PattyTherre says "Windex Glass and Surface Wipes are a bust. Streaks galore!" about Windex Original Glass and Surface Wipes

Quick View: I was disappointed in these wipes. They're convenient but leave streaks everywhere. I didn't like the container they came in either. It's back to the spray for me!

About SC Johnson Windex Original Glass and Surface Wipes

These 7"x8" wipes come in either a pouch of a canister. I bought the canister which has 28 wipes in it. The canister has a threading device for the wipes to go through but is wide open, exposing the wipes to air every time one goes to take one out. The last eight wipes in my canister dried out.

The small is strongly of, well, Windex. Very strongly. The wipes are just moist but not not wet. When I used them, I tried them several times in my bathroom mirrors (The medicine cabinet one and the full length door one) and both mirrors were streaked and foggy when I finished cleaning them. I had to use a soft cloth and basically buff out the streaks.

On windows, I got the same streaky, foggy results. On other surfaces, such as the bathroom sink, the wipes worked...
...

Kpowell503 says "Couldn't be easier" about Windex Original Glass and Surface Wipes

I recently bought my first package of these handy little windex wipes. I have new french doors and they don't mix well with dog slobber. I can't tell you how great they are for a quick and easy clean up. No streaks and half the hassle of paper towels and spray. Work GREAT on the bathroom mirrors as well.

Love, Love, Love them!
...

macque says "OK, but they dry out if you don't use them up quickly enough" about Windex Original Glass and Surface Wipes

These are OK. I thought it would be good to keep a package in the car to clean the inside of the windshield and take the dog's noseprints off the back windows from time to time. Unfortunately, once you open the package, it doesn't seal well enough to keep the wipes moist for very long. You are pretty much committed to using them all up within a month....

llisa says "Left smears and fuzzies on glass." about Windex Original Glass and Surface Wipes

I bought these only because they were on sale (BOGO). I was not impressed.

It seemed like a good idea for a glass cabinet that I have. I can't spray glass cleaner directly on it for fear of damaging the finish on the wood, so these looked perfect. But, they left smears and little fuzzies on the glass. So, ended up doing what I always do, spraying a paper towel and wiping down the glass.

I like Windex in the spray bottle, but you can keep these useless things.
...

A4gotn1 says "YIPPEEE. No more toothpaste on the bathroom mirror..." about Windex Original Glass and Surface Wipes

I was so happy to see these come out! After cleaning/Disinfecting wipes.... it was the next best thing.

More on my "pros"

With a tiny bathroom and lots of cats ( that will chew anything) these are the perfect size packages to keep in cupboards. They are so convenient! Ever went to brush your teeth and noticed the schumtz left by the last toothbrusher.... well now you just grab a wipe, wipe and go! Okay so it isn't quite that easy! These do require several wipes to make sure you get all the lint and some elbow grease if you have conveniently ignored said "schumtz" a little longer than you would like to admit!

More on my "cons"

Unlike cleaning wipes that tend to sometimes be too wet, these are a little too dry. I woud like to see them put some more cleaner on them. As far as smell I put it as a con for those who are sensitive to smell or those who might think , being a wipe , they would smell more pleasant. The bottom line is they contain ammonia and they smell like ammonia. Bleach stinks,...
...

Jo says "If you don't mind the ingredients and smell, Windex works." about Windex Original Glass and Surface Wipes

To the Point

Windex Glass and Surface Wipes are a product in my arsenal to make cleaning easier.

A Closer Look

Windex wipes cost me about $4.00 for 25. This is a lot of money considering that I have Lysol and Clorox wipes in a canister for the same price but there are 35 to 40 of those.

The Windex wipes are 7 inches by 10 inches making them larger than either of the other products.

We are told that I’ll get a streak-free shine wherever I use them in my house. We are told that they are convenient and pre-moistened.

Unlike the other two brands these do not disinfect. They are intended for appliances, sink, mires, the bathroom, phones, computer keyboards and automobiles. However I use them almost primarily for my bathroom mirrors and while I’m at that I’ll go around the house and wipe down other glass items.

There are warnings to this product. They aren’t to be used as a baby wipe or in direct sunlight because that could cause streaking. They aren't for wood, upholstery or plates....
...
