ramonv says "Great prices, good selection, slow service" about familyvideo.com

Familyvideo.com sells video games and DVDs. They have both new and used.

The prices for used items are very cheap, and the prices for new items are often the cheapest you'll find.

Shipping is only 97 cents!

The biggest problem is you can expect to wait one to two weeks to receive your item.

Another problem is they don't use the best packaging (what do you want for 97 cents?)

I ordered a video game that came in a thicker-than-usual box, and that box was a bit smashed when it arrived. It was shipped in a puffy envelope. The game was in perfect condition, though.
...

ramonv says "Good service, nice flowers, a bit pricey" about 1-800-Flowers.com

1-800-FLOWERS is the best on-line flower delivery business I've used.

The flowers are fresh, and delivered when they're supposed to be.

They are a bit pricier than some of the others, but worth it, in my opinion.

Keep in mind that some of the flowers you order will be coming from a local florist, and then you're at the mercy of that florist. My experience has been that they are connected with pretty good local florists, and you'll get better flowers than if you go through FTD. It will always be clearly stated when you are getting flowers from a local florist.
...

ramonv says "Annoying host, annoying kids, annoying contestants" about Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?

Foxworthy is rarely funny. The kids can be very annoying. The contestants are dumb, annoying, or both. The biggest problem is there is so much filler. If you record this show, you can watch it in less than 10 minutes. Believe me, you won't miss anything....

ramonv says "Couldn't be easier!" about Actiontec MegaPlug™ (789286806239) Network Adapter

I recently purchased the Actiontec MegaPlug 85 Mbps Powerline Ethernet Adapter Kit. You can buy this as a kit, or you can buy them individually. But you need at least two to start with, so unless you have one already, it's cheaper and more convenient to buy the kit.

What this item does, is it allows you to effortlessly connect any network-enabled item in your house to your existing internet connection. You can connect a laptop, desktop, Xbox, Playstation, Wii, etc.

I bought it to connect my son's desktop to our existing DSL service. I received the package, opened it, and then plugged one adapter into a wall socket in my office, running a provided ethernet cable from the adapter to my modem/router. Then I went to his room, and plugged the other adapter in, near his computer. I ran the other provided ethernet cable from that adapter to his PC's ethernet plug, and voila! he was connected to the internet. No software needed, nothing to install on either pc at all! It does...
...

ramonv says "Not horrible, but very forgettable" about Prince - Planet Earth

I've been a fan of Prince since his second album, but this one is nothing special. Lyrically, it's a real disappointment. Prince has written some great lyrics, but not here. He tries too many times to be "hip", by including current slang, and it really sounds forced, coming from someone pushing 50. He also makes a few too many biblical references. Some of the tunes are ok, but nothing that really makes you want to listen again. I listened twice, to see if it would grow on me. Not as bad as Rainbow Children, but not nearly as good as 3121, and not even close to Musicology. If you must have it for your collection, try to find it cheap, or let someone else buy it for you as a gift. That's what I did....
