I am a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds who is absolutely gorgeous, so I was not at all doubtful that this was going to be a great movie. It incorporates a lot of modern aspects like the song "Get Low" and the fact that Sandra Bullock attempts to dance to it, which was absolutely hilarous. The story is all about black mail but it has a beautiful twist to it in that that black mail turns to romance. Sandra Bullock is a power house woman is hated by all her staff. Her assistant Ryan Reynolds dreads having to work for her however he is hoping to one day becoming an editor. Sandra's Visa expires and in order to stay in the United States she forces her assistant to marry her so that she can become a U.S. citizen. The story then follows these two characters as they put on a charade that eventually turns into real love as they learn more about each other in 3 days than they did in 3 years. It is a must see for people of all ages.

I will admit that I was hesistant to watch the Proposal but my wife insisted. I was actually very impressed with this movie. I feel like women will enjoy it a little more than men as it somewhat demasculinizes men but it truly is a wonderful movie. A powerhouse women is facing deportation and what does she do? She forces her assistant into marrying her. Little does she know, that he is a very wealthy man who basically lives on his own island. Through their little adventure together they learn a lot about each other and about finding love. They both suffered tragedies with the loss of loved ones. Although this movie is mainly a comedy there are parts that are quite sad but you can easily relate to. There are so many hilarous moments that you will want to watch over and over again. Sandra Bullock is very funny and combine that with Betty White and you have an instant hit. I highly recommend this movie.

I ordered this movie from Netflix and was actually waiting for it to arrive (which I normally dont do...but this movie looked cute). I watched it over the weekend and was glad I saw it alone...it's not that its a chick flick...but I have a feeling that more of the watchers of this movie are famales. Ryan Reynolds is adorable in this movie...and Sandra Bullock's character slowly changes from a nightmare boss into some actually likeabl by the end. If you've ever worked somewhere where there is a boss that frightens people the movie is more identifiable. Most people can probably already guess the ending --in most parts...but it is a cute love story that takes a few small twists and funny turns. I have to admit that I can either take or leave Sandra Bullock in most of her movies...but I liked how she portrayed her character is the Proposal.

Final thoughts: In the end I'm glad that I saw this movie...a lighthearted movie that doesn't make you think too much.

The Proposal starring, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Mary Steenburgen is a laugh out loud comedy that will have you cracking up. It's not for little kids since there is some nudity.Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are excellent actors who have a great on screen connection!

The boss of a publishing company Margaret (Bullock) has an expired Visa and is about to be deported back to Canada unless she comes up with a way to be legally in the US. She drags her assistant/secretary Andrew (Reynolds) into this by announcing they're engaged!

Andrew negotiates himself a rise of being editor and having a manuscript published that he wants. In return he'll pull of this so called engagement and marriage. They go to Alaska to visit and celebrate Andrews grandma's 90th birthday.

While in Alaska both Andrew and Margret deal with getting to knowing each other and getting into interesting situations that cause the viewer to laugh! It's not the deepest plot ,butr it is a...

Went to see this with my group of girl chick-flick lovers. We found "The Proposal" laugh out loud funny and a good movie to watch on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Sandra Bullock is domineering and feared and Ryan Reynolds is definitely easy on the eyes. Try this to get a good laugh, especially the scene where they take Sandra to a neighborhood bar to witness the town's resident male stripper.

The proposal was a wonderfully funny Romantic Comedy in which a book editor ,Sandra Bullock. forces her male assistant played by Ryan Reynolds to marry her so that she can stay in the country. But don't feel bad for him because he milks it as mush as possible makes her propose in the street and gets her to agree that he gets a job as an editor and that his book is pulished as well but best of all he gets to fall in love and be loved back. When they travel to Alaska to meet his family, they end up falling in love. She meets his ex-girlfriend and is guleces.

I loved that in the offece when she was coming they would say the witchs is on her way.It was funny when Bullock we trying to get her phone back from the bird by tradeing for the dog and his mother and grand mother thought she was playing with him. This movie was funny from the very beinging to the very end even the cireds were funny.

Oh and what can i say when she came out of the shower and he was going in they both have unbelievably...

I absolutely LOVE this movie. I watched it twice already.

One reason i wanted to see this movie so bad was the fact Ryan Reynolds was in it. Not only is he cute, but he is a great actor and is hilarious. Sandra Bullock is also a great actress and i love her as well.

This movie was great because it was a chick flick but it had comedy in it which made it a movie for guys to see as well. Which means my boyfriend watched it with me.

This movie definitley deserves 5 stars. No doubt about it.

Proposal is a funny movie and worth seeing again. Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock are very funny together with the physical comedy and gags. Betty White's cameo scenes are very funny when grabbing Sandras areas and dancing with her. Craig T. Nelson plays Ryan's father does a good job. Mary Steenburgen plays Ryan's mother and does a good job too. The plot is about Sandra who plays Ryan's boss is about to be deported because of missing paperwork so she devises to marry Ryan to stay in the country and keep her job. Ryan goes along with a bribe to publish his papers and he goes along with the plan. But he has to meet his parents in Alaska and Sandra goes along.

There are very funny scenes in the movie. It is enjoyable and people will like to see it again for the humor and gags. There are funny scenes with birds and the dog that will make people laugh out loud. Especially the scene with the cell phone

The proposal is one of those rare movies that can make you laugh and cry the whole way through. Sandra bullock is amazing as the editor who is getting deported! She fits the mold perfectly and was complimented by Ryan Reynolds as the male lead. Through their adventures in Alaska you fall in love with her after having so much hate for her when the movie began. It keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The twist at the end is phenomonal and you couldnt ask for a better plot. The ideas are very original and is not at all predictable. Its an idea that everyone is familiar with but they took it to a whole new level and executed it perfectly. The Proposal is a great movie to go see with your significant other. It has something for everyone its a comedy for all the comedy fans with a heartbreaking love story for all the romantics out there. This is a movie that all can enjoy and appreciate. It makes you want to be a part of the family.

Sitting down in the theater to watch The Proposal, I felt like I was reaching withdrawal. After all, it's been a few months since I saw <i>Ghosts of Girlfriends Past</i>. I was in need of a feel good romantic comedy. And who better to deliver one that Sandra Bullock. I found exactly what I wanted and needed in The Proposal.

While some people don't like romantic comedies, or "romcoms," because they're too predictable, perhaps that's exactly why I like them. I know what I'm getting. I'm getting a story about two unlikely people that fall in love against the odds, face an obstacle, then give us that happy ending that we desire. Basically all you need to complete that formula are some good stars and a well-written story.

The story is a good one here, and one that leads to some fun, if not obvious humor. Margaret (Sandra Bullock) is an orphaned Canadian book editor living in NYC. She leads a pretty lonely life, filling it up with work commitments. Everyone she works with is afraid of her, snapping...

Friday night was my monthly Girls Night Out with Memaw and Carla. We originally planned on seeing My Sister's Keeper but then the younger girls including me decided we wanted to watch that movie with sisters and girlfriends so we had a change of plans.

I have been a fan of Sandra Bullock since I saw her in the Speed movies. I loved her in Hope Floats and an attorney from church took me to see Two Weeks Notice. Family and friends saw Miss Congeniality and then it was brought to my attention that we resembled each other. Could I be her long lost twin?

What more can you ask of a romantic comedy than it be romantic, have some comedy, be touching here and there, have a professional cast that know what they are doing and doing it well and throwing in some scenic sights in Alaska?? "The Proposal", with some minor quibbling, fits the category in all aspects. It is not a classic film, it won't be quoted and, in most cases, will quickly be forgotten after a day or two but for a summer movie, for a pleasant hour and 50 minutes, to relax and watch good looking people having fun, the time goes by, getting out of the heat or summer rain and no harm done.

There are a few quibbles as I said but they are minor. I don't see how Sandra Bulloock can stand, let alone walk and act, in those high heels that she wears in the first half of the movie and she is, to me, uncomfortably thin. Her role as Margaret isn't challenging, she has been down this road before, but she makes it seem fresh just as the writer of the film, Peter Chiarelli, makes all...
