rezgrrl says "Shipping deals make this the best-priced ferret site" about ferret.com

I do love this store. My on-line ferret store purchases are usually heavy (food, cages, and other items that usually incur additional shipping fees), so I'm crazy about the fact that ferret.com occasionally has inexpensive flat-rate shipping deals in addition to their very competitive prices. Even with a 20% shelter discount at other on-line sites, my orders are usually cheaper at this one. And when things run smoothly, items are shipped promptly and arrive with no hassle at all. However, there are glitches. I recently ordered food that was billed as being "in-stock." (Ferret.com makes much of their "real-time" information about what is and isn't in stock, and about having the highest in-stock percentages in the business.) Over a week later, the food still hadn't shipped, and on-line tracking still showed it as being in the warehouse. When I finally asked customer service, I was told that the food was on back-order, and would ship very shortly. And all this time, the on-line description......

rezgrrl says "Get the real thing" about L'Oreal Bare Nataurel Mineral Makeup

Even though L'Oreal is one of the worst companies on the market for animal testing, I sort of wanted to like this product. I'm always looking for cheaper and more convienient alternatives to Bare Minerals makeup, and L'Oreal was probably the first drug store option. It went on beautifully, and I was excited. At the end of the day, however, I caught a glimpse of myself in the rear view mirror and was completely shocked. The makeup had liquified and sort of slid off my nose, leaving it bare, red, and shiney except for a number of dots clustered around the pores. It was freakish and extremely embarrassing--so much so that I immediately threw away the rest of the container. Mind you, my nose gets a little bit oily. But not unusually oily. If it works like this on skin that's nearly fifty, I'd say it can't be a good option for most others considering buying it. The Avon (difficult color matching) and Cover Girl (freakish glitter effect in natural light) weren't much better, but Physician's Choice......

rezgrrl says "Yum! Yum! Gimme Some!" about Ferret N-Bone Chew Treats

Wonderful treats! The only ferret I've ever had who didn't BEG for them was one who couldn't open his jaw. They're good for the teeth, and I believe they also help prevent hairballs by clearing things out. Ferrets hide them, hoard, them, eat them up. Yes, they desreve to have what they love and will keep them healthy. There is absolutely no need for sugary treats when ferrets also love the things that are good for them. (We humans should be so smart!) Most on-line ferret stores have these for about half the price of pet stores so it's easy to add to a larger order without paying any extra for shipping.
...

rezgrrl says "The perfect animal--please don't get one!" about Ferret

Don't get me wrong--ferrets are my all-time favorite animals. I'm happily devoting my life to them. They're gregarious, playful, loving, and smart. Not to mention soulful, soft, and loving.

But as a rescuer and shelter operator, I wish far fewer people would get ferrets. That way fewer ferrets would be homeless. I wouldn't recommend them for people who cannot afford huge vet bills, people with small children, or people who aren't willing to completely turn their lives upside down. They're also not for anyone who may be going off to college, transferring to California, or who would consider getting rid of the ferret after having a child. Your recliner? Gone--because of the danger it poses to the ferret. Your sofabed? And actually most of your upholstered furniture? Gone! Potted plants on the floor? Doggie door? The other sock? Gone, gone, gone! Oh, and remember that nice vacation you were going to take? I hope you still have enough money after your ferret gets sick, and that you can find...
...

rezgrrl says "horrible product, great company" about Avon Anew Alternative Intensive Age Treatment Day SPF 25

After using this product, I had to leave work early and take several days off because I was so doped up on the benedryl I had to take. The extreme allergis reaction sent me to the doctor and almost to the hospital. The on;y good thing I have to say is that the company has an excellent return policy. Not work risking your health over, but excellent.
...
