i've had my gu2300xtv model for a month now.

everything was great for the first 2 weeks. i loved the ample size, the silverware in the door and the cleaning ability. it wasn't extremely quiet, but still acceptable.

suddenly, all my dishes had a white powdery film. the tech came out and told me how these units operate in order to maintain their energy star rating.

the internal heater does not kick in until the main wash. so, you have to run the tap water to the ideal temp before the unit starts. this is why the delayed timer is not useful unless you're willing to install a mini water heater at your sink. note - bosch units' heaters kick on immediately so i should have bought a bosh since this feature was extremely important to me.

fixing the problem was not a simple as it sounded. here are the steps i had to take to get rid of the film in the tub.

1. run washer magic through a cycle when the unit was empty

2. ditch my "green" phosphorus free detergent and buy cascade with dawn...

We're two guys that want to pretend momis still cleaning up after us, and fortunately this dishwasher does! I laughed when I saw the words 'quiet partner' on the front, because isn't isnt THAt quiet. I guess I've heard louder, but my Kenmore front loading washing machine is realllllly silent. I guess I was surprised to read any negative reviews because this machine was here when we moved in and has been great the whole time! I run an empty load every month or so with vinegar in it to descale....but only because my mom told me so. Maybe some other people would be happier if they did too!

I just purchased the Quiet Partner III. I wished I had not. It is quiet for a reason and the reason is not because of superior sound dampening. The reason it is so quiet is because the pump is next door to worthless. It is a poor pump that barely squirts water. To get around this, they run the cycle longer... much longer. The idea is, that given enough time, the moisture on the dishes will soften any food and clean them. If you have any stubborn food, it will be there after the cycle ends... (usually 2-3 hours later... NO exaggeration!)

The insulation package was very poor; it didn't need to be good to dampen the noise. My old Whirlpool had a superior insulation package but was noisier than this one, because it had a pump that actually sprayed pressurized water on the dishes to clean them. If you want clean dishes, put up with a little noise and get a washer that has a pump that puts out a good spray. I wish I had read something about this prior to my purchasing this...

The Whirlpool Gold Quiet partner is a very good dishwasher. I have to say that I like the way that the compartments are arranged inside. It has a stylish looking exterior that only enhances the look of the kitchen. I can't say that i know the horse power of the unit, although it is a energy star product, which I am pleased about. I feel that the Whirlppol Gold has the power to give your dishes a good cleaning. I have yet to have a problem of any finding any residue on anything that I have put in the dishwasher. That was a problem I had with my previous dishwasher. The Whirlpool Gold Quiet partner is just that..quiet. I was suprised at just how quiet the dishwasher runs. Its nice to have the dishwasher running and be able to do other things without any annoying noise coming from the dishwasher. I would have no problem recommending the Whirpool Gold Quiet Partner to anyone looking for a great dishwasher. I do not think that you will be dissapointed.

I purchased a new Quiet Partner III dishwasher from my local Sears in December of 2008. By the 4th load I had a flashing clean light (requires service). The service person has been to my home 2 times already and has replaced the main control board. The problem persists with no resolution in site.

Further, the fancy rack system in the dishwasher was missing clips which Sears wanted to charge me to replace.

I love my Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner III dishwasher. Immediately after installation (which by the way my handy husband was able to do with ease) I was impressed by the quiet - the noise I didn't hear when the dishwasher was running. The name is definitely indicative of the product!

There are many great benefits to this dish washer. First of all, the dish holders can be laid down, allowing room for large items such as mixing bowls or casserole dishes! I love this feature which makes the dish washing machine very versatile. This same feature is also present on the top rack, although I do not use it as frequently.

When I purchased this machine, I looked at many other products that had stainless steel tubs, but the salesperson actually recommended against those tubs because they really didn't add as much benefit to the product as they did dollars to the cost! Therefore, I chose the machine that has a grey tub and have been very happy with it. It doesn't stain, like my old......
