quilter says "No phosphates!! Works!! And cheaper than Seventh Generation" about Trader Joe's Next to Godliness

This is only available at Trader Joe's stores, of which there are only a handful compared with Target and some of the grocery chains, but they are fabulous stores and well worth seeking out. They specialize in basic and trendy foods and household goods, and they just don't carry everything, but I love that they have this phosphate free dishwasher detergent. I have used Method (available at Target), Seventh Generation (available at many different places), and Planet (made in Canada and I have only seen at Rainbow Foods). I think this works as well as Seventh Gen and better than Planet and Method, and it's cheaper than all of them....

quilter says "sweet movie with positive message for kids" about The Last Mimzy

I liked the story and the performance by the kids and the science teacher; every day people in the middle of something great and managing to rise brilliantly to the occaision. I was disappointed by the parents and the investigators, their characters seemed to have tunnel vision and the actors seemed to be walking through the roles. Overall I think it's a very good movie... I felt wonder and hope as I watched and was reminded how great the human spirit can be, even in small packages....

quilter says "great and easy to use cover" about Bummis Super Whisper Wrap Diaper Cover

I got this cover in Medium and another of the same brand with snaps. I find the velcro a little easier to use and get on, but the velcro is starting to get a little fuzzy and less "sticky." The snaps take an extra minute to get on and adjusted, but they have not loosened up and stay snug. I have always line dried these covers and they are holding up after many uses and washes. They fit over all the cloth diapers I have tried and contain messes very well, as long as you adjust it to be snug and poke the diaper into the legs. They have yellowed a bit over time, but I think that it inevitable with the waterproof materials used. My daughter is pushing 30 pounds and has thined out and is getting tall, and can still wear the Med very comfortably....

quilter says "great value, functions well" about Baby Trend Diaper Champ

I think this is the best choice out there for a diaper pail that uses disposable bags. You can use free bags from your errands and grocery shopping, it's inexpensive, and it keeps odors down much better than anything cheaper (IE, a bucket with a lid you lift each time).

Speaking of odors... I think a lot of people think that diaper pails gradually let more odor out... the simple fact is that you start getting more odor when your child starts eating solids, and even more when the child eats dairy and meat. It's not the seals or gaskets, it's the pooop that smells more. I only smell the diapers when I open up the lid... which is actually more often than I would like. I use cloth diapers and my wipes and the corners of diapers can get stuck in the "chute" and require a yank to free them. I still think this is the best option that I know of....

quilter says "nice nursing pillow" about Boppy Bare Naked Pillow

I really liked my Boppy pillow. I bought one cover and my mom made me a few spares. I have to say that I like the "Nest" pillow that I got from JoAnn's even better, though... it was stuffed more firmly and was a little taller. Both made nursing much more comfortable and were much more comfy for my and my daughter than stacking regular pillows. I liked that I could stand up and support both the pillow and my daughter while I grabbed something and didn't have to rearrange things like with regular pillows. My Boppy survivied a couple of gentle washings in a front loader with a bit of lumpiness that didn't really affect it's use... the cover washed many times very nicely....

quilter says "fun bedtime book for toddlers" about Pajama Time!

I love this book - you can have fun with the rhymes, with the rhythm, with the idea of animals in pajamas, and with talking about bedtime. It's one of my favorite books to read to my daughter at bedtime... before one that is a little more soothing and quiet, of course!...

quilter says "my favorite cloth diapers" about Fuzzi Bunz Pocket Diapers

I've tried several different pocket diapers and cloth diapers that require seperate covers, and fuzzi bunz are my favorite. They are also the most expensive. BUT... they wear very well, only leak if you don't put enough "stuffing" in them or forget to change, and you don't have to reach in and pull out the wet stuffings (faster and more sanitary getting them ready to wash). They also are the trimmest diaper, so my child is more comfortable in them. The fleece lining has never been stained by poops, and all my cotton and hemp diapers have....
