Have you heard about the Starbucks Gold Card?

I've used mine for more than a year, and since I'm an every day Starbucks coffee drinker, it has more than paid for itself.

At $25 for one year, the Starbucks Gold Card offers terrific 'perks'! It automatically deducts 10% from in-store purchases. This literally means that for every 10 coffee drinks, I get one free!

The discount applies to more than just beverages. Today I bought a pound of my favorite beans (which the barista grinds for free, to my specifications), got a 10% discount on the beans AND a free tall brewed coffee. I can't get that kind of deal on the coffee I prefer at my local grocery store!

The 10% discount comes in especially handy when purchasing gifts for friends and family during the holidays and birthdays, since I know so many coffee drinkers.

Besides the discount, several times during the year Starbucks has sent coupons to try new drinks like the smoothie: 1 free, two 50% off coupons. I also received !0% off coupons...

Fitness Magazine is the perfect combination of articles and activities to stimulate your mind, body and spirit. As a matter of fact, "Mind, Body + Spirit" is the part of their magazine title!

Each magazine is jam-packed with articles on fitness, health, and nutritional ideas that are reasonable, fun, and usable. I like to sit down with each new issue and skim it cover to cover, marking the pages I plan to come back to for more in-depth reading.

Models look healthy and fit, not anorexic. The focus is on good health, not tiny bodies. You will find a well-balanced mixture of tasty, healthy recipes, reader success stories, fitness product tests (DVDs, equipment, beauty products.) Fashion articles feature healthy models wearing reasonably priced outfits.

The most recent issue featured skin care articles and fitness plans you can try out at home, or at the gym. There are often links to freebies like music downloads or skincare samples. Each month features online giveaway contests, too.

Like opening the biggest, best present you've ever seen, my jaw dropped to the floor when I walked into the brand new 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport club located at 4546 SE Mcloughlin Boulevard in Portland, Oregon.

After spending two years anticipating its completion, I was not disappointed!

Every staff member is warm, outgoing, and encouraging. The sign up process was streamlined and simple. The tour guide answered all of my questions, let me try out every piece of cardio and weight equipment that I wanted to try, and explained about club amenities.

Besides state of the art cardio equipment (stair climbers, treadmills, inclined ramp treadmills, stationery bikes, and more) there are free weights and weight machines that are clearly labeled as to what body areas are targeted and how to use them correctlly.

There's a lap pool, hot tub (spa), and steam room. The shower rooms are beautifully tiled with personal shower stalls. Towel service and lockers are free with membership.

My Apple iPhone has been my constant companion for a year and a half.

What do I love about it?

1. I carry over 1500 photos (taken by me as well as scanned and uploaded from family albums) with me every where I go.

2. The camera takes excellent photos, better than my digital camera EVER did! (It was a Sony CyberShot.)

3. It is SO user friendly, I didn't even need to use the manual to figure out the cool apps.

4. Apple has updated my iPhone software, for free, every time they've come out with a newer iPhone.

5. Sound quality is excellent.

6. Touchscreen is easy to use and easy to clean. No dust and lint can get stuck between little teeny, tiny keys because there ARE none!

7. The QWERTY keyboard on the touchscreen is large enough that I don't have to squint to see the keys. I tried a friend's Blackberry, just ONCE, and thanked my lucky stars I purchased an iPhone instead.

8. It fits perfectly into the Precor machines at 24 Hour Fitness, so I can play my own tunes on the treadmill....

Now that Portland has gone smoke free in all restaurants, I'm discovering wonderful places I would never have tried before. The Semaphore is a tiny homestyle restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One of my favorite aspects is that they serve breakfast ALL DAY and you can get a HUGE, delicious Belgian Waffle for just $2.95!...

I've had my iPhone almost a year now, and it is with me constantly. It is so easy to use, I didn't even need to read the online manual! My favorite components are the calendar, address/phone book, and camera. Synced via mobileme, I can access all my favorite internet sites right from my iPhone AND when I find new sites I love, they automatically transfer to my computer!...

I LOVE this product and have told everyone I can drag into my kitchen about how fantastic Mr. Clean Magic Eraser cleans Pergo flooring!

For 15 years, I had swept and damp mopped that floor and never noticed that grime was building up in the micro grooves. WOW! I used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and my whole kitchen got brighter! I had NO IDEA how dingy the floor had become.

Yahoo! What a great product!
