I was an avid user of Woot. I would follow daily and purchase thing I needed for a good price. However, when I purchased an 80 gb Zune, it was a big deal for me. I am a music fan, but refuse to fall into the IPod trap. Of course, it broke after the 90 day warranty. Woot's response was dismissive and unhelpful. $150 down the drain. There is at least one benefit to going to a brick and mortar store...customer service. Don't say you weren't warned.

a100indecisions says "One Day, One Deal, One Empty Pocketbook" about Woot.com

Woot.com has got to be my husband's favorite web site - and it has more power to send us to the poorhouse than any of our creditors. Why? Because for 24 hours, woot.com offers one product at an amazingly low price. Except on Tuesdays, when you get two for the price of one. And during Woot-Offs, where the one product sells until it sells out - and then is replaced by another outrageous deal. (Woot-offs don't happen very often - but when they do, you have to be quick.)

Beacuse of woot, we are now the proud owners of a Harmony 880 remote, four GO-Dusters, a wireless bluetooth headset ... the list goes on and on.

Don't get too excited though - sometimes the woots (and products in the woot-off) are awful. The "random bag of crap" can be just that - or can be an Xbox 360 - you really are pressing your luck when you bid for it. But even if you don't want the product, you can rest assured that the description will be hilarious. And somewhat factual.
...

Woot.com is a unique website. It comes with its own quirky sense of humor, oddball perspectives and good deals. I LOVE this site!

Woot is for the simplest of simple minded people. Woot sells ONE item per day. That's it. The item is listed at 12 midnight [central time] and if it sells out by 10am there is nothing to buy until midnight when a new item is posted. If it doesn't sell out a new item is still posted at midnight and the leftovers are not for sale. UNLESS you see flashing orange lights; if you do- do not become alarmed. The site has gone into Woot-off mode. When this happens a new item will be launched immediately after the previous item has sold out. Confusing? Nah. Fun.

To keep things interesting Woot sometimes sells a "Bag 'O Crap". It's a kind of online grab bag. You may get anything from a Wii to a few cables. Black Friday had $1 Bags 'O Crap. Woot! Woot!

Don't expect normalcy on this site however. For instance, a Frequently asked question and the......

Items change daily and primarily sell electronics, including toys. Limited merchandize changes daily at midnight, Central Time, unless all quantities have been purchased. You'll need to have patience because for most, the items that come up are not for everyone but you can get some good deals.

The merchandize being sold can be refurbished, new, or discontinued items. The description especially states if it is new or refurbished. If you're purchasing refurbished electronics, you need to really know what you're buying and what refurb means for that item. Reading the descriptions of each item can be a hoot-very creative writing/marketing that sometimes leaves you scratching your head and wondering how the story ties into the product!

There are some fun days, such as Tuesdays. If you're interested in purchasing the item, they are sold in pairs for the price listed. They also have what's called a "Woot-Off" where inventory rotates very quickly, depending on interest and quantities in stock....
...

I have tried to share my love for woot with everyone that I meet. Woot's angle is selling a ton of one thing and selling only that thing for 24 hours. This allows them to sell at thin margins to make their profit. We gotten vaccums at $200 off, nice mp3 players for $15 and Christmas presents for well over 50% off. If you want what they're selling, don't even bother looking for a better deal, because you won't find it. And a little hint, if you see a "Bag Of Crap" being sold for $5, buy it! People have gotten big screen TVs in their "bags of crap". ...

I heard about woot from co-workers at work and when i bookmarked it i was hooked. I checked it everyday, read the quirky descriptions, and i even got on their podcast once. Woot was great for about the first year, i had bought about 5 things with no big deal....But recently woots 5 dollar shipping is not shipping with fed ex smartpost! WHAT A HASSLE!!! not only me but others on the woot forums were complaining about not receiving our product and getting absolutely no response from woot.com....i emailed them from different addresses at their different email addresses they did not respond at all, 1 week went by then two...I got an email saying they would resend them using fed ex which also failed...Every time i emailed them there would be a two to four week lag in response time to answer SIMPLE QUESTIONS. I cannot state how disappointed i was and how angered i was i didnt get any response. They're good when they're good, but when they screw up they DO NOT RESPOND TO ANYONE. There were at......

I love this site! The reason I love it is because it is different. One Day, One Item, and it's usually something affordable. You won't be tempted to buy several items and you won't spend up all your money because this is cute or this is cute.

They have $5 flat rate shipping, which is alawys a joy.

The bad thing is that if once it's gone, it's gone. You don't have a huge selection.

The website is really interactive
...

I LOVE WOOT!!! We stay up every night to wait to see what the next woot is. They have what they call a bag of crap with misc. items in it and if your lucky enough to get one you can get cool things (some people have received wii's etc...). Thank you to a local news channel who did a short segment on one a day websites and we discovered woot about a year ago and have became addicts! Now there is shirt.woot, wine.woot and sellout.woot.....what woot will be next? We LOVE them all! Thank you woot creaters for such a clever idea and bringing us great deals. They also have woot-offs where there is a new item as soon as one item sells out. You typically can't sleep until those are over because you don't want to miss the bag of crap (typically the last item as the servers crash!). WOOT ROCKS!...

aquanetta says "bargains with amusing write-ups" about Woot.com

The idea of Woot is that it offers only one product a day, it's usually an electronic gadget, at a great price. You don't know how much is left, and once it's gone, it's gone.

I've only used Woot once (to buy a set of earbuds), but I find myself going to Woot everyday to check out the deals and the descriptions. The deals are usually great bargains but will not appeal to everyone. But the descriptions are so irreverent and hilarious, you find yourself wanting to buy the product even if you don't need it.

Every once in a while, they'll have a day for "Woot Offs", that's when they clear their inventory and they'll go through several products in a day, sometimes it's a mystery what you're actually buying, maybe a bandolier of carrots.

I recommend Woot.com as a daily read, if you find normal product descriptions boring, you'll want to read Woot.com everyday for laughs and sometimes catch a great bargain.

Wine.woot and Shirt.woot are also available....

Oh, what a glorious day it was when I discovered the Woot. Now, I start each day by checking all of there sites to see what the day's possibilities might be.

Here is the thing, for the most part, woot offers one deal avery day. When it is gone, its gone, and you need to wait until 12:00 AM CST the next day for a new one. But, that is part of the fun. There is the anticipation of not knowing what is coming up next. It might be something great that you need or are looking for. It might be something stupid and useless. It might be a great deal or you might be able to find it cheaper some where else. No matter what though, you will find yourself checking every day.

The great thing too is that the product descriptions are usually humorous and entertaining. So, even if you never buy anything from them, its still worth a couple minutes each day just to read what they have to say.

The community is great as well. There is a certain camaraderie amongst the users. You will not...
...
