I am a member of cafe-mom before, and this sites is very helpful, you can find friends too, and sharing what you believe, just like the viewpoints, but as of now I am no longer member of that sites, I decide to leave the sites, b/c I have no time to check it, but I highly recommends that sites too......

Cafe mom is an ok site. You can meet new people and chat and they added a whole bunch of cool features. You can join various groups that fit your need or hold some value to what you believe and family life.

Cafemom is like a community of everyone gathering together to either provide something productive or to make trouble. You have a few people who are not there for good intensions and you can formulate your own group. The group is free to join.

If you are the type of person that likes socializing then the con's for you would be that a lot of your chores will never get done and you tend to get addicted to the site.

You will encounter a lot of serious issues because people tend to let themselves go and it can be very challenging at times to determine which participants are con artist and which participants are really in need.

The site will either make you or break you. I think it is really up to the individual. I know when you join you will get various invitations to come and join groups...

The site Cafemom is one of the best online hangouts that I have found. The people are basicly vrey friendly and the atmosphere is great. There are more subjects for groups than you could imagine and you can join as many as you like. There are groups for everything from debates(religious to sports), to advice, to food(recipies to shopping), to organization(cleaning to actual orgainizations). There are so many things to do, groups to join, and people to talk to that if you get bored then you must be trying! I have been a member for a few years and find that I like it better than myspace and facebook combined as a place to hang out and talk with friends. It is for women only and there are even groups for all types of women (from mothers of over ten children to women in an infertility battle) , not just mothers. It is a great place to let everyone know your views and just get your opinions out there. I would recommend it to EVERYONE!

THIS IS MY HUMBLE OPINION:

NOT a place for real moms, in the real world, looking for real advice and solutions. I am KICKING myself for spending 2 weeks as a member.

A real example of what happened to me: I stated that skin is an organ. It is a fact that skin is the human body's largest organ. Not only did people LOL at me and suggest I was stupid, one 'member' in particular DEBATED with me that skin is NOT an organ AND repeatedly RIDICULED me, in reference to skin being an organ. It's one thing to not know skin is an organ, it is quite another to DEBATE it!

After reading repeated posts from 'women' (and I write 'women' because who really knows who these people are) asking 'What can I do, What can I do', my husband has been accused of RAPE! or my husband just CHOKED me! or My baby just spilled 10 oz of formula and I have NO MONEY to buy anymore until my WIC comes in next week. I HAD ENOUGH!!!

I wasn't seeking out these posts, these are posts in the public groups...

Coffee anybody? Take a moment from your busy life and chat with some other momma's. I am a cafemom person and participated in a few of their fun games. Search other people's profiles to get new friends or to play games like finding different states. You could say it is a little like Myspace or Facebook but more oriented to mommy's. You can put pictures of your children on your profile and a pretty layout. There aren't as many choices for personalizing than other sites and its more friendly in the aspects that there aren't violent games. I am still learning about this site. You can join into blogs about being a new comer or Mother's Day basket or other fun things like games and contests.

Whether you are a mother of infants or teenagers you could have a lot of fun on this site. Want to be a social animal and get some new friends come check it out. If you want a group to join like for autism, infants, toddlers,scrapbooking, adhd and other specific topics that may fit your family come join...

I got first introduced to the CafeMom website through a banner, that was flashing up on MySpace again and again and again . . . and you know how it goes, if you see such an ad once too often your curiosity gets the better of you . . .

It is a lil confusing to get started for sure, due to the sheer volume of groups and the endless possibilities of playing with widgets . . . getting to know new people, posting and sharing photos.

The first thing you get to do is setting up your own homepage and profile, both of them are fully customizable and do not necessarily have to look the same . . . it depends on which widgets you add and if you want them on both pages or only on either the home~ or profile page . . . you get to choose your privacy settings too, as to who can see what . . . which probably needs a little bit of tweaking to get it just right, the way you want it to be seen . . .

Then of course you can get lost in 1 of the many many groups and forums to just about any topic 1 can imagine...

I'm a mom of four children and being a mom you know if your stuck home all day long with nothing but conversations with a one year old and a 3 yr old you can use some adult interaction. I get mine at Cafe Mom. Joining Cafe mom has been a great experience. Not only can you make friends with local mom's but you can make friends with mom's who live clear across the country.

There are great boards for breastfeeding help, selling your baby clothes with no fee's, a rating systems so you know who has had a good experience and who hasn't, there are review groups, work at home groups, blogging groups, ehow groups, groups for sharing Green tips, saving money at Target, CVS, Shutterfly. Those are all my favorites. Can you tell? Hmm, I wonder if there is a Viewpoints group I should check. You can put together a profile page, add some fun widgets and protect your page if you don't wish strangers too look at it.
Becoming a member of Cafe Mom you'll be a member of a great community of mom's who share...

Cafemom is a great website to go to if you are a Mom, a Grandma or even expecting! Step-Moms, Moms of adopted children, Foster Mothers, if you are raising a child, we welcome you! You get to have your own profile page, like most social networks, that you can decorate in your favorite colors, or design, and add in "widgets" to show off your interests. You can add a music player, or a slideshow of photos. There are even games that you can play and add to your profile. There are also many groups that you can join. A teen mom? There are groups for you. Star Wars fan? There is a group for you. Want to join a drama group and just let loose? There are plenty of groups for that! Even if you want to just find other Moms in your area that maybe you can meet up with for a playdate, or to make friends, you can either join a local group, or even search through the listed moms and find them. This is a great website to meet other moms, just like you! There are hundreds of "forums" that you can join to discuss just about anything about being a mom, woman, wife, friend, etc. I have met wonderful ladies that share all my common interest. You have your own webpage (kinda like myspace) that you can make your own, it is fun! I have seen forums about sex, money, NASCAR, Twilight, and various tv shows!! Check it out....everyone is super nice!...

i found cafemom just after having my child (who will be 4 on dec 16) the site has been a big help... it has groups for everything... so every mom should find something they like there. i like it cause you can get help and tips from others moms on cooking cleanin and taking care of your child. so if youre a mom go to cafemom.com!!...

I LOVE Cafemom! Not only is it a great place to find and meet other moms, but I have gained many internet friends there! It is fun to give and get advice, participate in polls and picture show downs, and more. There is a group of moms for everything on there, diapers, formula, coupons, single moms, young moms, old moms! It sure is a place for everyone!...

If you're already a mom, a mom to be or even trying to concieve, you MUST join Cafemom! This is such a fun site. You can connect with other moms on a daily basis, and find and make new friends right in your area. You can join friendly groups or start one of your own. Customizable profile pages to show all the other moms what you're all about. Join in on the photo showdowns, and cafemom activities, such as surveys, polls and the question/answer area. My only warning about this site is that it's very addicting!! You'll have to log on at least once a day ( I log on several times a day LOL). So, come join us :)...

If you are a soccer mom, softball mom, stay-at-home mom, full-time working mom, stepmom, or pretty much any type of mom then Cafemom is for you. Cafemom.com allows you to build your profile by adding information about yourself and your kids, add pictures of you and your family, and add other moms with similar interest to your friends section. You can even have your own journal to write down your rants and raves and add backgrounds to your page to make it your own.

Cafemom also has a ton of groups you can join. Simply search for what you like to do, your kids like to do, your work position (at-home, away from home, est.), pretty much anything and there will probably be a group you can join. There are groups for recipe swaps, crafter's to sell their products, different cultures, different age groups of your kids, all kinds of sports and all kinds of hobbies - there are literally thousands of groups you can join.

Cafemom is a great place to connect with other moms who are or have gone...
