.

It's one of those rare games, that has all of what you love about a great game, with none of what annoys you. I realized, after about 10 hours of play, that absolutley nothing was ticking me off. If there was ever a game that got everything right, it's Bioshock.

Normally, you hear much about a shooter having an "absorbing story", and you're just like: "yeah, yeah, just shut up and let me shoot you". But Bioshock, actually does. The bleak, dystopian world scenario is hardly new in gaming, but Bioshock puts a great twist on things; and the art-deco 1940's sci-fi world is very refreshing and incredibly rendered. If you are as sick as I am of endless hallways filled with crates, you are in for a helluva treat. Not only does this game look amazing, but the design is so good, and so original, that it really does "absorb" you.

The biggest suprise to me, was level of literacy, and period detail. This game wasn't really designed for modern kids, and certainly wasn't designed by one. The villian,...
...

There's no question that Bioshock is a very good game that would be enjoyed by RPGers and FPSers alike. The graphics and setting are simply amazing and completely immersive but the story is not very engaging and by the end, the action begins to feel a bit like more of the same.

Since the developers themselves hold up Bioshock as the spiritual successor to System Shock 2 one cannot help but take them up on the comparison and there are a lot of similarities between the two. In short, while Bioshock clearly excels visually, SS2 is a better game.

The game starts off with you out in the middle of the ocean next to a crashed airplane. You swim to a nearby rocky outcropping and descend into an underwater city. You are almost immediately contacted via the radio by someone else in the city who wants to help you
The first thing that will strike you is that there is water everywhere. It's clear the developers nailed the visual effects here and just wanted to show it off. There are puddles and pools...
...

I loved this game!!! It was amazing and so much fun and challenging. My kind of game. It has an interesting plot and a foggy outcome which keeps things exciting and mysterious!! I love games that allow you to build and choose skills, and this is one of them! It has many fun weapons to use and is nonstop action! there are many interesting twists to it too. I would have originaly given it five stars and it deserves five stars. However I played it and played it and had to put the game on hold for a while because I moved and a my son. These two huge events made me have to put the game on hold. I was dieing to play and finaly was able to, then came the disappointment, upon playing the game for twenty minutes it was over!! Maybe it was because I had waited so long to play or something but it was upsetting. I believe the game had so much more potential so hopefully they were setting it up for a sequel game or an expansion pack, because like I said it is a wonderful game but leaves me wanting more!!...
...

This is a completely and utterly awesome great game. It has some of the most unique weapons for a first person shooter that I've ever played. I am so excited about Bioshock 2. This game is really great at telling a story while never leaving the first person point of view. You don't need to. The plasmids are really fun weapons and you can do all kinds of cool things. The big daddies are really creepy the first time you see them and the little sisters give you a choice between 2 ways to play the game. You can choose to harvest them or you can choose to save them. I hear the better ending is to save them. That's the way I played.
...

Bioshock is the first game that I completed when I got my XBOX 360. I had seen my boyfriend playing it on the computer and it looked like a lot of fun; plus I had other friends recommend it, so I knew I wanted to check it out. This game is so much fun, the graphics are incredible, everything is so detailed and looks real. Rapture (the city you're in) really comes to life, I got so involved! It's so much fun, I had trouble putting the controller down. I'm not very good at video games, although I love them, and I was able to play this game on my own without a strategy guide even. You can pick what setting to play on, so anyone can play. It is a little scary, there were times when I had to turn it off because it was night and I was alone so I got too creeped out. The only other bad thing is that it's a one-player game, no online or coop options. These are not reasons not to play it though, it's absolutely worth it. It's also one of those games that lets you make some choices...
...

Rapture is a city underwater to which you travel in Bioshock via the Xbox 360. Not only are you immersed under the Pacific when you enter the first air tube, you will be immersed in one of the best games ever made. The sound, graphics and mood are intertwined with such a pefect intesity here that you may never put the controller down.

I cannot recommend this enough. You have the best first-person shooter here mixed with a made-for-Hollywood story. Throw in a nagging fear that will keep you running to find out the truth before it is too late.
...

Bioshock succeeds in making this game worth your money with a great story, great graphics, and some replay value depending on what type of gamer you are. And believe me, this story is not short. For the PS3 owners who have never played this game before should definitely check this game out and the PS3 version includes extra content the Xbox 360 version does not have and it will include support for PS3 trophies. Excellent game....

Bioshock is one of the greatest games ever made, it incorporates 1st person shooter aspects while still having some rpg aspects. The graphics were terrific and made some parts scary. There isnt multiplayer but the single player story mode alone will make you want to play the game over and over again....

Bioshock for the Xbox 360 was amazing! It definitely lived up to all the hype. Not only were the graphics incredible, the story line was very captivating. There is a wide plethora of weapons and "powers" available to the player, as well as shockingly real environments that are a great mix of science fiction and fantasy. Semi-spoiler alert! The only downside I really saw with Bioshock was a very anticlimatic last boss fight. For being the ultimate enemy, Atlas went down way too easy. Despite that, I still give the game a perfect score!...

what can i say about bio shock? i thought that it was an awesome game. some of the levels were pretty difficult but i was able to make my way through the entire game at a realivitly fast pace. i still dont quite understand where they came up with the concept from. The big daddys to me were quite weird i didnt quite understand what the real purpose of them were. Why couldnt you just find the little sisters and be done with it. BUt for the most part i enjoyed the game and have played it several times at home during my spare time. I will continue to keep the game and play it again. I heard that they were coming out with a movie about the game. I wonder how they are going to portray the movie. One thing that i would like to see if they come out with a bioshock 2 is better detail on the graphics. THey looked very animated to me and kinda looked like a cute cartoon. Better graphics would definatly be an upgrade for bioshock 2. if they is going to be a bioshock 2....
