I was so excited when I got my Roomba: "Wall-E" did just what he was supposed to do every day. He picked up dog hair and kid crumbs an saved me lots of time. I would leave in the morning, he would work while I was gone, then he'd be back in his dock. My kids are afraid of the vacuum, but get woken up by it if I try why they're napping, so this was the perfect solution for our family. After about 3 months,though, one thing after another went wrong with our Roomba: brushes stopped spinning, the lighthoused malfunctioned, the battery wouldn't hold a charge, etc. I wanted to exchange it for a new one at my costco, but they stopped carrying them because of all the problems. iRobot sent me several replacement parts, then a new robot, but it sucks (not like it's supposed to). I will be returning it to Costco. If it would have performed like it did at the beginning, I'd be thrilled. It's a big chunk of change to pay for something that only lasts a few months, though.

The upper level of our home is almost entirely dark laminate flooring. Dush often settles on the surface making it look unappealing. after growing tired of the endless sweeping and moping, I purchased a Roomba. I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. I have it scheduled to run daily so my floors are always crumb and dust free. What a time saver. The only thing I have to remember to do is empty the dust bin compartment every few days. It is amazing how much debris this little thing picks up daily. Makes me wonder why I hadn't purchased it sooner, because I for sure didn't sweep daily (though apparently I needed to be). The cost is a bit spendy but truly worth every penny.

I love my Roomba by I robot, I recently moved into a large home with hardwood floors. I also have large area rugs. The Roomba cleans them all unbelievable, I could not clean them as well as the Roomba does. It goes under my furniture and cleans all around the baseboards and under kitchen cabinets.I have always had a big heavy vacuum and didn't think any thing could clean like my Hoover, however after using my Hoover I ran my Roomba and couldn't believe the dirt it got up. It cleans while I am out. The Roomba goes from hardwood floors to carpet effortlessly it even cleans the hearth of my firelplace. I would recommend this to everyone. I can't say enough good things about my roomba, I even named it Mabel.

I have my Roomba 550 for about 4 months now. As a working wife with three dogs, two cats, a husband and an aunt all living under on roof I have dirt, dust and animal hair. I bought my Roomba (I named her Marge) in hopes of not having to vacuumn every day. At first I thought this was going to work out well. I am disappointed though. I have her programed to clean the entry, great room and kitchen. These floors are tile, laminate and a couple of area rugs. She can't get under the furniture, where dog hair loves to hide. Also she leaves behind hair and lint on the edges of the rug. Another issue is that it is noisy. For a quick pick up she does okay. I also wish that I didn't have to clean her so often, one run through these rooms and she is full!

Great conversation starter. Poor vacuum for our home. I'm a stay-at-home Mom with a toddler and I found this vacuum was a pain to have to deal with every other day, had to constantly monitor it as it would get stuck in various spots and then avoid "debris" that I really NEEDED vacuumed up. After a few weeks, it has terrible "battle scars" from running into every piece of furntiure I own over and over and over...I won't even mention the affect on said pieces. But for me the most frustrating issue is the hair (mainly mine and my 7 year olds long hair) caught in the gears so I have to literally cut it out and spend at least 20 -30 minutes unwrapping it from the gears and nooks and crannies in the vacuum. I could have my whole home vacuumed with an upright in the same amount of time. Maybe this is good for small working families, singles or empty-nesters who are gone all day and don't have to deal with the noise or maintenence. Just not for my family.

I have the roomba scheduled to start at certain time everyday and it sweeps for me. Before I had this Vacuun I had to clean my floors everyday because of the dust on the wood floors. Now it does it for me....

I love the theory behind the roomba robotic vacuum! BUT... the whole point of getting a device like this is to save time and make things easier and that is not the case with this particular model. The roomba gets clogged and won't work on a regular basis. Granted I have long curly hair and a boxer and that may add to it but I do feel that it should be able to clean a whole room without having to be cleaned. Also, the side spinning brush broke within 2 months of having it. Given the $300 average price tag I would expect a little more and a bit better durability from this machine. ...

The irobot sounds like a perfect cleaner but it was broken when it first came to us out of the box and it took almost 2 hours to talk with customer service about it. When it finally worked, it wouldn't go onto oriental rugs from our wood floors so it was basically worthless so was returned....

I love my Roomba! We got it as a gift - as more of a joke rather than a functioning vacuum cleaner. But it cleans far better than my standard, pretty pricey upright vacuum! I had just cleaned our carpets with my other vacuum the first time we tried out the Roomba and watched it spin around in circles. It picked up TONS of dirt when I thought my floors were pretty clean! I was sold. The best part is we schedule it to vacuum at night while we are sleeping, so every morning I wake up to a clean house. I still use my other vacuum for things the Roomba can't reach (basically anything requiring a hose). But the Roomba is a great vacuum for everyday cleanliness. I would recommend it to anyone! We eventually will get another one so that we can have one upstairs and one downstairs.

The roomba is an excellent help to keep my house clean. It vacuums the house while I am doing the ironing or other house chores.

We use it twice a week to keep our appartement clean. It does a great job as long as you don't give it to much surface to clean in one time. Use the lighthouse to make the surface smaller and the chance is bigger it cleans every squared inch.

I cann't miss it any more!

The only small disadvantage is that it does not clean the edges. But than again a regular vacuum cleaner can not reach the edges also very well.

My Name is Barnaby,
I am a iRobot Roomba!
I have been with this family for the last five years!

This little powerful sweeping machine cleans as good
or better than I can.
I can't get under couches, tables or beds with my upright vacuum, however he can go under them and come out by himself.
He is so helpful,
we named him "Barnaby"
and are so glad we adopted him into our family.

The iRobot Roomba works all by itself and recharges while we sleep.
We just have to block off doorways to the room needing cleaning and then push the button on the Roomba and off it goes to do its job.
It stops automatically based on the scheduled preset time.
I then pick it up by its's handle and carry it to the next room that needs sweeping.
Place on floor, push on the button and off it goes....Whrrrrrrrrrr!
We take it to Tucson, AZ when I go for the winter..It rides on the back floor of the car all the way and never ask, "Are we there yet?"
In Tucson we have tile floors and it takes great care in sweeping up all of the...
