prozacwoman says "Former Full-time Pumper Recommends This Pump!" about Avent Isis Manual Breast Pump

Neither of my daughters would eat directly from the "spigot", so I got an Avent Isis because I wanted to feed them breastmilk as long as I could. With my first, I pumped with the Isis for 10 months, until I got pregnant again and my milk production went into the toilet. With the second, I pumped for 5 months, then dried up inexplicably. I think it was the stress. But this is a very easy pump to use. I have overly-large breasts, and I had to take the rubber thing out of the horn because it wouldn't get good suction, but with it out, it was fine. I used to have contests to see how long I could get a stream to keep going. LOL Hey, when you're sitting there pumping for a half hour at a time, you have to keep yourself amused somehow.

So, if you want to pump full time and can't afford an electric pump, get the Avent Isis.
...

prozacwoman says "Save money and make your own!" about Homemade Baby Food

I bought baby food in jars for a long time, but then it occurred to me...why not make my own? It would probably be most healthy to get raw foods and steam them and blend them up yourself, but I didn't have time to do all that, so I bought canned veggies and put them in my mini food processor with some water and blended them until they were baby food consistency. Then I put them into individual small containers and kept a few out but put the rest in the freezer. The things my baby liked the best were sweet potatoes and SPAM turkey. I know that sounds gross, but SPAM turkey is actually pretty good. Tastes just like the baby food. LOL But anything works-green beans, peas, whatever. And you can make your own blends. Saves lots of money. People who are worried about preservatives probably wouldn't go this route though....

prozacwoman says "I used them for coasters! LOL" about Lansinoh Breast feeding pads

I tried to breastfeed, but it didn't work out. Instead, I pumped. I had some of these pads on hand for leakage, but you know, I never did leak. Only when I inadvertently put pressure on a breast when it was full and ready to be pumped. So I used them for coasters. They work GREAT for that! LOL...

prozacwoman says "Breast Pumps R Us!" about Breastfeeding Opinion

I've had 2 babies, and I planned to breastfeed both of them. Needless to say, the best laid plans...blah blah blah. I used to dream about sitting in a rocking chair, breastfeeding my baby, so imagine my bitter surprise when my first baby would NOT nurse. She would arch her back and try to get away from me! Okay, my breasts were rather zepplin-like, and yeah, they were bigger than her head, but come on! They weren't THAT scary. And they had food! What baby doesn't want food? Well...mine. LOL I was so disappointed that she wouldn't nurse, but I did the second best thing...I pumped. For 10 MONTHS with an Avent Isis manual pump. Yeah, it was a hassle, and yeah it took alot of time, and yeah, it wasn't always easy to find a good place to whip out my boobs in peace. But it was totally worth it, IMO. I had the best food, made especially for my baby, on hand, and it's so much cheaper than formula, it's not even funny! My first daughter hasn't been sick very much at all, and she's in the 75th %ile......

prozacwoman says "One of the BEST Koontz books ever" about Tick Tock

This book was awesome. It was so fast paced, you literally could not put it down. It flew by way too fast for me. The characters were great, the plot was great, classic Dean Koontz. If you're looking for a good, fast book to read, get this one!...

prozacwoman says "The Best I've Tried!" about Balmex Diaper Rash Cream

My oldest daughter (now 4) was horrible to potty train. She wouldn't poop at all, until she absolutely HAD to, and never in the pot. So the pediatrician prescribed Miralax to make it soft enough that she couldn't hold it in. Consequently, she always had poop in her diaper, which led to...duh duh dah dah DAH!! Constant diaper rash! Simply put, the Balmex workes the fastest and the best. It really does what it says on the box. I've tried almost all the butt creams out there, and this one worked the best for us. And it smells good too!...

prozacwoman says "If you hate shaving with razors, you need this product!" about 3rd Planet Body Bare Shaver

If you are an "intimate" shaver, you need this thing! My hubby wanted me to try shaving, and I said I didn't want the fuss of shaving an area every day that I couldn't see very well. LOL He said he'd do it for me. Okay, sure. So I let him shave me. Interesting experience, lemme tell ya. ;-) So anyway, the shave bumps were incredibly bad! Itchy, hurty, etc etc, and I said I didn't think I could put up with this. But then I decided to look for an intimate electric shaver. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad as a razor. I found the Body Bare electric shaver on eBay, from a seller called "illioc". Awesome seller! Go have a look. The shaver was around $40. It sounds like alot, but believe me, if you want to shave but don't want to use a razor, THIS is what you want! You have to have short hair to begin with, because it doesn't grab longer hairs, so you need to trim with scissors or whatever first. Then it can grab the hairs and cut them, and you don't need to have any kind of lotion! You have to......

prozacwoman says "If your nose hates cats, buy this litter!" about Fresh Step Plus Dual Action Crystals Cat Litter (25 Lb Box)

To put it simply, Fresh Step ROCKS! It's the best that I've tried for controlling stinky cat box odors. The box has gone for a week without being scooped out (oops! lol), and still didn't stink until I took the top off the covered cat box. If the smell of cat boxes is your biggest concern, get Fresh Step. It's more expensive than the bargain cat litters, but it's less than Tidy Cats, and it works better!...
