JennBash73 says "If you are going to shop online, why not get money back?" about ebates.com

I can't speak highly enough about how great this is. If you are shoping on line for anything you should always go through a rebate site. There are many good ones out there, but I am favorable to Ebates.com. They not only give you a bonus sign up of $5 when you join, but you earn cash back for most of your purchases. It may not be a lot, but when you are on a budget, to get 4 or 5% back on your purchases for TOTALLY free without doing anything, it is really a no brainer! You literally don't have to do a thing! Sign up is free, and they even give you the website's current deals or free shipping codes...all kinds of discounts. They also do not bog your inbox down with information but will let you know of special deals that come through. For example, you could buy concert tickets at Ticketmaster and get $13 back if you just go through Ebates. Again, why wouldn't you want to save $13 on your purchase for doing nothing???
...

For starters the website is super easy to use, no tedious registration; quick and straight to the point. Everything is clearly stated.

Basically they pay you to shop, just find the merchant (find is applicable) in the ebates website and make a purchase, just after a couple hours you will see your ticket (purchase) reflected on the ebates website and start tracking it to get your cash back

Simply AWSOME!!!

I'm all about online shopping and actually visited the local mall a couple of months ago for like the first time in FIVE YEARS. I buy all of my clothes, beauty products, and gifts (Christmas and birthday) online, so I was super-excited to discover Ebates.com which is a site that gives you back a percentage of what you pay when you patronize participating online merchants.

It is super-easy to utilize Ebates.com. All you do is load the site, do a search for you desired shopping site (oldnavy.com, sephora.com, etc), and then click the link which takes you through to where you want to shop. Not every site participates at Ebates, for example Yankeecandle.com is not included. I'd say that about 75% of them that I search for and shop at are participants which is very cool. Each site chooses its own specific percentage of cash back--some give you 1% while others offer up to 15%. In my book, ANY percentage back is basically "found money".

As long as you shop through the link that ...
...

BigBoyShopper says "Your silly if you shop online and don't use eBates.com" about ebates.com

I have to say, I've used eBates for a long-time and have now earned over $1,000 in cash back that they have paid me. And that's just buying stuff from stores (that I was going to shop at anyway) and earning usually around 4%-5% back. They are legit, ask people who have used them for a while, and I bet you get the same answer, "I don't know how they can do it, but I will never shop without going to eBates first -- it's like free money." I've had 1 or 2 times out of about 100 shopping orders where the store messed up and didn't credit my cash back. But the eBates people fixed them. I give this site big thumbs up and recommend it to friends and family constantly. Besides all the major clothes stores, and department stores, you should also use it when you travel on hotels an car rental, you usually only get 1% -3% back on those but it adds up. I saw this review before mine, and just had to answer.
...

I have been using ebates for over a year now and totaling over $200 in cash back. The website really works great: you click on a merchant's website, make a purchase and get cash back. Cash back is credited a few days after a purchase is made. On the few occasions that my cash back has not been credited, all I had to do was send an e-mail to customer services and wait for their feedback, which would come in a few days. My cash back has always been credited after such e-mails. I found that some vendors are way better are crediting cash back than others. Target and Walmart are among the best to shop at! I just love ebates.
...

I have used ebates for a number of years and yet I am constantly following up on rebates that never get posted . Many of my rebates have not been posted and it is a real hassle to resolve. These past few month after spending some time tracking, I have not been given credit for 7 transaction. Not getting credit for transactions is common and often I don't even bother to follow up because it is time consuming and a hastle. It should happen automatically and not be such a hassle to follow-up. The process they provide for resolving credits is not straightforward. I am through with ebates. It is not worth it.
...

Niles508 says "A scam! Cashback not credited, won't investigate after 90 days." about ebates.com

Having been a user of Fatwallet.com (which I think is fantastic), I gave ebates a try on two separate purchases from "Collections, etc." I noticed that I never got cashback credit for my transactions. I submitted complaints to ebates, and got response that "a real customer service rep" would respond shortly. After a week and a half, I inquired again, and got a response saying that ebates cannot look into transactions that are more than 90 days old. So, (1) the "real customer service rep" never responded without my having followed up, and (2) ebates won't investigate the cashback transactions that I'm entitled to.

I will never use ebates again, for sure. In contrast, Fatwallet responds IMMEDIATELY to your online inquiries. It's almost scary-- like somebody is sitting there waiting for your complaint! I've had several cases at Fatwallet where my cashback was not credited --and I requested an inquiry. Always, Fatwallet responded immediately, investigated, resolved the issue (in my favor)...
...

Saxguy says "Can be very useful for additional discounts" about ebates.com

I've used Ebates.com for some time as a way of wringing additional discounts out of some online purchases.

The way the site works is that you go to the Ebates web site, click upon the vendor name that you want to use and then Ebates opens up and reports a traffic ticket number and then links yopu through to the site you want to purchse from. Buyer makes the purchase and then the money gets credited to your account. The money is paid out quarterly and you can choose check or paypal. I am now using Paypal.

If I want to buy someh=thing from an online vendor other than Ebay, I go around and find the best prices for the item and then check if the vendor is listed on Ebates. Several vendors I use regualrly are, including

Ebay 2%

Buy.com 1%

Active Musician 2.5%

Barnes and Noble (usually 4%, temporarily at 8%)

Half.com 4%

Musician's Friend 3%

Petco 6%

and many others.

Most recently, I have been using Ebates.com for buy-it-now items on Ebay, earning 2%. The one drawback with Ebay is that you...
...

I have been an ebates user for about a year now. At first I didn't pay much attention to the site after becoming a member, but once I realized how much I shop online, I started to use it more and more.

Ebates allows you to earn cash back on your online purchases. You first have to log in to your account. Then you find the retailer you want to shop at. It will take you directly to that Web site and will track your purchases. Cash back will credit to your count within 30 days. Most sites are pretty good about processing the cash back quickly. There have been times where it didn't and I had to email customer service about it.

They usually credit the amount quickly, but a few times they did not and it was because they said the purchase did not qualify. For example, for Sears, you can't get cash back on purchases where you do an instore pickup. I didn't know that ahead of time and was disappointed that I did not get my cash back for purchasing an expensive dishwasher. I would have gone through...
...

Ebates.com - Where you save with a click!

Ebates is a website that pays you to shop on their page. I use ebates every-time I shop on-line. It's as simple as this: You log onto www.ebates.com then click the store you normally shop, shop, buy and then ebates refunds you a percentage back of your purchase. They run specials on stores that they double-cash back and on Cyber Monday you are in for a treat as they run really awesome cash back incentives on this day. When you refer a friend and they purchase something, you both get $5 bucks and sometimes they double the referrals and you can earn $10 back. This site is a hidden treasure. During the Christmas season I earned $86 bucks back from ebates. Checks are issued quarterly and you must purchase a minimum equalling $5 cash back before you will receive a check. I also made $60 cash back on friend referrals. There are only a few stores that do not participate in this program and Walmart and Amazon are two I can think of...
...

I've belonged to Ebates for two years and have noticed that you MUST keep a close eye on posting of rebates. There have been at least 10 occasions where a promised rebate hasn't posted. The site SAYS rebates customarily post within 3 days of placing an order, but in many cases that just isn't so. The first time I contacted Ebates about a rebate, it was several weeks after I received the order; I was told some merchants wait until a "return period" has expired. O.K., but what's the excuse for travel completed a month ago? Resolving your issues is never easy, either. After you contact Customer Care, you receive a form letter apologizing that your rebate hasn't posted and asking you to send the order confirmation sheet from the vendor. Luckily I save such things, but what if you didn't? And where is THEIR own documentation/paperwork?! Most recently, I e-mailed their customer care department about a missing rebate and it took them 3 weeks to even acknowledge my communication. I've...
...
