up.

There was quite a selection of different cases, but I knew exactly the one that I wanted. It was there. It was the same price as Circuit City and because it was over $25.00, I received free shipping with a guarantee that it would be delivered before 24 December.

It was cutting it short, but I thought I'm not going to get it unless I order from Amazon.com. Well, long story short, it arrived on the 22 December, I wrapped it in the nick of time and it is ready to make one young man very happy on Christmas morning....
...

ricki says "EBAY for the hard to find items!" about eBay

I have been an E-bayer for years....both as a buyer and a seller. When there is something I cannot find in the stores or is of a vintage nature, I usually have pretty good results checking with E-bay. I also have found that when I'm willing to wait for an item I can usually get it at a better price than in the stores.

As a seller I enjoy the process of selling, mailing, etc., however, there is much work involved in getting the items photographed, written up and then online. If the item isn't priced right then there is the expense of listing fees and "eating" that if it doesn't sell.

As a buyer I have found that most are very honest and willing to work with you. Only a couple of times in all the years I've been doing this have I had a seller that wasn't working within the E-bay rules as set forth by E-bay. Pretty good odds.

I have also had an opportunity to meet some very nice people and have continued to maintain contact with them through the years.

As the postage rates increase...
...

ricki says "Tarts with a scent for every season!" about Yankee Candle Tarts Wax Potpourri (all scents)

I am a really big buyer of Yankee products and enjoy the tarts and especially the wide variety of tart burners. The scents are strong enough to smell through the wrap and guess if I wanted to I could put them as is for scents in different rooms. But, I prefer to burn them.

I like the fact that even after they've burned and are a "puddle" in the burner, by just adding another tea light candle it will burn again and give off a scent. Maybe not as strong as the original burn, but still a nice opportunity to get a second use from it.

If I had to name a "con" it would be that it does (well, most of them do) need a tea light. It becomes a bit expensive if I have to buy tea lights in all the matching scents to use so find I usually end up using generaic ones that have no scents.

It's a sin to have a Yankee candle in a home and not light it!

...

ricki says "Makes subscription shopping easy and painless!" about Magazines.com

I came across this site through My Points and tried them. They are reliable and great to work with.

Be careful, however, and read the small print on the automatic renewal. I thought by checking this my subscription would automatically be renewed at the lowest price available through Magazines.com. It you read the fine print it is at the price set by the publisher. For an example I ordered Sports Illustrated one year for $39.95 and checked auto. renewal. When it renewed it was at the publisher's price of $49.95. I called Magazines.com and they told me that price was, in fact, correct. So I xld it with the agent. She was great. Very polite, helpful and took care of the cancellation. I then went on to order it again at the $39.95 price and DID NOT check the auto. renew box.

Then I ordered a magazine for my 16 year old granddaughter. When I told her mother what I had ordered, she advised she was already getting that. I called immediately and without a hassle, it was...
...

ricki says "I have 3 Dell computers and would continue to buy from Dell!" about Dell Online

I have two Dell desktop computers and one laptop and have, for the most part, been very happy with them.

Their online support can be either good or fair depending on the agent you get. I had a tremendous support person that worked with me for three hours trying to resolve an issue I was having. I felt he truly went above and beyond in his efforts.

I have also found with their support that everything is documented and a case number is issued so if one needs to go back the information is stored and I didn't feel as if I had to start all over again with why I was calling.

Sometimes I become frustrated because it is difficult to understand some of their agents as I believe they outsource, as do many companies, but if the person's English is not easily understood, that can be quite challenging.

When time to upgrade my computer, I will continue to purchase a Dell.

...

ricki says "Really like the selection and prices found here!" about Bath and Body Works - - All Cities, USA

I like the selection found at Bath & Body Works. Their products make nice, inexpensive gifts to give all year. I especially like their small version, purse size, anti-bacterial soap. Easy to have on hand when needed. They had some really cute holiday items this year and took advantage of their "sale" prices.

They have a good customer service base. When one first walks into the store there is a greeter and offers to give you a basket for your items. They are attentive, offering to help, but have not found them "pushy".

Recently I was able to split purchases in order to use two $10.00 off coupons. Most stores do not accommodate customers wanting to do this. I feel it promotes good will and a promise of customers returning again.

...

ricki says "Very service oriented. Good customer PR. " about Circuit City

We have shopped at Circuit City for years and always found what we needed. They have honored prices that have been lowered after purchase without a hassle. We appreciate their keeping track of items purchased in the past. Their customer service is very good. If they do not have something in their store, I have found them to call others to check to see if another nearby store might have it. I have them many times to be much lower on same items than the competition....
