The easiest way to get kids to eat an apple is to put it on this thing and have them peel and slice it. Great for fresh hard apples! I also use it on potatoes that I then fry up. I like it.
...

dragonflyyk says "A simple way to slice an apple!" about Pampered Chef Apple Corer/Slicer

I have a 4 year old son that is an apple-aholic.He loves to have his apples peeled and cut so when I went to a pampered chef party I saw this and knew I had to have it! It peels, slices and cores your apple all at once! The best thing is that it is simple to use.You push the end of an apple on to the 3 prongs and start turning the handle.Voila you have a sliced, cored peeled apple. The core is left on the prongs and the peel is off to the side kinda messy but so worth it.Your apple comes off as a spiral. You flatten the spiral and put 2 slits in it and you have your slices. The negative about it is that you have to purchase the wood block separately that you screw the slicer on but I use my kitchen table and it works perfectly. The only other thing is that the host said it could peel a potato but I have not tried that....

Where I am from pampered chef parties happen all the time. Unfortunately, I have been invited to several and have to find something economical to purchase so that I do not seem rude.

It was at one of these parties that I discovered one of the best cooking tools ever. No, the host of the party did not demonstrate it. I just looked thru the book for something cheap that I could use in my everyday life and ran across this .... The apple slicer.

This tool is round with a circle in the middle surrounded by pie shaped areas. The purpose, to core and slice the apple at the same time. It works great on apples, but I also found a new use for the handy dandy tool.

I have recently found a love for a new recipe called cucumber salad. While I love the cucumber, I hate the seeds. I use the apple corer/slicer to remove the seeds and slice the cucumber at the same time. This saves time and energy.
...
