I upgraded to this side by side refrigerator when I built my house this past year. Overall, it has been a great appliance. It runs quietly and the ice maker is not too loud - just a little clang every once in awhile. Plenty of ice, too! The water filter system works well and it tastes great. However, you will need to change the filter about every six months, and the filter is about forty dollars at lowes. My only complaint with it is that the shelf heights are a little small and this limits the amount of storage that you have for tall items such as 2 liter bottles of soda, wine bottles, milk jugs, and orange juice containers. There are 2 shelves on the door that can hold 1 gallon of OJ, 1 gallon of tea, 1/2 gallon of milk, and 1 2 liter bottle of soda. There is only 1 shelf within the inside of the frige that can hold any of these things or wine bottles. This is normally not a problem, until you are preparing for a party or big dinner. Same goes for the freezer...

well what can i say the only bad thing i will say is when the water for the ice maker comes on to refill trays it makes a bad noise other wise its a great fridge

The ice maker is a poor producer of ice. It does not produce enough ice for even a two person household. The icemaker output flap and hinge are made out of plastic with a steel hinge pin. The hinge broke after 14 months and the only way to repair it was to replace the entire freezer door which cost $550. Whirlpool did offer to pay half because of there admitted poor workmanship. Let the buyer beware of Whirlpool poor quality.

Whirlpool Side By Side Refrigerator. Great product. I love the icebreaker feature. Also, my family enjoys the dispenser of ice crushed or cubed. The water dispensing from the same feature. I enjoy being able to open up the fridge and the shelves are moveable. You are able to see through the conpartments. Helps me take a close glance to inventory. Enjoy how well it cleans. It is easy to change the water filter and can be easily found to replace at a Lowes. Cleaning the water dispenser able to take it apart and cleaning it. Love this feature. Lots of room for the freezer. Able to remove the shelves and adjust them. Able to see everything. Down is that I wish the freezer was had see through compartment. Have own this appliance for 2 years and I am very happy with the product. I like that when my filter needs to be replaced I have a red light that shows up. When the filter is okay it is green. Also, have a sticker that goes at the bottom of the fridge near the fiter that tells me when I purchased...

I have owned a Whirlpool Side by side since 1994. This refrigerator has performed remarkkably well. We have had only one service call and that was for the icemaker. We didn't fix it because we were going to wait until the refrigerator went out and just replace the refrigerator. That was several years ago and the fridge is still going strong. The exterior is the textured black finish. It does not show fingerprints at all. We have received excellent service from this refrigerator.

We completed our kitchen remodel last year and the very last appliance that we purchased was a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator. We have had such positive results from our Whirlpool appliances over the years that I felt I just had to have an "All Whirlpool" kitchen so we replaced a perfectly functional Amana model.

This refrigerator is my first experience with a side-by-side model. I chose a white appliance that has very clean lines. It has the non-smudge surface which is definitely a plus. The icemaker, water dispenser and light buttons are on the front of the door. They operate digitally by a simple touch on the pad.

We have had very few problems to date. In fact, the only problem at all has been that the ice maker occasionally jams. This may be due to the fact that my husband and I used different types ice so are constantly changing the setting.

I highly recommend this refrigerator as well as all Whirlpool appliances. Consumers will not go wrong with Whirlpool.

I bought a whirlpool side by side refrigerator three years ago. The plastic pipe behind the fridge broke and flooded the area behind the fridge, causing damage to the wall and the carpet. The customer service is very poor and unhelpful. It cost me couple thousand dollars to repair the damage....

Recently our household acquired a new refrigerator. A brand new Whirlpool. What a beauty. This wonderful fridge has an ice maker,which is capable of dispening either cubed ice or crushed ice. Ice maker is quick tomake ice,for those times when you need a cold drink or for a pary or other gathering. Also features an area for dispensing cold water for individuals who do not enjoy colas,tea or other refreshments.

Fridge area has a lot of space and features some really neat door arrangements on side. It also features a pull out drawer for whatever you may want to store below that is heavy or in the way of daily routine.

While the holding area on the other side featues 2 pull out drawers for vegatables,fruits, or anything that you like to be accessible. A 4 tier shelf can be moved area to your liking above. Many people have different ways of arranging their fridge, But I feel it would be easy for anyone.

The Whirlpool side by side is the greatest refrigerator I have ever owned. I need a lot of space with 3 kids and a husband to store food for, so this one fit the bill perfectly. I have always wanted a stainless steel side by side, so when I purchased this one I fell in love with it and never want anything different. It includes an ice maker and has a waterfilter line, as well as humidity controlled drawers, so if you're storing fruit you can have low humidity, or turn it up higher for veggies. The bottom drawer is a convertible vegetable/meat drawer, with a high humidity setting for veggies or a colder dry storage for meat that you want to keep for a few more days without putting it in the freezer. I couldn't have picked a better fridge!...

Was very easy to install, once we got it inside of the house. Is VERY quiet, especially compared to our old fridge (which is about 15 yrs. old) & I've noticed a fairly decent lowering of our electric bills.

Am VERY impressed with how easy the interior is to keep clean! My 3 yr. old spilled some grape juice inside & we had it cleaned up in less than 5 minutes. Plus, there was no staining!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the adjustable shelves. Can't wait to see how this does during Thanksgiving!
