My daughter bought a baby bearded dragon with her own money. He was expensive. We had him for a little less than a year and he got sick. We took him to the vet and he said he needed vitamins. He died anyway. Then a friend gave us an adult bearded dragon. She is great. She is a lot of work though. She needs crickets (about 15) every other day. The need to be dusted with powder if they are from the pet store because commercially raised crickets do no have enough vitamins. She needs meal worms every other day. She needs fresh greens everyday and fresh water. She should be warm, between 90 to 100. She also needs sunlight or a substitute to help digest her food. Her poop needs to be cleaned out of her cage immediately. If it is not the crickets may eat it and if she eats the crickets after she will become very sick. All crickets that have not been eaten should be removed. Lots of work but the dragon is the coolest best lizard to have as a pet. It is best to...
...

OK I have always been an animal love but up until a few years ago I have only owned fury or feathers friends. This all changed once I started a vet tech program and worked with their reptiles. They had a Beared Dragon who was as sweet as could be. I fell in love and started to research Dragon. I soon found out what great animals Beardies were. My hubby & I started looking into getting one. I found an adorable little guy and with a little begging he came home with me. In April I will have had Gibby for 3 years and I have loved everY minute of it. Beardies are such easy going reptiles. They are great fo adults and chilfren alike. I have three kids and they all love Gubby. Now if only I could talk hubby into getting me a girl ;)
...

Bearded dragons are an easy pet to care for. They are not meant for small children. Bearded dragons love to have attention. They love to be held. Yes, they can be a lap pet. You can even walk them on a leash.
...

I got my beardie as a sympathy gift when he was a baby, and he's been the greatest pet. He's calm, and funny, and a great source of conversation for my house guests. I even took him on an HIV/Aids Pet Walk where we won first prize for most unusual pet. He waves and does "push ups" and eats worms and grapes right from my hand. He is very low maintenance, but needs a big habitat to roam around. He scared me the first few winters by going into brumation which is the reptile version of hibernation, but we expect it now and just let him snooze. The added benefit is that my daughter is learning a lot from having a reptile in the house.
...

Bearded dragons are really the best reptile to own in my opinoin. They are pretty easy to take care of in comparison to other reptiles. They are unique and not as high maintenance as other herps. If there are any new beardie owners, I highly suggest looking up care sheets and browsing around because all information is different and some I think is wrong. ALSO, your second best bet to take care of one properly is go to forums. There are a lot of forums for bearded dragons. Think of it as a help line....

I have owned two bearded dragons for several years now. They are the sweetest lizards. I can put my finger in front of there face and they will never bite. My adults have never shown any aggressiveness. My five year old loves to hold them and they do not mind. I can put them on my shoulder and walk around with them and they just hold on. I can put them on my computer desk while I work and they stay there. They do like the heat so you want to make sure its fairly warm where ever you put them down. My male has been known to escape but he's lazy and never travels far. He'll just find a nice corner near his tank and goes back to sleep. When they want attention or are hungry they do jump around the cage and scratch at it. They love to eat crickets or the store bought moist dragon bites. Baby bearded dragons are a little more aggresive but with proper handling they can grow up to be very gentle and loving animals. They are also really easy to maintain....

Bearded Dragons are not like most reptiles you can buy at a pet store. They enjoy being handled, they eat veggies along with crickets, you do not have to feed them mice for them to get proper nutrition. I have had 6 bearded dragons, and each one was sweet as could be. Strangers could come in a pick them right up. A great pet for a house with kids....

I own a bearded dragon, and have for a while. They are neat lizards. They are the type of lizard you can hold, hand feed, and they don't take much to take care of them. I would recommend them for anyone. The are friendly, and as with any animal, they have their own personallity. They might scratch you from time to time, but other than that you don't have to worry about them biting you. They only bad ting about them is their feces stink. You will know when they go because it will stink up the whole room in a matter of seconds....
