The Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit is a great alternative for those of us who do not want to buy another electronic piece of equipment that you either have to keep up on you counter top, or stored inside of a cabinet somewhere. For less than $3 you get a hand held pump and a few bags to decide whether or not you like the product. Refill bags also cost less than $3. This product is so small, less than 10 inches long, you can stick it in a drawer and not worry about whether it is taking up too much space. I keep mine in the same drawer as my cooking utensils, and usually forget where I have put it, because it is that small.

The Ziploc Vacuum refill bags come in two different sizes which can store a variety of different sized foods. The instructions on how to use this product are straight forward and quite easy for anyone to understand. For the most part the seal on these bags hold really well, but every so often you will come across that one bag that, for whatever reason, just will not hold...
...

I paid nearly $5 for a Ziplock starter vacuum kit, and it is a piece of junk. The flimsy vacuum "pump" fell apart upon opening the box for starters. Totally not worth the money. I threw the pump out after one use because it was impossible to reassemble.
...

The Ziplock Vacuum is fantastic! The 'other' brand is more expensive and very difficult to work.

This vacuum REALLY does suck out all the air and its very easy, AND youdon't have to buy batteries.

This item has already paid for itself with the food I have saved in the 1.5 months I've owned it!
...

Dahlietta says "Goodbye Bulky Vaccuum Kits!" about Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit

With everything on the market these days, its hard to make the time to even use them after you buy them! However, my philosophy is: If you don't really have the space or a lot of time to mess with a piece of equipment, buy something that is just as equally handy and stores in a drawer instead of your counter or cupboard, and sell the big bulky item that is just in the way -- instant space saver! I love this product because the only thing you have to keep buying is the bags after the starter kit, which is still cheaper than buying a foodsaver, etc. costing over a hundred dollars and taking up extra space -- you have to buy more bags for the foodsaver as you go along anyway, so there is just the big deal of saving both time and Green! It is so simple to use and you can't beat the price, and it works just as effectively as those commercial vaccuum sealers. I recommend this product to anyone looking to save time, space and money.
...

I was at the grocery store and saw this item on sale. I just purchased a chest freezer 2 weeks ago and have been looking to try something like this to deep freeze bargains I find. Well I decided to give this a try and purchased the 1 gallon sized freezer bags to go with it, since they were also on sale and I had a coupon. I used it today for the first time to package up some boneless chicken I bought and wanted to freeze. The instructions were pretty simple: Lay the bag flat after filling, squeeze the excess air out, and slide your fingers across the zipper at the top to seal it up. Next you put the pump over the little valve that is on each bag, and push up and down a number of time to suck the excess air out the the freezer bag. It took a minute to get the hang of it, but once I did it was pretty easy and worked better than I expected. For $ 3.79 I would recommend it. There are no batteries to worrry about replacing as is true with some other similar gadgets. When you are finished...
...

I have seen commercials and coupons for the Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit, but as my parents have an electric sealer I thought there was no way this could compare, and never made the purchase. Recently, thanks to Home Made Simple, I was one of the lucky people to get one of the Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit as a free sample, with extra coupons for other cleaning supplies and bags.

The Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit is priced at $3.99 and includes three bags and one vacuum pump. Additional bags in a variety of sizes and for a variety of prices are available.

You start with the typical Ziploc brand double zipper. After placing your food into the bag, you are instructed to close the double zipper starting at one end and ending at the other. You then place the bag on the counter and use the pump to remove all the air from the bag. This is done by placing the pump over a circle on that bag. A few quick, smooth easy pumps and your work is done, a night tight seal around your food and it is ready for the...
...

I bought a Ziplock Vacuum Starter Kit and I love it. I bought a large package of hotlinks and used some of them. I opened my starter kit, put some links in the bag and used the vacuum. It was so easy and it sucked the air right out of the bag, making the links look store bought. I am now thinking of ways to use it. I know my butter sometimes gets a refrigerator smell and I throw it out. This vacuum is so easy, that I can used it each time I use the butter to reseal it. There are no tubes or batteries, all you do is put the food in the bag, lay it flat and put the pump on the spot shown on the bag, and pump. You don't need to be a genius to use it.

I love this thing.......

...

I thought I would try the Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit, because the cost was just $3.99. I got it home and it is a very simple device that needs no batteries, you just place the vacuum over the hole and manually remove all of the air with a pump that resembles a bicycle pump. It is so simple and I have had food in the freezer for 6 weeks and it is still the same as the day I put it in there. This is definitely worth its weight in gold. Also the refill bags are not very expensive and they are heavy enough that they can be used over....

I have always wanted a electric sealer but I have always heard that they were so bulky. So I nevr got one. I bought this because it was so cheap. Thinking it was not going to work, but I would only throw away 4.00, WOW I was shocked. Taking it out of the package, I thought "oh yeah, I am taking this back!" Then I used it, Great Great Invention. Must buy! The bags that you need are cheaper than the other brand. Also NO batteries! I love it....

I purchased the Ziploc Vacuum Starter Kit out of curiosity and the fact that the grocery store display had a $2 off coupon to try it. At a store price of $3.99 it meant I was only paying $1.99 for the starter kit. That was a great price to see if I liked it or not. [ I am told they are even cheaper in other parts of the country.]

Compare to Electric Models:
I have an electric sealer but I rarely use it because it is big and bulky and a pain to get out each time I want to seal something. The bags are expensive and so I have ended up using it as a storage product when I want to seal in bulk. The Ziploc system is simple and only needs the bags and hand pump. It stores easily in the drawer to be at your fingertips to use in a moment's notice.

The Ziploc Vacuum protects food against freezer burn:
Because you are sucking the air out creating a vacuum seal around the food it stays fresh longer and retains its color and texture.

The Ziploc Vacuum Does Not Require Batteries or Electricy to......
