Thinkorswim is recommended for advanced traders.

Because of the complexity of both the desktop and web versions of the thinkorswim application, we recommend thinkorswim for those that are looking for an advanced trading engine. Those that are looking for only basic trading functionality might be better off with one of the more simplified, web based trading platforms offered by competitors. The thinkorswim stock trading, options trading and charting features are outstanding. Research tools are the weakest aspect of the service and could use improvement. Note that the web based version of thinkorswim is nearly as good as the desktop application. Commissions and fees can vary greatly but should be acceptable for most investors. Be aware that thinkorswim has been acquired by TD Ameritrade and thus big changes could be in store. For the time being, however, thinkorswim is an excellent broker choice.

Think or swim, I disliked the trading platform because it was too complicated to use. I use Ameritrade with the same features and it is vey user friendly....

Thinkorswim, the brokerage with the funny name, has the best research tools to aid you in your invetment decisions. They also have the lowest charges for trades. Excellent for day trading....
