LisaCarey says "Saves Paper, Time, Money and Makes Party Planning Fun!" about evite

The Internet provides us with so many opportunities for work and play, learning and even loving (my husband and I met online). While I am always interested in trying something new whether it is in real life or on line, there is something about the tried and true websites where you can't go wrong. evite.com is one of them.

evite.com is your online party hosting package providing you with online invitations, a party blog, recipes, gift ideas and even in one case a $5.00 coupon to Babies R Us right on our baby shower invitation page. You can provide directions to your home, allow guests to make their own comments about attending and RSVP saving you from missing those important phone calls or getting the count for your party or get together ALL wrong. It also gives guests a chance to "get to know each other" before the party. Attendees can also indicate if they are bringing something (such as a carry in dinner) or you can provide special instructions to guest before the party. ...
...

I was not actually the person to find Evite which would probably surprise a lot of people who know I'm always seeking new and fun things online. It was a friend of mine who was having a big New Year's bash back in 2004. I thought the site was cool right off the bat, but I was leery of using it for myself thinking that it was too informal OR too cumbersome for little parties. Now, 4 years later, I totally love this site! Read on to find out why...

What is it?
It's exactly what it sounds like Evite = Electronic Invite. The simple description is that it allows you to send a mass invitation to any group of people, as long as you have their email address. Those people can then easily and quickly RSVP right on the site with a Yes, No or a Maybe. A reminder is automatically sent to the people who said Yes or the people who did not respond a number of days before the event. All of this is AWESOME because now you have solved a bunch of common party RSVP problems.

A) You KNOW if they...
...

thomasin says "saves money and time, and keeps everyone in touch" about evite

I love this site. It makes things easier whether I'm the one doing the inviting or the one being invited. It's totally free, but there are lots of cool designs for the invites, and it makes it easier to give directions, organize who's bringing what, let guests see who else is coming, or cancel at the last minute due to weather, etc. I had organized a party via evite, and then my son came down with pinkeye the day before. This let me notify everyone without making a ton of phone calls....

evite makes sending out invitations to parties so quick and easy! I love how you can track RSVPs and even get a notice that they have come in. The only draw back is that you need the email address of everyone you want to invite. But once you have all of those collected you can keep them in your contact list in evite to use for future events. I will never send out a paper invitation again! Maybe not even for my wedding... :-)
...

carilyn says "RSVP Management at its Finest" about evite

What did we ever do without evite? I'm telling you this is a lifesaver. I feel like I am planning playdate after playdate and with feeling guilty too about using paper invitations (although I must confess, I still love them) it is a great way to coordinate a party for a child or a get-together with a preschool class when there are so many people involved that you can't possibly remember who is coming and who is bringing what.

I love the option to send out reminders, ask people to bring something, and if you need to cancel, with the touch of a button, you can do just that. It has literally saved my life. When I was planning our end-of-year preschool party, we opted to use evite instead of a paper invitaton and it was just a simple option. No back-and-forth emails either or keeping track of people's responses.

I highly recommend it for playdates too with multiple families.
...
