lorihall2861 says "Yes Man, love all things Jim Carrey!" about Yes Man

I do love all things Jim Carrey, really liked this movie, but felt it was not his best work!

Actually learned alot from this movie about being fuddy! You have to step out and do things you may not normally do and life can get exciting. All things with moderation, I am not going to go throw a rock through a bank window!

Got really into the plot of the movie and how things transpired! Felt "Yes Man" was a good watch and would definitely buy it to add to my Jim Carrey collection!
...

mawfia says "Pleasantly surprised." about Yes Man

I was pleasantly surprised by Yes Man. I was not looking forward to seeing the movie at all!

I feel like Jim Carey was highly over done, and over rated in the 90's and wasn't looking forward to seeing a movie that he was in.

I was pleasantly surpries. He was funny, without being over the top ridiculous, and I was somehow reminded of Stranger then Fiction.

the movie moved nicely through the plot, and Zooey Deschenal was great in the movie too.

I would recommend seeing this movie.
...

Clobberella says "Jim Carrey is back and funny as ever!" about Yes Man

Jim Carrey is funny and refreshing in his new flick, Yes Man. Jim Carrey hasn't done a flick such as this in quite some time. He's was excellent with his antics, funny faces, and all around aura of humor. As much as I enjoyed seeing Jim in a film of this nature again, his costar, Zooey Deschanel was simply stunning. She played her part well as the quirky girlfriend. There were some great one liner's throughout the film as well.

The only piece of Yes Man I didn't enjoy is that the Yes Man group had a cult mentality. I'm unsure if the producers intended for it to be that way. However, if they did Carrey's character does not fit in with the rest of the "Yes" conference goers. They all seemed to blindly lead the leader where as Carrey's character doesn't completely fit into that category of wacky cult follower. It made for a very strange aura for the movie in that aspect.

Go see it or rent it, you won't be disappointed!
...

Darkkenpachi says "Yes Man is a great movie to watch during a cold day" about Yes Man

Yes Man is a great movie to watch during one of thsoe cold days we are experiencing right now. If you bored at home pack up and go to the movies during the afternoon and check this out.

The supporting cast fits right in with the movie. Everyoen serves their purpose and advance the plot to its intended direction. Great thing about the movie is that it gives you a sense that you can achieve more in life by simply steeping outside of your own comfort zone and trying new things.

The movie is very casual and it doesn't take itself seriously. Funny and charming. nothign spectacular but it is worth the price of admission. In closing I would recommend this movie to anyone who needs a quick laugh and simpyl wants to feel better about themself.

...

renfield1969 says "It's okay to say Yes Man is okay" about Yes Man

Comic actors are at their best when they get to intersperse their vulnerability and humanity with their humor, and in that respect Jim Carrey is truly at the top of his game in Yes Man. Carrey stars as a man who has closed himself off from life, and at the urging of a friend he attends a self-help seminar run by the always charismatic Terrence Stamp. The premise of the movie - the philosophy he adopts - is for him to say yes to any request made of him in order to turn his life around. He tries it, he likes it, he throws himself into it with gusto, hijinks ensue.

If the movie has a problem - and it detracted from my enjoyment - it's that the reason people do say no is that actions have consequences. Most people get hangovers, bleed, go broke, and/or get fired for doing half the stuff he does. The movie does redeem itself in that there is rarely any element brought up that is not revisited for comedic effect, but when the level of humor continuously moves from the sublime to the ridiculous,...
...
